I saw a theory on Tumblr today that helped me with some questions I’ve had about Red’s relationship with Katarina. In Requiem we see KR talk about how he had been an assignment in the past when Kaplan sees them together. This theory suggested that perhaps Red had learned that KR was KGB and assigned to him and flipped her to be a double agent. They got wrapped up with the Cabal and their relationship, Red loses faith in KR’s ability to do the job or and takes Liz for fear that she and KR will be killed. KR leads the Cabal to the house which results in the fights and fire and the family being torn apart.
It would tie in with what Dom says about Red making decisions for KR and Masha that got them killed (in Artax Network), also with Red saying men like Tom don’t change because he tried to get KR to change and she couldn’t. And I’ve always had a hard time believing two spies from two different agencies could continue a long term affair after an assignment was supposed to have ended without at least one agency knowing and using it to their advantage.

Brittany - I think that a lot of us here have had the same theory about Red and Katarina's relationship. How could she be a traitor to two countries unless she were working for the U.S. also? I think this is the track most of the members of the Blacklist Support Group (this group's predecessor) were on in Season 3 and early Season 4. I think Season 4 gave rise to a lot of the whacked out theories that then developed.

I figured it had discussed it before. I've questioned her being an asset in the past, but hadn't thought about it since watching season 4. I've always thought KR likely was born or came to the US as a very young child, thus that could also be construed as a "traitor to two countries". Double agent makes more sense.

Honey West - I think the Zodiac discussion started here, and it was under last Spring's hiatus thread. Then we moved a lot of the discussion to thrushes.
I wasn't able to find the first part of the show on Comcast On Demand. I would really like to watch that part since it was about a new suspect.. I wasn't able to watch last night's episode because I had other things going on. I'm thinking maybe it takes a week before it shows up On Demand, or maybe I can watch it online on the History Channel website.
Thanks, Tuxie400, I did find it where you said it was. I actually - gasp- figured out how to search this site! I was looking for the reference to Cheri Jo Bates and where that appeared in that file on Red. They were working out the links to her murder and Zodiac last night. It’s interesting that they are using a supercomputer to try to decipher the Zodiac's ciphers. They were talking about the similarities of some of the symbols to the Navy signal flags and also some things from Booz Allen Hamilton, where they think perhaps Zodiac had maybe been employed since some of the symbols were used by them and Zodiac during a time period when the Booz Allen stuff was still classified. An interesting sidebar was that one of Booz Allen Hamilton's former employees was Edward Snowden. Didn’t Red supposedly contribute financially to Snowden's defense? Made me wonder just what the writers were getting at with the references to all of these possible links between Red, the Zodiac Killer and Snowden?
I hope you get to watch it; I’d love to hear what you think about it. (grin)

Honey West - I did watch the first two parts of the Hunt for the Zodiac Killer today on the History Channel website and really liked them. I was amazed by all the Navy connections. The information about defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton and the Booz circles was fascinating,.and I found it interesting that they had teams of Navy Seals working for them. The idea that some of the Navy Signal flags were symbols in the Zodiac's cryptograms was intriguing too, along with idea that Navy weather symbols may have been used. There was also that connection to the Mt. Diablo Navy monitoring station. I can't remember if Red supposedly contributed to Snowden's defense or not. I thought the character referred to in that season one episode where they piecing together all the shredded documents was supposed to be Julian Assange, the Wiki Leaks guy. But maybe Ed Snowden was mentioned somewhere along the line too.
While I had heard of the first suspect, Ross Sullivan, I had never heard of Lawrence Kane. I did some more research on him and found out his wife's father was Russian. And he had a brain injury. There's always some way to link this stuff to Blacklist. LOL

Cool stuff, eh? I thought you would like it, Tuxie400. I was amazed at all of the Navy stuff and spies and such. I felt like I was hearing some of our own discussions at times!
And, yes, so true, Tatiana!

HoneyWest - thanks for this! I just started watching. within the first few minutes the investigator interviewed says:
1- he (Zodiac) had no distinguishing marks or TATTOOS (almost verbatim what Ressler said about Red when he turned himself in
2- they refer to the Zodiac as a "ghost"
3 - they emphasized the large number of LETTERS mailed through the POST OFFICE to the newspapers
hmmm. I'm only 5 minutes in. will be ride!
And - Cheri Jo Bates - another person whose name starts with a C. I never noted that before as I've only recently been paying attention to the "C"s and "K"s.

I’ve been rewatching Boston Legal over the last couple of weeks. I haven’t watched it for a few years. Spader’s genius has no ends.

Brittany - I loved Spader on Boston Legal. Those episodes are always fun to watch again.
lara1 - In Hunt for the Zodiac Killer, those black framed glasses made me think of Ian Garvey too. You made some interesting connections in both of your posts above.

Iowa Watcher - thanks for that info on the DVDs! LOL I should have waited to purchase mine, and I haven't even had the time to watch the outtakes yet!
Brittany - Boston Legal is one of my all time favorite shows. Funny thing is I never really watched it when it first aired though I did discover not too long after.
Lara- my late husband introduced me to the show about a year after it went off the air. We got the DVD box sets and watched together. His favorite was Denny Crane. Mine was obviously Alan Shore. ;)
Tuxie- thanks for the link! I’ll have to look at it. I love seeing how things change in shows or books from the initial to what actually ends up being consumed by the public.

Tuxie400 - good question. I added it to the wrong thread! I just moved it to the MK Ultra thread, where I believe we last discussed some of the Zodiac stuff.

Where is the mk ultra thread? I tried searching for it but it didn’t come up. Is it on thrushes?

The Mk Ultra thread is on thrushes, Honey West!
