Iowa Watcher - I had a wild thought after watching this that maybe Red killed KR at Cape May. Maybe he was ordered to do it; or she did something that gave him "no choice" when he found out about it. Then it was made to look like a suicide. That would be a wild twist on the "fake suicide" . I guess that means another re-watch of "Cape May".
I think you're on to something. Bed for me! I'll have more cogent thoughts in another day or two.

I've often thought Katarina didn't actually commit suicide but that Red killed her at Cape May. Which would make it even creepier if Katarina was actually her brother.
Just exploring...

About that Bokenkamp interview on EW: About the only thing he actually confirms is that Baz is dead. And that makes me sad.

Tatiana - that is a possibility. part of the two girls theory.
I am still thinking about one of the last conversations Red had with Kaplan. all about how Liz is not Masha - that is, she has grown up and developed into the FBI agent profiler Liz Keen. That was a loaded, perplexing conversation to me. I understood what Red was saying but why was he saying that to Kaplan in that way?

Oh no. I really liked him. So it seems like most of Red's old guard are dead. He will have to rebuild, get a brand new team. Will he find where Kaplan put all of his money?

Tatiana #102 - yes. And that would certainly be a horrible decision to have to make.
Ah, more questions than answers again! LOL

Ok, I read the JB interview:
I wanted to hold out hope, but Jon confirms that Kate is very very dead. And worse yet, so is Baz. I need a moment.
"This show is full of secrets...We unpacked another big one tonight — this suitcase and its contents — it’s all connected and it’s all difficult to talk about. " according to Jon Bokenkamp
He says the bones are a much bigger part of the puzzle and Red is terrified of Liz finding out about the bones. Hmmm... I wonder if Julian Gale will be the bone whisperer who ultimately figures out this secret....
He also kind of confirms that they are probably Katarina's bones.
Asked if we can trust the DNA results he says, 'I think so. That’s why we anchored that so far in the past that the DNA of Raymond Reddington from this bloody shirt all these years ago gives us that answer. So yes, I think we should trust that.'
And here's an interview with Megan Boone:

Agreed. We have our work cut out for us this summer.

If we're to think that perhaps this is an imposter Reddington, we still don't know why he would be so fatherly to Liz. And so keen on protecting her.
Also, what is it about that music box that he made/repaired that she remembers her father playing for her? When would she have been with a father who did that, and why would Red want her to remember? Sometimes I wonder if some of these past clues have been ignored and we're supposed to forget them!

Hey, about Bokenkamp. He lies. He said Tom Keen would not reappear this season. And he just did.
Also, he gave a very Redspeak answer about whether those were Katarina's bones. It was very similar in syntax to when he said we should trust that Constantin Rostova was Liz's father. He also said the real Reddington's bones in the suitcase would be a good theory.
I also thought he mostly confirmed Kate was dead, but not 100 percent.

I missed 1st 1/2 hour of the 2-parter, so I need to see it completely tomorrow.
But I did see ''Conclusion' and have to think that since they've used classical music before, they should have used THIS (starting around 3 min 25 sec in) for Mr. Kaplan's final moments....

Season 4 - Blacklist: The Suitcase
Tom came back.
Outstanding 2 hour event. Full of devilish twists and turns.
Love how Samar & Aram fell back into love
Great scene w/ Mr. Kaplan & Liz
But the ending w/ Red & Liz was scorching, tear jerking and somewhat surprising - even though IT HAS TO TURN......TURN . .. . .TURN
To everything there is a season!

The thing I loved most about the episode was Red saying he was not going to kill Kaplan. And it was wonderful to hear him say he shouldn't have shot her the first time. I think his offer to give Kate the island escape was the ultimate olive branch. Last week's episode and this week's showed so much character growth for Red.

Laurel Hitchens might have been the most universally evil and despicable character in Blacklist history. Donald's "marriage" to her was suddenly annulled. To bad!
And who does Donald call? None other than Root's husband, Carpinello - the new "cleaner" . . . Mr. Acker!

I have one final thought/question for the evening.
Kate asks Liz whether she wants to know the truth why Red turned himself in, and Kate would take Liz there. Then when they are driving the FBI intercepts them but ultimately they box Kate in on the bridge.
I don't think it was the Farm, because if I remember correctly Kate had already dug that up and put it in the locker.
So I wonder where she was taking her, and what was the "truth" she wanted her to see? I don't think it was that Red is Liz's father, she could just have told her. Also, I thought it was somewhat telling that Kate said to Liz, you can either come with me, and learn the truth, or leave the car and choose Red, something to that effect.
I wonder where they were driving to and what was the "truth" Kate was going to show her, if it was not the suitcase. It didn't sound to me like they were going to the locker, and it also sounded to me that Kate's plan was that the locker would only be revealed if she were killed.

I agree. Why would an imposter, unless that imposter is Katarina, be so parental and build a criminal empire aimed at protecting Liz?

Bad t-storm, so I can't sleep, yet.
Somehow, I think KR is alive. Maybe Mr. Kaplan was taking Liz to see her ??
The bones belong to the original Raymond Reddington or someone else. I'll ponder that.
Yes, Donald has gone over to the dark side. I'm okay with that. Maybe he'll become more of a badass.
Yes, lots of meat to chew on. I'm glad we got a two hour finale. They couldn't have told that story in one hour, and I'm glad they didn't stop after hour 1. Now we've got more pieces to move around.
I like the idea that Red is in a rebuilding phase. Instead of weekly blacklisters, we could get new "employees," at times, and some of them could be downright strange.
Yes, sorry to lose Baz! He must've had other jobs coming up.

That was a great finale! It seams they left us with things that can be taken 2 ways, but I think we expect that by now.
So much to think about.
30 years?
I think that was a small person in that suitcase.
And Tom!
I think she hired Halcion!..

hmm, so now I am reading that the dialog between Dembe and Red was something about "what we did to Katarina". that doesn't mean that Red killed her (though that is possible as is anything at this point!) , maybe they killed someone she loved; Red could have even arranged yet another kidnapping of someone that went bad; it could be a child etc.
It will be a long four months! but plenty of time to re-watch for clues as to what all of it might mean.
I do think though, that this might be the end of the Rederina theory. If Red is saying to Katerina, I'm sorry, as he did in Cape May and otherwise talking about her in the third person. still anything is possible.

lara1, they said,
Dembe, You didn't deny it.
Red, I didn't.
D, Then she thinks that's Kate's secret.
R, yes.
D, So she doesn't know about the suitcase.
R, Not yet.
R, It is gone.
D, Raymond, I'm not sure Elizabeth will ever be ready to learn what you did to Katarina.
