Ryan Eggold News

According to Megan and Ryan's respective Twitter accounts, it looks like Ryan has made a movie called "Literally Right Before Aaron" that will make its debut at Tribeca next month.  I hope I am reading that correctly.  IMDB seems to have it, too.

Also, apparently Ryan was on the Today show today - maybe co-hosting?  not sure as I missed it, but he appeared on the show in some capacity.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

hmmm... Today Daniel Knauf dropped from all social media to focus on some creative work

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Knauf apparently deleted his Twitter page. Maybe it was too much of a distraction.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Yes, that's why I went looking at some of the other Twitter accounts, which I hadn't actually looked at in a while.  I think some of the BL writers and producers haven't tweeted for a while.  I don't follow them personally but that's what I've heard and there are not really any recent posts on some of their accounts.  Frankly, some of those discussions with "fans" can result in really nasty comments from those fans,  it must be very time consuming to keep up.

They've had nothing but searing criticism from 'fans' lately. Not too nice. I also think Daniel Knauf is truly a  creative spirit, not so much into social media.

Still. I had higher hopes for one more year of TBL. Things like this make me a little worried.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Add that to a meeting with network folks next week. Well, I hope it's positive!

Yesterday when Today went on set for Redemption, Al said Ryan would be on Today today. I recorded it, but haven't watched yet. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Honey West: Let us know how Ryan did on the Today show.
I had read about the network folks meeting next week as well. There was another piece I read (maybe someone here included the link) about the show's ratings. The straight ratings are not so good, but they talked about the 3 day ratings and that TBL does very well in Europe. Perhaps that will be a boost for one more year? I know TBL cannot run forever, but ... just one more, one more year!!! They've opened up so many doors which could be developed into their own episodes. Also, NBC owns 1/4 of TBL? TV Grim Reaper gives TBL 60% at renewal, which is positive.
Do you ever remember a tv show going into such a long break midway through spring?

Re: Ryan Eggold News

I think the long midway breaks and multiplie breaks are a new trend the networks are trying to be more competitive with cable channels and streaming services. Designated Survivor just came back this week after a midseason finale in December. That seemed like a very long break to me. It has to do with people getting used to binge watching shows with 9-12 episodes. I remain very positive about Blacklist's future and think we'll be hearing something about a renewal soon,

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Tuxie - thanks! I haven't been a tv/cable/Netflix follower ever so the whole ratings/renewal/show lingo is very new to me. What you say makes a lot of sense to me. I had forgotten about Designated Survivor, and yet that's the other show my husband likes to follow.

And thanks for your upbeat outlook :-) So many things (stressful) happening in real life, that I've become a little too dependent on TBL for respite from my worries. And that's why we started out as a "support group"

Tuxie, where do you go online to get the best updates on TBL? Spoilers, social media, news?

You're already following alyblacklist's tumblr. She really stays on top the Blacklist news and usually has it before anyone else. I just Google The Blacklist news and The Blacklist spoiler news.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Tuxie400, ditto everything Tatiana said! And Tatiana, I hope RL settles down for you! I know what you mean about support group. This is a welcome diversion and place of refuge from RL daily routine. My RL was going back to work full time three weeks ago after not working (voluntarily) for the past six years. My "normal" routine is totally upended. But I sneak off to BLR during my lunch break and I love reading all of your daily posts because being three hours behind you all, you've already had a lot to say for the day.  (cheerful).

I really only read our group, and I go to alyblacklist for behind the scenes and most news updates. I usually google the blacklist for news stories and I just started twitter although I am extremely new to it as a participant, but have read it for awhile.
For twitter I love Amir Arison and Hisham Tawfiq's stuff the best.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Honey West - since you have a lot of industry experience, what's the life cycle for casting calls and filming? There was an open call for TBL last October (mid-end) 2016. But I don't think that character was ever portrayed. If it's for a single episode, don't they usually shoot quickly after auditions?

Auditions are now being held for an obese female actor for the show.
Casting directors are seeking actors who are local to New York City.
UMMI is seeking an obese female actor for a TV role is THE BLACKLIST.
One day guest star, possible recurring.SAG-AFTRA.Shoot Date(s): 10/14/2016 – 10/27/2016.Role Details:

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Tatiana and others - this may cheer us up!  Interviews with both Famke and Megan from NBC press day.  The way they are speaking, I would be surprised if there is no Season 5.  The interviews follow each other, starting at around the 6.02 mark.

Thanks to Aly for posting this first

Tatiana, I echo Honey West.  Aly does a superb job in tracking Blacklist info and updates and more often than not has something before I have seen it (though I do occasionally find something before, but not for very long!).  She also has a separate site now for Redemption.  Her site is really the only one I look at, and its enough, apart from googling the Blacklist for news articles.

I occasionally drop onto discussion sites, but that's infrequent and they don't have a lot of upcoming news.  I am biased (!) but I find our discussions the best.  We go more in depth and the discussions back and forth often lead to new ideas among us.

OH Thank you! Lara!!!  I was getting my hopes crushed again while reading fan social media: Megan hates James. James doesn't want to do another year; Ryan has a new contract; everyone's stopped their social media; yadayadayada....

Why do I do this to myself!!!

I would think that was done with back in the Fall. I think they cast smaller parts fairly close to shooting. I think we've seen her, only she went from being obese to being black. Remember the woman who he was talking to on the phone? With the kid(s)? Rats, why am I not remembering the episode name... I had the idea they might have her on again. She fits in with his people like Glen, except that Glen is so cool that they bring him back fairly often.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

I agree with Honey West. Wendy went from being obese to being black in the Lipet Seafood Co. For some reason, they decided against the obese idea.

Tatiana #14 - I know what you mean with social media.  It does drive me a bit crazy at times.  Of late, I've been avoiding social media and related comments.  It just got to be too much!  LOL

Re: Ryan Eggold News

I did finally watch the Today's Take. Ryan was his usual funny and charming self. They talked a little bit about Redemption, but no real news. They talked about visiting the set a couple days ago when Ryan was in makeup and all bloody. Commented that they would interview him right then when he was a mess. Fake blood all sticky and messy. Then he just helped out in all the segments, giving away some laptops, helping Al cook breakfast stuff, etc. They like having Ryan co-hosting on the show, he's done that several times in the past.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

Thanks for the update, Honey West.  I somehow totally missed the Redemption thing and Ryan hosting so it was great to hear your brief recap!  I am sure there are bits posted on the web, will seek out.

And I saw Ryan's film listed on the Tribeca website, so apparently it will be screening at the Film Festival.

Re: Ryan Eggold News

I was scrolling through the Tribeca Film Festival website and found the description of Ryan's film, for those who are interested:

Literally, Right Before Aaron, directed and written by Ryan Eggold. (USA) - World Premiere. Still reeling from his breakup with college sweetheart Allison (Cobie Smulders), Adam's (Justin Long) world is thrown into further chaos when he's surprisingly invited to attend her wedding. Over a surreal weekend, he stumbles through a nightmarish rehearsal dinner and drinks his way through the reception as he thinks back on where it all went wrong with the one that got away. Ryan Eggold directs this refreshingly unconventional romantic comedy. With Ryan Hansen, John Cho, Luis Guzmán, Dana Delany, Lea Thompson, Peter Gallagher, and Kristen Schaal.

I don't have the Festival schedule as yet so don't know the date that it will be shown.
