I've started a thread under the General Discussion board called "Winter Hiatus" where we can share ideas and support each other through the endless days before us in anticipation of the Blacklist return on April 20th! Remember, it's a 2 hour long special, so check for times to make sure you see every moment!
But feel free to put spoilers or any specific comments in the appropriate section.

Hey! They've added another character to this episode on IDMB, Grey, Raymond's original right hand man.
I wonder if this means we'll see more from the pilot or the time just before Red turns himself in to the FBI?
I just keep getting more excited about this :-D

Tatiana - that is very interesting! Its not a younger Grey, so whatever flashback there is, has to be in the recent past. intrigued!

All this casting is really whetting my appetite for Number 17!!!

Yes, Tuxie!!!
I'm actually very happy that we're just getting it in dribbles, too.... Keeps the excitement going!
But the characters are so intriguing and we know we're going to get some real humdingers of reveals!

Its also interesting that there is a "betrayal" theme running through these names.
Mr. Grey betrayed Red.
Kaplan "betrayed" Red to protect Liz, Agnes and Red (she said)
Kaplan "betrayed" little Nikos (so she said) to protect Liz and Agnes
Little Nikos "betrayed, albeit under torture" Mato
Katerina betrayed Kirk with another man, or so we think
I wonder if we will hear about another betrayal, or just some backstory. I'm more than fine with either!!

Yes! and what does Red say about how he loves stories of betrayal as he begins the dinner with his associates?
Betrayal has been a huge theme this season.
Red: "Flashback:
I’ve always found stories of betrayal to be so compelling, so tragic for all those involved. Judas, Iago, men who were beloved by those they’d betrayed.

Remember when Fitch said to Reddington something like, I always liked you, Ray. And Fitch followed it with, "but you chewed through the leash."
Another Betrayal.

Actually Fitch said you were a pain in my neck, but I always liked you. It was Berlin who chewed through his leash.

Pain in the neck! Like Liz stabbing people in the neck with pens! and Kirk stabbing Red with the needle....

I find the addition of Grey interesting. As he is modern day Grey, along with modern day Little Nikos. We don't see a young Reddington listed, but we might not because we rarely see "everything" listed on IMDb before a show airs. But it did make me wonder if perhaps Red is the one telling the story, which might eliminate the need for a Young Red. And I wonder with the various people listed if we will get a big chunk of the history from the triangle all the way up to Red turning himself in, since Grey was with him that day. Of course if it's a Kaplan-story she would have been there through all of it so her story would reveal probably a fair amount of Red's story. But you can be sure we won't get everything, I think. (whistling)

Honey West, that is a good point. Only so much that can be told in 40 mins. My sense is that somehow Kaplan is back with Little Nikos (how she would get there we don't yet know), and Kirk (Rostov), Katarina and Kaplan are in scenes together so we get the back story there. Then maybe Gray separately, with or without Kaplan. As for Jason, he could be anyone - someone from back in the past, or maybe someone affiliated with Gray more recently. My gut reaction is that its the former, for no particular reason though! He could have been involved with the Rostovs, with Kaplan or with Red. I can't wait to see spoiler photos though I don't think that will be for a while! LOL

I'm mixing up 4.17 and 4.18, but isn't the flashback 4.17? Anyway, that photo on aly's site today of Grey and Dembe sitting in a car makes me think things do not bode well for Dembe.

Honey West - I think the flashback with Kaplan et al is in 4.17, and the Dembe episode is 4.16

That's what I meant. Is it a photo of two of Red's "betrayers"? Who didn't make it, once discovered?

I think Dembe and Gray are just in a flashback scene of more recent times.

I hope so! (unsure)

Thanks, Honey West. In fact I hadn't seen that picture until you pointed it out.
What I'm hoping is that we get some background on Grey, and, through that, further clues to Red.
I guess we will see!

I was very excited to see these "behind the scenes" which Aly posted this afternoon. Just when I was giving up hope of ever getting any spoilers for episode 4.17. Can't wait!
Not only are we getting Kaplan but we are getting the actor who played Sam! And a house!
I wonder if this could be fire house (it looks like an older house which has been more recently renovated or remodeled) or it could maybe be Sam's house way back when?
