Honey West and Tatiana - oh yes I think Red is insane or has some kind of mental issue. Various people have called him crazy throughout the series, even on fire night. I wonder if stress makes it worse and that's why we are seeing such an unraveling recently
I absolutely think Red was talking about himself in the parable of the farmer. And he has described himself as hideous several times. How this all plays out is going to be v interesting
I'm so intrigued by Dembe's role in this. Did he actually do the poisoning, is he still on team Red, do they reconcile etc.
And I think it will turn out that Kaplan is all tied into events, people and situations that we had no idea about. Just my thought

Dembe: I think Red is going to do everything in his power to find Dembe and reconcile in any way he can. I don't think Dembe will be able to 'go back' to the way they were. Red's shooting Kate has caused a veritable spiritual war in his soul.
As for Kaplan, she's smart, intelligent, resourceful, knows everything there is to know about Red - his bank accounts, his businesses, his past. She knows how to be a criminal in a big way. And I still think when she said in the back seat of that car she had had enough. Red had lost his way. And now it was time for her to change and forge her own path. No more cleaner, but now chief strategist. And she has all the necessary resources at her fingertips.

Tatiana - yes, of course! I set up a separate page for each of 4.16 and 4.17 - as I thought the themes might be different so might work to keep them on separate discussion pages

hey I just rewatched the apothecary and the fake charity was set up to fund research into BUTTERFLIES.
I put that on the other site, I don't think that's a coincidence.

Hey Tatiana, what do you think Kaplan's endgame is though? if she takes down Red's empire and maybe kills him, then what? Does she then take over or leave it to be picked apart by Red's former rivals (and are they any better? At least Red does not kill "innocent" people - goes out of his way to try to avoid it). And what of Liz then? What is the endgame with Liz? Kaplan apparently doesn't share it. does she think Liz will be safe with Red gone? questions, questions! LOL!!!!

One of the promos seems to show Kaplan in the gym where the ICU was set up. hmmm.

I finally made the connection with Marvin's socks!
at the end of the apothecary where Marvin is tied to the chair in the flat, we first have a close up of marvin's shoes and socks next to the chair leg. Marvin is wearing socks that are wide black and white stripes. It seemed odd to me the moment I saw it.
Well in the Wizard of Oz, those are the socks that the Wicked Witch has on after the house falls on her and kills her. Wicked!! (no pun intended!!!)
