Ah Tuxie400, I love that you mentioned it.....and there may yet be a link in weird way, not St. Nicholas, but a child given the Christmas clues. And lets not forget the Christmas decorations in the barn attic.....and what was obviously a young child's bed.

Perhaps St. Nick was found guilty of cruelty to animals (making the reindeer work on 12/25 without a decent break) or of human trafficking (making the elves work without decent wages - do they even have a union??).
The TV show Alias (created by either Jon or John) featured Project Christmas, where children were tested for spy aptitude and then trained so they could become spies when they became adults. Or something like that.
I never watched the show, but perhaps The Blacklist is merely another aspect of Alias, almost like a spin-off. Liz participated in Project Christmas as a child.
Reminds me of the comedy "Newhart" that featured a couple running a quaint inn in New England. The final scene of the series finale showed Bob Newhart waking up saying he had the weirdest dream. He turns to his wife who ends up being his wife from Bob's previous tv series "The Bob Newhart Show" (all of Bob Newhart's tv shows had his name in the title). Anyway the point of the final scene was that the entire "Newhart" tv show was a dream of Bob Newhart's character in the earlier tv series. Extremely clever and funny. I don't know how the actors kept a straight face filming in front of a live audience.

Colleen - Your possible St. Nick crimes made me LOL! And I would love it if Liz was a trainee from Project Christmas.
