description of the episode, courtesy Aly Blacklist.
This is the final episode before the winter/spring hiatus, Feb 23. Looks intense!!

Well that explains them shooting in a pharmacy. Looks like we may get a real cliffhanger for this hiatus.

Oh dear, I had a thought. What if the "betrayer" is Liz?

Honey West - hmmm. will have to watch this week's episode carefully for any clues.
So I'm wondering how Red is "dosed" - poison in his food, or an injection (a la Kirk (no I don't think Kirk is back though). Both would require close access, but in order for someone to actually jab Red with a needle, (or the tip of an umbrella for example!) I think it would have to be someone extraordinarily close - Dembe, Baz or yes, Liz. Food poisoning would be a bit easier - access would be needed but the person would not have to get within inches of Red to pull it off. Of course, it could always be someone rogue - a blacklister that is able to somehow get close to him in passing.
I think if it were Liz, that would do in Red for sure.
I wonder if they will reveal to us whether or not he survives before the break, and/or who the person is?
I am very very intrigued by what will happen.

Maybe he gets stabbed in the neck with a pen again. Only this time it's a poisoned pen.
Then again maybe it has to do with this week's blacklister who poisons her victims.
Or, since this is the episode that leads into Redemption right afterwards, maybe it has to do with Tom and why he really has to get out of Dodge quickly. Either he does it or, if it's Liz, perhaps Red forces Tom out of her life and she finally has enough of him messing up her life and she decides to end things the only way she has left, killing him, or making it possible for someone else to do it. And then Dembe would have to tell her The Truth, and she would have to decide to save him. Now that would be a messed up scenario! I keep thinking about the painting, which I still think was a warning to Red that meant "she will be the death of you." (is that the emoji for "uh-oh!")

I had another look at the spoiler photos for this Thursday's episode and I think that scene where Red is talking about how death is stalking him from the corners of the room occurs in this upcoming episode.
so maybe there will be some solid clues (well, solid for TBL, LOL!) as to what is coming....

I think so, too. Because the preview I saw tonight had a quick cut to him talking about death slouching towards him in with other preview scenes that we've seen. So I guess we will find out who he is talking to.

Ooh - I've been out of the Blacklist loop for a few days. The Apothecary does sound intense. I don't ever see Liz intentionally harming Red. The only way she poisons him would be like she infected the senator at the end of Season 2 - where someone else engineered her to unknowingly do it. There's no way Dembe would harm Red either. Baz has no reason to. Who are Red's other confidants? There's a whole lot about his life that we don't know.

Tuxie400 - I wonder if its someone trying to avenge Kaplan, something that maybe Red never saw coming. Was there any kind of dialogue earlier this season where someone mentioned that the troops (Red's) are restless given the treatment of Kaplan? It would have probably come up in the episode with Red living in the church, where Dembe is praying. I just can't remember whether that was actual dialogue or one of the theories/thoughts from someone in our group!!! LOL Though my view is that Red's troops may not have considered it unjust - maybe it has happened before with someone else (other than Newton, but that is one example)

I don't remember any dialog indicating the troops were restless or upset about Kaplan. Dembe's dialog was that he was praying for forgiveness, but it wouldn't come. However, since Mr. Kaplan was likely Red's oldest and dearest ally, I imagine his other employees would be a bit worried.

Promotional photos released. this should be the final episode before the break that leads into Redemption, Redemption airing right after it on the same night, as I understand it.

Looks like snakes are involved in the toxin design. And it was maybe in a glass of wine? At least Red probably thinks so at some point. Also appears to be one of his mobile-hospital-rooms-in-a-warehouse. I wonder who sets those up in place of Mr. Kaplan? But, I would think that Red has backup people to his regular people. Although the way things are going, he might run out of trusted people before too long.

Honey West - I think your synopsis is spot on.
Is there any information on episodes after Redemption airs?
I'm getting really nervous that TBL may be discontinued after this season.
Thoughts? I think the networks usually announce cancellations and new shows in February/March, right?
And don't they usually leak out the names of future episodes several weeks ahead of time?
I will need to be locked up in a crazy house if they end it without notice.

Tatiana and Honey West - I share your nervousness though overall ratings esp with +3 are strong.
I think we have had info on Ep 4.15, that is the last one before the hiatus, so I don't think we will be hearing about more BL for a little while, maybe? It returns around April 23.
Honey West, you mentioned on another thread that might JS announce on Today whether BL is renewed for Season 5? If it helps, I can offer that I believe that James has appeared on both Today and Tonight over the past few years, between Jan and March - I guess it depends on how the intra-season breaks are timed. He was on TODAY in Feb 2015. Maybe it is more that the recent scheduling has been so choppy, including with a repeat for some reason the other week, which made some people think it is now on hiatus - I wasn't surprised the ratings were low last week. Also there's a bit of confusion I think over when TBL goes on hiatus and how its working with Redemption. I myself wasn't aware until recently that TBL is supposed to air at 9PM Feb 23, followed by Redemption at 10. So maybe its to help clarify a few things....
Just trying to help us collectively feel better.....

Tatiana, I keep wondering the same thing. I hope we are not right. But they did promise that they would wrap it up before they go, so that's some solace, if that's the case. I can't remember when they announced renewals last year, but I remember JB saying that they knew back in November or December that they were renewed for season four. So they would probably know by now, I think. I am subscribed to some notification website that supposedly will say when they announce it. Of course, I suspect we will hear it via regular channels at the same time. And I really suspect that JS may be going to say something next week. Or else, it's like I said and maybe his appearance on TODAY what seems like a week earlier than would be expected is just a matter of his schedule. I don't think they will go on a filming hiatus during the Redemption hiatus. It sounds like they always get a bit behind near the end of the season so this gives them the chance to catch up. Hisham indicated that they probably canceled filming for the day due to the weather on his Twitter page yesterday, so the eight week buffer is probably a good thing!
I only know about the next episodes based on some photos posted on AlyBlacklist's Tumblr page this week and just a few hints from Amir and Hisham on Twitter. They both keep saying a storm is coming and it sounds like that's what they are working on right now. There were photos of a night shoot and they said they had seen JS on the set, of course we know that they can't kill him with the poison yet or the show would end immediately. And there was a photo of two chairs that said Hisham Tawfiq and Aram Mojtabai. Just stuff like that, but so far I haven't seen any titles past The Apothecary. Since they were just filming in the pharmacy, that shows how close to the wire they are getting with the filming schedule before air time. They need those 8 weeks! They have been a little slower leaking out episode titles this season, I've noticed.
Just my thoughts.

Saw your post after I posted, lara1. I think you are probably right. When JS was on Tonight recently he was very emphatic about everyone needed to tell everyone they knew that the new episode aired Feb. 2nd at 10 PM. I think people are getting confused as you said.
And the +3 and +7 ratings have been good.

Alyblacklist has a few more Apothecary photos this morning. In one, is it my imagination or is Red talking to Marvin Gerard?

Honey West - I just saw this. I didn't see Marvin Gerard in those photos, but I could be wrong. It would be awesome if it were! I really liked Marvin.

Yes! Lara, I was looking at AlyBlacklist and I was certain I saw the back of Marvin's head LOL!
This really piques my interest. I'm excited
