Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

RedIsMyCoPilot and Tuxie400 - It would be wild if what is in the artificial eye is somehow linked to the suitcase contents.  Regardless, I'm starting to think that Liz killing Navarro is going to present more problems that just Detective Singleton.

Hi all, just a note that I've updated the parallels and numbers lists for a couple more episodes (not this one yet).  The lists are updated as I re-watch an ep; additionally if new parallels come to mind.  Thanks Colleen, for the Scotch items!

Thank you for the list. Don't forget Liz looking in the mirror!

I updated our questions list too. Let me know if there is anything else you want added to it.

Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

I am thinking more and more about the artificial eyeball fulcrum idea.  Liz reacted to it in much the same way she did when finding the fulcrum in the bunny; both were found almost inadvertently - a bunch of things had to happen and fall in place to put her in the place where she found each.  I believe she used similar words to describe the original fulcrum.  Perhaps we are seeing a parallel plot of sorts developing....

Or, it could just be a camera.  Wasn't there a recent episode in Season 4 where a camera was put in someone's contact lens, something like that?  To see where she went.   Or am I thinking of another show?  LOL

I don't remember a camera being put in anyone's contact lens in Season 4 The Blacklist. Did it happen in Redemption? I did not watch those as closely as BL.

I did find out the camera in a contact lens is a real thing. Sony and Google were both working on them in 2016.

Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

Jonny Coyne, the Iain Garvey actor was guest-villaining on MacGyver tonite on CBS - guess he's starting to campaign for full-time work and now catching on as a very excellent guest villain. Little different than Garvey tonite - more clean cut, no glasses, same American/English hybrid accent though!

BBB - I've been watching TURN Washington's Spies on Netflix, and Jonny Coyne plays a British officer in several episodes. He's usually pretty affable in that role. He looks quite different in a powdered whig.

Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

I figure the eye is going to be some sort of recording device. Probably just visual, no audio?   I wonder if she will see Garvey on it.  It would probably depend on how much contact Navarro has had with Garvey and how much data is stored on the eye.  I would be surprised if it still had everything stored on it from that night at the apartment since that was supposed to have happened over a year ago.  That would not only give her Garvey and show her the bones, but she might also lip read the name "Reddington" being said.  We still have 11 more episodes to finish the season, so I don't think she would get that much information that quickly.

But a problem could be if Navarro is on record with doctors as having this eye and if it has any sort of GPS tracking capabilities.  Then they can track it right to Liz Keen's coat pocket.

I've been wondering if the cell phone being submitted to evidence is going to push the story forward.  Tom's contact with Dennison occurred around the time Dennison was murdered (or went 'missing', if Red had his clean up crew in afterwards). If Dennison was left to be found murdered and the police look into him, they could possibly compare ballistics and realize the same person who killed Dennison burst into Liz's apartment and killed the Nash gang (as long as Red didn't change weapons).  It would definitely make Liz suspicious but still leave a lot of answers, as it appears that she is going to start getting suspicious of Red in the next couple of episodes.

I could see this happening. It would be a parallel with other medical devices in the show. The Alchemist's daughter's insulin pump comes to mind. I would really think this expensive, and probably experimental, technology would be tracked.

The more I think about this, the more I think Tom's cellphone will come into play in providing Liz with more info. Nik's cell was how Red found out Tom was involved. So, again, it would be a parallel.

Hey lara1 - That contact lens with a camera in it was in Redemption. Tessa has a post about it on her Criminally Sane tumblr blog.

Yes, I remember that well.

Tatiana - I don't remember it at all. LOL! The only scenes from Redemption that remain in my memory are scenes with Howard and Tom, and the episode about the Russian look-alikes training to take over American identities.

Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

I just discovered there's no Blacklist next week. What a bummer! It seems so odd to take a break and run two Law and Order SVU's back to back.

I also saw where The Blacklist is finally back in the +3 ratings at #25 for The Informant. It hasn't been there all season until now.

Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

Thanks for the info on the contact lens.  At least I was not confusing it with another show!  LOL.  I don't really remember the context at all....

That's too bad they are not airing TBL this week.  I must say their programming is a mystery to me.  Too bad they are not going to capitalize on the forward momentum with the ratings.  Its like the car is starting to rev and pick up speed and they apply the brakes.  The casual viewer may not know its going to be off for just a week.  Strange, but then what do I know?  LOL

I was figuring they would take a break during the Olympics, but why no show next week?

Law and Order SVU just started its season in January. Maybe they needed to do back to back episodes of it now to make room for a double episode of BL later. I loved that we got a couple of those back-to-back episodes BL in Season 4. Also, maybe this scheduling will allow BL to have more of a cliffhanger right before the Olympics.

Re: Episode 5.11 - Abraham Stern - Discussion Page - Happy 100!

Not sure if I read it here, but someone mentioned that the artificial eye may lead whoever is associated with it directly to Liz and/or Reddington.  although since Garvey's man is following Liz  they are going to find Red fairly easily anyway.  Although I like the idea that its a parallel to The Alchemist ( of all things LOL) where the daughter's monitor (I think it was related to diabetes, I could be wrong), led authorities to the Alchemist.

lara1 - Yes, in the Alchemist  the daughter's insulin pump was able to be tracked.
