I liked Famke a lot before she was cast on Blacklist 2.0 - but I like her even more after seeing this q & a session. She's very honest in her opinions - doesn't always give the politically correct answer - and doesn't have a professional hack with her to varnish answers. Just a real person, and I like that very much!

Re: New Interview with Famke on Redemption Finale

She was just live on Facebook, and said the finale will have a cliffhanger, though later says she might work with Spader, IF there will be a second season (this last thing she mentions quite often), or on the main show. It seems to be like she is hinting there will be a second season of redemption and/or TBL, though I'm probably too optimistic.

I'm just wondering, is this actually possible? I mean, would she already know? I realize it is definitely not an official announcement but she seems to be suggesting the spinoff is not over yet. I'm probably just hearing things that aren't there at all though.

Re: New Interview with Famke on Redemption Finale

I saw part of that too. What I've been told is that once the news gets out it spreads like wildfire, so it's unlikely she or any of the other actors know. It is possible that Bokenkamp, Eisendrath and even Spader know.

But I am no expert on this either! Just sharing what I've heard :-)

Re: New Interview with Famke on Redemption Finale

My interpretation of what she has been saying is that it's basically the same as what we heard from Ryan a few weeks ago. That Redemption will end on a cliffhanger. If Redemption gets a second season, the story can be picked up there; and if not it can be picked up in some way onTBL if that is renewed.

I read somewhere that Famke had an option to work on TBL. I have no idea if that is the case but it seems as though it's been discussed , at least.

I dont know much about these things but my gut tells me that even if an actor knew at this point about renewal,  confirmation of that will come from a network source first and not from any of the actors

On a personal note, I not reading anything into what anyone says at this point - simply because I am driving myself crazy trying to do so!  Lol. 🙃🙃🙃

I am hoping we will know by month's end.

Re: New Interview with Famke on Redemption Finale

Although they are totally separate shows I think the smart money is on TBL to be renewed for at least one more season - short money on Redemption to be renewed - possibly for a 13 ep season (thus 21 overall)
and punter's coin on both being renewed for full (19-22 ep) seasons!

As far as characters who would be acceptable to returning to Blacklist - if TBL is the sole survivor my order of return would be as follows:

1. Tom - obviously, the hubby or initial fake hubby deal isn't exactly riveting TV and possibly the one huge mistake TBL producers made along the way. Megan Boone isn't strong enough to carry a show like this on her own - and I think future years of TBL will gradually phase away from the Liz character as the co-lead.

2. Nez - Tawny Cypress made huge inroads as establishing herself as more than just secondary scenery. She clearly demonstrated the capability of being a primary lead - or at worst a co-lead woman.

3. Solomon - Edi Gathegi does amazing work wherever he pops up. His TBL stuff was tremendous - his work with Tom, Nex & Famke on BLR was even better. If this production doesn't snap him up someone else will - to be sure!

4. Scottie/Famke - very good actress, still doesn't look 52 - but hard work and sweat have taken their toll- even at 6'0" she doesn't present much physical menace - mainly because she's fairly scant, might not be 125 lbs. Nothing close to the extreme menance her Xenia Onatop character provided in 007. Don't know what she could provide if she went over to TBL - especially in light of Samar, Liz, Nez, even Steamboat Annie (Heise)

5. Howard - Terry O'Quinn is a great character actor. But he's not very menacing anymore. He'd be a redundant black-lister if anything should he be re-cast on TBL.

Probably room for all but Howard if Dembe is killed, Liz is reduced and Ressler leaves the series.

Re: New Interview with Famke on Redemption Finale

BBB- you know I am really intrigued by what may happen tonight.  Because the Halcyon team is so fractured, just how do they get back together to work as a team?

And does howard survive?  I remember, Scottie is a Blacklister, Howard is not.  And is Red behind all of the Whitehall thing?

I'd definitely like to see the Nez and Solomon characters continue on TBL if Redemption isn't picked up.

I am lukewarm to the Scottie character, nothing to do with the actress,  the character isn't compelling for me.  I didn't think there was any real chemistry or spark in the scenes with Red either.  Maybe in trying to keep us guessing about whether she is good/bad her character comes off in too superficial a way.  That might be remedied if we find out which "side" she is.

Re: New Interview with Famke on Redemption Finale

Note on Black-listers - they're so intimidating and scary when we only know their name and reputation. Once we put a face to them the menace seems to dissipate. Exception being Karakurt
