Tatiana, Colleen and Iowa Watcher - I will take either Dunkin Donuts or Kripsy Kreme! I love donuts! Luckily neither is very close to me or i am sure I would be indulging on a regular basis! LOL ![]()

Unfortunately up in the nether regions of prairie Canada neither Krisp Kreme nor Dunkin' Donuts have arrived. However, we are besieged by approx. 4 million Tim Horton Donut shops. They sponsor hockey in communities big and small - Tim Horton was actually a star defense-man for the old Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1950s thru early 1970s. He died in a violent car crash in his early 40s - still an NHL player - when his Lamborghini (or Porsche) crashed a retaining wall of a highway between Toronto & Buffalo, NY.
Tim Horton is now owned by an American conglomerate, the same one that owns Wendys. Our former star Quarterback in Canada owns several franchises in the Detroit area (his hometown). Name of player is Kevin Glenn - he's still playing football - serves coffee and donuts in the off-season.

Just a quick update. Since Redemption debuted I've been lukewarm to the Scottie Hargraves character, little warmer to Famke Janssen.
Let me say this - after 4 full episodes of BLR - I can honestly say Famke Janssen has an incredible screen presence. Her acting is also superb - its the writing that's been hindering her character.

Good point. Agree completely.

BBB - I am also lukewarm to Scottie. For me I think the issue is the lack of a meaningful scene. We get small snippets here and there and I just feel its not enough to get fully engaged. I also think Famke is good, but when we get a 5 second shot of her tearing up, I feel like I can't really grasp it. In a fully developed character that would work but we don't know enough to know how to take it. That said I would think its a hard balance to achieve in an 8 episode spot.

I was thinking (dangerous thing for me, I know) about older actresses who have incredible screen presence.
Obviously, Famke at 51 is the one I think of currently - but she's rather new and sparsely used on American TV. The others are Viola Davis (also 51) and Jennifer Lopez (who's 48) who despite a few acting deficiencies commands the screen like no other.
In the old days of film the greatest command of the screen were actors like Marilyn Monroe, Rosalind Russell, Jane Russell, Grace Kelly & Ingrid Bergman. The Brits had a few actresses with incredible screen presence - the one that immediately comes to mind is Charlotte Rampling.

Frankly, in an 8 ep test-drive I'd have written the 1st 3 to 5 eps w/ Scottie featured as a cold-hearted automatonwho gets things done in quick and dirty ways. I'd have had fans clamouring for her demise - then I'd have turned her villain to heroine by saving Tom and Team Misfit in the field, not just in the corporate HQ! More of an unexpected turn - vs. the very gradual steer they've been feeding us.

BBB - a bit off topic, but I just saw Charlotte Rampling in a new film. It's called "A Sense of An Ending," British film.
I really liked it but I don't think its everyone's cup of tea. And well, I'm an Anglophile so that sort of film gets an additional half star from me just from the production and cast. LOL ![]()

A nice discussion about donuts courtesy The Winnipeg Free Press

BBB - after reading the donut article, I went on the Oh Doughnuts website and nearly went crazy craving their various offerings. They sound absolutely delicious and the varieties are all very enticing. Sadly (for me) they only deliver locally! LOL. Tomorrow I am going on a local donut hunt for sure! ![]()
Well no donut emoji so I'll pretend the candle is sitting on a lovely pink glazed donut! LOL

But anyway, I popped on here to say I do not see Kat listed in the cast of anymore episodes? ![]()
I do not know if it is just a mistake or are we going to see her just disappear too?

The Oh Doughnuts cost about $4 to $5 EACH - so they're definitely GOURMET DONUTS!
I'll have one for ya - and report back! Basically I suspect the idea is a mini-cake with a hole in the middle!!! lol
Our local cops - mostly misfits, lazies and depraved LOVE donut shops. . . . . but at 4 bucks a hit their $85,000 salaries won't pay for too many!

She could be too minor a character to be listed in the main cast. However, she had at least 40 seconds of solid screen time last episode - and she's been in at least 2, perhaps 3 of the first 4 eps so I don't know why they wouldn't list her.
She played Brooks - Sarah Shahi's "Shaw" replacement in Person of Interest - interesting she played it with an American accent. I would never have guessed her to be British

BBB - yes, those donuts are surely a once in a while treat! It looks like a lot of effort goes into their making, so hopefully that results in something very yummy! I look forward to your report! haha

eastcoast #72 - I would think that she would be on at least this next episode, as I don't think they would just drop her without explanation.....plus things were looking interesting between her and Trevor.....oh I mean, Dan.....Well even the paid love interests have more than one identity in these shows! LOL ![]()

Perhaps Scottie got wind of Kat's dalliance w/ "Trevor", went into Xenia Onatop mode and disposed of Kat in ways that only Ms. Onatop could understand - and network TV would dare not show!

Is Trevor / Dan one of Howard's 'plants' ? Or a Scottie 'plant' to verify Kat's loyalty ?
If the WSJournal reader only wants to extend his amorous cheer beyond Scottie, why reveal a different name to a woman he has already met ?
I think Trevor / Dan is more than a professional gigolo.

Ooh Trelliswires - excellent point!!
We've seen women use their feminine charms (Gina Zanatakos, Vanessa Cruz, Katarina Restova) and women have spoken about Red's charms having an influence on them. I wouldn't mind having TrevorDan around a bit longer. He's easy on the eyes ![]()

Trelliswires and Colleen - you know, that thought had crossed my mind briefly. But I haven't had a chance to re-watch yet.
Trevor/Dan seems very keen to "turn" Kat (away from her "cancellation" stance). I think his words to her may be working. hmmmmm
