Oohhhh.  "Annie" is now listed as "Annie Kaplan" in IMDB for ep 17.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Indeed, the plot thickens!
Lets see, looking at the photos on a good screen for Requiem I see that Red is wearing two different ties, which one is current and which the flashbacks? He and Dembe are someplace where there are a lot of employment-type posters on the wall. I think one says "Lost your job?" So maybe unemployment office? The one with Dembe has to be a flashback, so not today.

Katarina is wearing the locket, you can see it clearly when she's wearing the ribbed sweater. She's got luggage on the bed in one photo. Is she coming or going? They are definitely at the Summer Palace, the blue dollhouse is in a couple of the photos. Kate is dressed the same when she is holding the baby as she is when she has on the rubber gloves. And where she looks sort of horrified by something. At least as horrified as Kate ever looks. I would hate to play poker with her!

I wonder if Sam knew Little Nikos too? Wasn't he supposed to have had a criminal background of some sort? Maybe he used Nikos' bail bonds? I think that photo is pre-Liz moving in with him, he looks a little rough. Maybe Kate originally met up with Red through Sam?

Oh, Thursday can't get here soon enough!!

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Honey West - wow you have great eyesight I didn't even notice the doll house - one of my favorite pieces!

That room looks like a mirror image of the room that Kirk led Liz into.  If you look at the angle of the door, the window and the doll house should be diagonally across the room, sort of the part of the room where Katarina is looking.  I remember that when they went through the door of Liz's room, the window and doll house were to the right, not the left, of the door.  Unless there was another window and another doll house on the left side of the room, that they did not show us or we did not see clearly.  I don't remember that being on that side of the room, or in fact, the camera showing much on the left side - it was all focused on the right side, with the table with the tea set, the doll house etc..  Then we saw the fireplace in sort of the middle of the room, with two little chairs in front of it.  But come to think of it, we were never shown the left side, including the bed where Liz would have slept - unless that was just a playroom of sorts.  Still, I don't think they showed the left side of the room.  Interesting, eh?

Also, I could be mis-remembering this entirely but the doll house looks different.  I thought it resembled more closely the Tacoma Park house, with a bay window on the left and the porch with a little turret to the right.  We can't see the entire doll house in these photos but it seems to have a turret in the middle, looks different.  Of course I could be remembering that entirely wrong!  I wish I still had the Mato episode to watch!  LOL

I'm thinking we will get some answers but not all - I think they are going to weave in threads from Mato, when Kate told the Annie/Little Nikos story; and some Summer Palace stuff based on what Kirk showed Liz.
And some of the aftermath of the fire.  a lot to fit into 40 minutes!

I'll try to re-watch Mato probably tomorrow. Plus, weren't there pictures?

Thanks TAtiana!  So it does look like the same doll house with the bay window. It's on the opposite side of the room though in the new pics, looks like.

Wallpaper and Dollhouse looks the same to me when I look at the photos side by side. The only difference is the photo with Old Liz is that there are 2 stuff animals surrounding the tower portion (I'm sure there is some architect word for it) of the dollhouse.

Thanks Patter. I'm not able to view them side by side so this helps!  Lol

They had to make room for the changing table!

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Don't forget, the Katarina era room is before the fire. The room Liz saw with Kirk is after the fire. That's if it is the same house, of course. If there was reconstruction it would be different. But I am also thinkin that those upstairs rooms are similar, but if they are on opposite sides then the layouts would of course be flipped.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

It could be the lighting, but that Liz photo dollhouse looks light green, not blue. But weren't there two of them? Or am I not remembering it right?
Just checked both photos. Different doll houses.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Honey West - as far as I remember they only showed one doll house , a blue one, on the opposite side of the room.

It could  be the lighting that it looks green in the spoiler photos. But if there are 2, that would line up with the other things in the room, of which there are also two - dolls, chairs, stuffed animals and so on.

I also wonder if there is another table and mirror on the other side of the fireplace. They never showed that part of the room.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

I keep going back and forth as to whether summer palace is fire house. I got the impression that it  (fire house) was where liz's father ( whoever he is) took her. But the fire memories are so messy and may even have 2 girls. So who knows?  Lol

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

It looks like the same doll house to me. The photo with Kaplan holding baby Liz you can see that odd diagonally placed window. If anything, that's the John Hancock that it's one and the same house.

The only other dollhouse we've seen is in the episode in which we presume Sam Milhoan lives. That dollhouse is different. I'm 99% confident that is Sam's house because on one of the walls you see part of a hanging poster and the letters "....key" - Sam was a hockey player or enthusiast.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

The dollhouse roofline is totally different.

But I had thought as I was driving in this morning. The two different looking babies that we see? What if one of them is from an earlier time and is actually Red?

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Omg I am going to have to get another closer look when I am back home later!  At first I thought where Kaplan is standing with the baby and the mirror was where the little table and chair are in the current photo but now I'm not sure. The window is angular but looks different

The most interesting thing for me out of The Today piece was either Al or James saying that we get answers about how some of these characters are connected but it is not what we think. ( except that maybe we refugees have thought of it!). Lol.

Thank goodness only 2 more days!!!  🤗

HW -  you know I am a believer in 2 babies/daughters lol. But I think maybe Kaplan would have to be younger in that photo for the baby to be Red?  Still we can't see her face close up. And you know I think she could have been his nanny way back when!

And I do think that line that Tom and Liz dropped about getting a nanny was pointing us to Kaplan as Liz's nanny. We can't be sure til we see the episode though. She could be a relative.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Ok, so I just had to do some detective work to see for myself because nothing spells obsession like spending hours poring over 'evidence' for a tv series ....
And I can confirm that they are the same dollhouses, but the lighting and filter are completely different. Plus, the one from the spoiler where Katarina is holding 'Liz'. It's much darker and grayer. The screen cap from "Mato" is very sunny, bright, and allover cheery.

Furthermore, the one with Katarina has a chair in front of the dollhouse so one half of the dollhouse is obscured.

So I looked solely at the design. and they both have the center 'tower' with sloped walls and a small, circular window, like a ship's porthole.
Then the top floor is a dark color trimmed in white and on each side is a gabled window in light trim.
The next floor below it (the second floor) is a light color with two windows on each side and a window in the middle, this time rectangular shaped like the others.

Re: 4.17 Requiem - EW article, Bokenkamp, Mr. Kaplan, two photos

Tatiana, I knew we could count on you to not let us down!  okay, good, I'm glad the dollhouse seems to be the same one. That would be too many doll houses!

And, I know, lara1, I was also thinking Kate would have to be younger for the baby to be Red. But it was an intriguing thought, you have to admit! Maybe he has a younger sibling and she was nanny to both of them? I watched the today clip before I left for work this morning, since it hadn't aired here yet. I kept thinking, poor JS, he's probably ready for a break at end of season, he's not a morning person, and he was probably having to direct his thoughts to,something they shot a couple of months ago. Not easy to answer questions under those circumstances. But I really think they need to slip Al Roker into an episode at some point. He's like their biggest fan! And I didn't get any real feeling as to it being the end of the show. But they didn't go anywhere near that question either.

As to the truth not being anything we think it might be. Well, they must not read our board, because I think we might be sort of close in some areas, or else we have at least brought up possibilities. I always go back to Kate's long-ago comment to Red about cleaning up after him for years. That always made me think back to his childhood perhaps.
