This is from Ruin but I just remembered that I wanted to ask:

Did we ever find out who was sending Liz the boxes with investigation materials while she was in Alaska?

We didn't ever get clarification on that.  I was thinking it must have been one of the task force members. Since Liz didn't want Red to follow her, I don't think she would have given him her mailing address. So I think it would have to be someone she totally trusted on the task force.

Or something else I wondered was if Scottie somehow had gotten access to the files?  We don't know for sure what her connections are now that she's been exonerated in the Redemption universe.  But I agree that it was likely someone on the Task Force...perhaps Cooper?

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Brittany - Scottie could have been sending the boxes too. I first thought it was likely Aram or Cooper. But after hearing Samar say what she'd be doing if it were her husband, I think it most likely could have been her.

Samar would be a good option.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Tuxie400 - I think the only other "Ray" was Rifkin in the Judge.  Apart from minor characters, like the motel clerk in The Stewmaker.  I think there have been one or two other clerks like that called Ray.

I had a better look at Garvey's watch.  It seemed expensive to me.  You can't tell whether it is a Patek but it looked expensive.  It had three little control knobs on the top of it.  Patek currently sells a watch with a metal band which has those.  Not to say its a Patek.  There also looks to be a hallmark of some kind at the back of the strap, kind of where the clasp is, maybe on the clasp.  Not sure if anyone has. a bigger TV than me or can get a better look at it.  Could be a hallmark of a manufacturer, could just be a design, or functional piece.

On the boxes - I just assume Liz requested them sent to her.  Like when she was looking into the blacklister files in Season 1.   Interestingly, they went through the regular mail, so I don't believe that the local Alaska post office would have any way of knowing who sent them, I doubt they'd keep a record (I ran into that issue in RL with certified mail, the PO did not have a record of who sent it, just the number, which was not traceable to a person).

But its more of a question for me how they got to her apt in DC.  I'm assuming she just mailed them herself before she left the cabin.  Not sure how long it would have taken for the bodies to be discovered.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Garvey wore a wedding band in 5x08, so it could have been his wife in bed with him (or a mistress, because a guy willing to run a woman through a wood chipper probably doesn't have any qualms about infidelity).  Whoever it is, he doesn't care enough to leave the room to take his call. Imagine being romantically involved with him and learning he puts innocent people through wood chippers.  *shudders*

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Back to the flat, I thought I'd seen come of the architecture and art books from the flat in Red's new flat, but I couldn't freeze the screen well enough to get a good look.  However, someone on Reddit was able to find another Russian nesting doll, and at least some of the old photos from the flat, including the one of little Liz in the swing.  I don't see any of the icons though or the graduation photo, but maybe all of that is there is we look hard enough.....or even the phonograph.  To me the new flat is kind of a mix between the old one and the shipping container LOL.

I've seen the doll, but not the pictures.  Were they in the main living area or that study he was in when Ressler talked to him?

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

But I've figured he would have given up the flat because he had no idea if Kaplan had exposed it to other people.  She had gotten poison into the booze he kept there, so I doubt she'd have no qualms about giving out his address.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Brittany, it was a close up of part of the bookcase so not sure exactly where in the flat.  Of course, the photos could just be copies, like he had copies of some stuff from the flat, in the shipping container.  But yes he could have given it up, which begs the question of where is the rest of the stuff and where is the cat, LOL.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Hi all, for those who are interested, just fyi I updated both the Parallels list and the numbers list for Ep 5.10.
Let me know if you think I missed something - sometimes I can't read my own writing the next day!  LOL.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Oh, just one interesting thing I'll mention on the numbers for this ep.  When Ressler confronts Prescott on the boys football field, Prescott is wearing a #12 football jersey for the PATRIOTS.  yeah, they're a football team.  But is there a link with that #12 that keeps recurring in the series and patriots.......or agents turned bad.

EDIT:  and lets not forget that in numerology 12 divides down into 3 (1+2).

He doesn't seem to have a lot of regard for women, having shot Lena in the back and run her through the wood chipper. So the wife has my sympathy.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

I can't decide if it would be worse to know and stay with him out of fear or for him to be this doting husband and father, nice neighbor, etc. and then learn this.   The guy gives me the willies.

I especially like that in this one simple quote, Red acknowledges that he's a bad influence and is willing to step back, while simultaneously acknowledging that Cooper is a good influence, and encourages him to step forward.  Figure our boy has always tried to do right by Elizabeth, but now that Red's had this Kaplan kind of epiphany, he's able to take a bit of a more objective approach to what Liz needs--which may not always be his direct interference.  And that's a bit of a nice seed to plant in terms of further character growth.

Re: Episode 5.10 - The Informant - Discussion Page

Where they were seemed like a hotel room to me.  But that was just my impression, it could have been somewhere else.  It wasn't very well lit.  The headboard just reminded me a bit of a hotel headboard.  Kind of like the one in the hotel room that Red stayed in, back when he burned his passports in the trash can.  LOL .
I just made another link with Red/Garvey without meaning to.......

I caught that, too.  It'd be a great running gag for Red to always have witty banter with ladies who are married and named Janet.  ^-^

Tuxie, I know I'm tired . . . I have to re-watch the first ten minutes, at least. I didn't get the gas thing, either.

And, yes, I think Cooper wrote a confession, too. I wonder if he is going to get killed and that "confession" will be some sort of clue that's needed for the finale.

I liked how Donald stole a bottle of Red's alcohol as he left. I was laughing out loud. That was great!

Haha!  I thought this was a great way to show that Donald isn't necessarily going back to being a pure boy scout.  I think it would have been better if Red saw the whole thing, and did one of his perplexed blinking kind of faces.  ^-^

LIz is a loose cannon!

lara1, I saw the watch too.  I also want to get a better look at it and the ring he is wearing since they keep putting it in our face.  He really is a creeeepy dude!

It was very disturbing to see Red set that fire knowing he knows what that feels like.
Interesting he said his good friend about Donald to Prescott before he lit the fire. Then later he was talking to Donald about them being friends.

BBB, 56, yes.  I think Cooper knew he was going to do that.

I think Red legit thinks of Ressler as a friend, and so it was great to see.  What'll even be better, is down the road, when Donald realizes that they're friends.

Figure it's a relationship kind of sort of the same way that Aram is terrified of Red, and has no reason to be--only with Ressler it's more along the lines that he doesn't realize they don't have to be on the same side of the fence to be fighting the same war.

Either way, figure Red respects them both for different things.  It's part of that juxtaposing deal where Red's got an uncanny ability to pull out the best of what can be utilized in a person--and in the case of Aram and Ressler, that means tipping his hat to Aram's moral code, and Donald's rule abiding ethics.  Plus, I think they each have a bit of an aspect of Dembe in them, and that's someone Red wishes he could be more like--so it's only natural that he would respect them for having said qualities.

I think Red killed Prescott via a fire, because Prescott was a jerk-face who deserved a horrible death.  ::coughs::  But truly, he was.
