I figured that was how she would attack him. Not guns, bullets and knives, but more likely emotionally, psychologically. And take his empire apart so he has no "almost unlimited resources" to use to fight back with. If she had truly wanted to kill him I think she could still do that, but I am thinking that she wants to punish him and take away his ability to exercise any control over anyone and anything ever again.

Well, I figured that the Task Force would come under siege in some way. I'm guessing as a result of Kaplan's actions (the bodies on the ice rink?). JB comment is curious. I guess we'll see.
I wonder if all of this points to Red forced into revealing a secret to either Liz or Kaplan or something about some intricate relationship with the FBI coming to light. Dembe and Grey seemed to be relaxed about Red's initial surrender "he'll be OK he's with the FBI now" or something like that. From where he came originally, maybe
Well they have been promising since last November a major reveal near the end of the season.
Anxious but excited at the same time! LOL

Hmmm, I´ve often thought about a possible finale in which the task force would have to go underground, as it loses support by the FBI. I could imagine the next season showing that. It would again be one major turn, like they did at the end of season 2 and could offer an interesting dynamic (maybe a little bit like Person of Interest). Just a possibility though, but I'm really looking forward to this finale.
It seems like they are throwing in a lot of storylines which have to come together somehow.

I wonder if it eventually turns out that Liz has to go after Red. Maybe because of the outcome of the battle between Red and Kate. She could spend a good chunk of season 5 doing that. Of course it could easily be that there will not be a conclusion to the war between Red and Kate until the next season. Berlin didn't conclude until the next season, even though he was the title Blacklister for the season one finale two parter.
As far as the Task Force, I think it has been in someone's interest to keep it going. Now whether that was Laurel Hitchen and the Cabal so they could monitor Red or not, I don't know. But I have always wondered if there was someone else pulling some of the strings somewhere that kept it going.
But in the meantime I think a lot of story will hinge on whether or not Kate tells Liz that she had worked for her mother as Liz's nanny for almost four years. I am looking forward to their conversation tomorrow night.

Yeti - I do think Main Justice will shut down the task force. You may be right about it having to go underground. I can really see Aram and Samar going on the run with Reddington. I'm not sure if Liz would go with them - because of Agnes.

Tuxie - Aram would probably choose Red's side, Samar might hesitate, and it depends on what Kaplan tells whether Liz will choose for Red or Kaplan. From what I see in previews/synopsis for the next episodes, Julian Gale could be the one who might lead to closing the task force and hunting Red in the next season, if the finale turns out this way. Then there's Cooper who has had some arguments with Red about his self-interest lately. I see him being somewhere in between both teams, like agent Carter in Person of Interest.
Honey West - I think, even if the finale turns out this way, Kaplan will still go after Red, simply because he is still out there, though in a weaker position, so the battle will go on.
Interesting thought that someone had a special reason to keep the Task force going. If this is the case, then the investigation to Laurel Hitchin might be of more importance than I expected.
I'm also really looking forward to the next episode to see if there will already be any kind of revelation to Liz.

Yeti - I definitely think Gale will be the one who leads to closing down the task force. Identifying Diane Fowler's body among the 86 will be the nail in that coffin.

Interesting thoughts! Closing down the task force might be one outcome for sure. I wonder if in the process, it will reveal that someone was on the "other side" all along....several of us have wondered from time to time whether there's a "real" mole in the task force, or at least someone working for someone else with a different agenda.
If the task force is shut down, I wonder what will happen to Hitchins. Well, I wonder that anyway, LOL
I agree that the Task Force has been allowed to operate because someone wanted it to - whether its the gov or someone in the gov, i feel like it was part of a larger picture somehow. I wonder if that's why Grey said to Kaplan and Dembe, after Red surrendered, that he'll be OK , he's with the FBI
I hope that we are truly surprised with what happens. I think we will be!

Anyone noticed IMDb has listed stunt doubles for Christine Lahti and Adriane Lenox/Reven Wright for the finale? I'm wondering why Reven would need a stund double. Anyway, it seems like this plot is also coming to some kind of conclusion this season, which is nice.

The Yeti - thanks for that! I had not noticed. Hmmm, I wonder if we are going to get another flashback, with Reven. interesting!
