Episode 8.11 - Captain Kidd

"It was a dark and stormy night. Suddenly, a pirate ship appeared on the horizon..." LOL!

I know it’s not about pirates, but I wonder how many will get that quotation?

“I am exactly who I am. And I can assure you, I’m a far more interesting Raymond Reddington than Raymond Reddington ever was."

Thanks for starting the thread HW!

I have Coconut 🥥 Cake and homemade candy for tonight!

What do you have IowaWatcher?

Anyone else have any treats?

It's a shame you have no crackers

Re: Episode 8.11 - Captain Kidd

I do! Snoopy, by way of Edward Bulwer-Lytton. The full sentence: "It was a dark and stormy night;the rain fell in torrents--except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness."--  Paul Clifford(1830)

Also the inspiration for the awesome annual 'Bulwer Lytton Fiction Contest'  - the opening sentence  for an imaginary bad novel!

LOL! RedIsMyCopilot! You win! That’s exactly it! Snoopy on his doghouse typing his great novel! I try to look at the contest once in awhile when I remember it. Pretty funny!

Re: Episode 8.11 - Captain Kidd

Ha! Red's Copilot beat me.
I know of no other show that would open with a reading from "Tell Tale Heart," either. Wow.
Eastcoast, great minds! Chocolate cake here. I bought the last slice at the deli.

Not sure about tonight's show. I liked the back half better than the first half, again. I also hate it when someone is stuffed into a box.

No Liz tonight. I'm starting to greatly dislike Agent Park, although I'm not sure why.

I hope that they don't actually kill Cooper. That would stink.

That's all I have for the moment. It's been a long week. Maybe I'll go to bed early and have some insights.

Re: Episode 8.11 - Captain Kidd

Another Liz-Less episode. Went from the brilliance of last week's affair to a total sludge in the drudge!
Only decent part of this one was the verbal encounter between Red & Harold in the first third. Other than that, some droplets of good acting from the kid who played Capt. Kidd and Andrew - who bears a very strong resemblance to Tom Keen. Aram finally trying to establish his independence - he was the best of a bad lot of "Post Office" personnel.

Sorry folks - I call 'em as I see 'em . . . ! ! !

Re: Episode 8.11 - Captain Kidd

Aram ran away and joined the circus? Awesome!

How long has it been since the last time they buried somebody in a box? Not counting dead people, of course.

"I am not a traitor to this country". Loved this scene between Red and Cooper. And Reddington’s bit about being the puzzle that Cooper is trying to solve. That pretty much sums up what we have all tried to do, doesn’t it?

I guess next week we'll have to see if Red will sacrifice either Cooper or Rakitin. Anyway, that may be one plot point that finally comes to a head. And like somebody else said, this may be what finally brings Liz back.

I also enjoyed Ressler and Aram working together in the field. Actually, I’ve really been enjoying what they’ve been doing with Aram. He’s such a fun character.

There's no question Aram is one of the ongoing fun characters of TBL . . . . he's doing double duty know that Glen passed away!
Ressler is always a day late & a dollar short - - - thats how the show-runners portray him and the actor who plays Donald Ressler is a tremendous craftsmen - - - portraying Ressler as a by-the-book stiff.
I'm agreeing with many that perhaps Laura Sohn's time has come and her character should be offed. If they could only bring back Samar in an ongoing role - NOW IS THE TIME
The Aram Circus was brilliant writing - especially when Aram actually disclosed his "eventful" 4 day run in a travelling circus (are there any other types?)

I agree. I found the episode pretty boring and have nothing to contribute to the discussion., except this:  I need Liz back!!!

I know she's been back on-set, and I thought it was for probable 8.12, but since they shoot two at a time it could be 8.13. I haven't been searching for photos, but Screenspy usually has them.

Honey West - I saw the photo of Megan and all the birds.  I thought it was strange that we only got a rear view of her.  I doubt that we will see her on-screen until late April.
