Brittany - I agree that we were deprived of quality Red and Agnes time this season. Maybe Red and Agnes played with those nesting dolls.
Honey West - Liz may have tricked Navarro there. I'll be watching closely on my second time through the episode. I would have probably gotten the cat nesting dolls too, if I had the chance to visit Russia.

I just had a completely random (thus far baseless) thought: what if this Paris Genet (the new butler or whatever) is working for Garvey? Spying on Red? I'm keeping my eye on him. He is listed on IMDB as showing up in another episode in the future.

Nesting dolls make me think of Red's flat. Whatever happened to it - does he still have it? He didn't seem to live there, rather just pop in from time to time to tend to his secrets. is the nesting doll the sole survivor? The doll seems to be facing inward. I never noticed if it was in the shipping container, like copies of some of the paintings in the flat.
I'm inclined to think that Red still has the flat, just did not want to stay there until he felt it was safe. I wonder if we'll see it again.

Liz went into a zen-like trance state in order to preserve consciousness. Tiny was also hindered by the clamps Liz already had placed on his wrists so he didn't have full use of his power, of his arms.
Liz was very sloppy, allowing TIny to get the upper hand in the first place. That's something a trained agent should never, ever do - allow a prisoner to get to you when you're all alone.
She was overcome by anger and rage in order to pry information from the guy - clearly it made her vulnerable. Only a stupendous rally allowed her to subdue the big man.

Brittany, I was wondering that because it seamed like Garvey got the phone call after Liz came by Reds.

I was wondering if anyone else tjought it odd that Red had been trying to track down those guys for over a year and finds nothing, but Liz is able to do it in a few days....

Very odd, Eastcoast. I am very suspicious of old Red and what he is doing. Even if he had limited himself in his search while he took care of Agnes, he has still had a few months since Liz woke up to do this. We haven’t really seen him alone with Dembe yet aince returning and that’s when we tend to get truths he is keeping from Liz.
This is from Ruin but I just remembered that I wanted to ask:
Did we ever find out who was sending Liz the boxes with investigation materials while she was in Alaska?

East coast and brittany. I don’t think Red was telling the whole truth, or he wasn’t trying. Since when is Red not able to force or coax info out of people? To me it seemed like he hadn’t really tried. He doesnt want Liz finding out.
He needs the suitcase back though so I feel we are not seeing everything he has done. Given the parallels we saw with Kaplan’s story, maybe he is underestimating Liz as well.

You could be right that he hasn't tried too hard, Lara. I'm not sure if Navarro knew why Garvey wanted the bones (I can't remember if he was around when Garvey was mentioning Reddington to Tom), but I can see Red not wanting to expose himself too much in case people didn't know the bones were connected to him and it getting back to Liz. Those bones could be anywhere at this point. I wonder what Red did with the suitcase afterwards? Did he toss it out? Is Liz going to find out that a suitcase was involved, then stumble upon it somehow (but it's empty)? Does it still have the address tag with her name on it? I can't imagine Red would just leave it lying around but Liz is sneaky and Red has been underestimating people a lot lately. I don't tend to believe the address is important since Tom never mentioned it or looked into it, but maybe it could come around as being important (perhaps he was only going to solve one mystery and leave the rest to her?). It just seems like they are going to have to add a lot of layers into this to drag this mystery out for 12 more episodes.

Brittany - you raise a lot of good questions. And I was thinking how Red disappeared for a while and went after everyone after Anslo Garrick. That took a while, but he got everyone. But I think he had more leads in that case. Still, what is his plan? LOL
It would be a total twist if Red turned out to be Oleander. Not that he orchestrated stuff, just that Oleander might be a false clue for us. Not that I think that's the case but I'm hoping for a real twist with the bones.....
I do hope that Red did not orchestrate everything and then it went horribly wrong....like Han's kidnapping long ago......perhaps because Garvey found out that there was value in the bones. But I think that's probably not the case just a thought that popped into my head.....

...the reason I had that thought, well one of them is that I can't fathom how Garvey found out about the DNA search. He seems more like.a lower level operative than the main guy. So he could be working for someone. Red would be the sort of person who would find out about the DNA search in the government database. We had a parallel with this week's case, because Red found out (somehow) that someone had accessed the confidential computer of the Senate Intelligence Committee for the terrorist financing account numbers. How did he know that? He could therefore have known about the DNA search.
Working for Red would be a twist, though I still think it unlikely......

oh yes, the other parallel with the database search, is that the FBI said that someone accessed the Senate Committee database with someone's work badge.....and the person they focus is on is Howard RAY Bishop. did anyone catch that his middle name is Ray?? LOL
And didn't he say that he badge was stolen/used while he was out to dinner?
Just like Tom swiping Liz's badge at iunch for the CODIS access....

Even though the Ian Garvey character is wonderfully acted - and has possibility of being a long-term TBL big bad - the form chart of the show does not lend itself to long-term criminal suppositories. My hopes are the show-runners deliver most fans what they want - a fierce, fiery and gory demise - delivered at the hands of our new lead character - BLACK LIZ

Brittany and Eastcoast - I tend to think Paris Genet is just one of Red's odd new people who will be a recurring character. But he reminds me of Newton Phillips, so maybe he will be the one to betray Red down the line somewhere.
From Garvey's brief scene, it seemed like he still doesn't know how to contact Red - that's why he's had someone keeping an eye on Liz's apartment. Like Berlin, Garvey sees Liz as his connection to Red. I wonder who it was that phoned Garvey. At first I thought it might have been Detective Singleton, but his voice is nothing like the one on the phone. Perhaps one of the cops surveilling Liz's apartment is also working with Garvey. There have been a lot of references to dirty cops this season. Maybe Garvey is a cop.

We didn't ever get clarification on that. I was thinking it must have been one of the task force members. Since Liz didn't want Red to follow her, I don't think she would have given him her mailing address. So I think it would have to be someone she totally trusted on the task force.

I didn't catch that at all. I don't think we've ever had another Raymond or Ray in the show, have we? (Except for when Gregory DeVry pretended to be Reddington) I did notice the similarity in using someone's work badge to access info from a database.
Edited to say: There was Alan Ray Rifkin in The Judge back in season 1.

That’s exactly what it is about him that makes me suspicious: the similarity to Newton Phillips. He might turn out to be nothing. But it’s guilty until proven innocent in this world

Brittany - Yes, the similarity to Newton Phillips does make Paris Genet suspect. And the name is curious. - like something one would pick for a flamboyant would-be celebrity. A genet is a wild cat-like African animal, hunted there as a pest that kills chickens. Or a genet can refer to an aircraft engine. It also struck me as being related to "genetics," which seems to be a theme with Liz and Red this season.

Thank you for asking that! Every time I am on here I have wanted to ask that.
