Re: Episode 8.4, Elizabeth Keen,

Wow! Score one for Liz! She outwitted Red, but I suspect her victory will be short-lived. I liked the last five minutes and will re-watch at least that part.

Eastcoast, I had homemade chocolate pudding with some homemade whip cream. I made a full batch and then split half of it with a friend who just had surgery and was longing for some. Mmmm! I had forgotten how good the real stuff is!

Re: Episode 8.4, Elizabeth Keen,

IW, I have been thinking about homemade pudding.   I bought some organic chocolate but that is as far as i got.
It has been a busy week!  Soooo, I got my favorite cake again along with icecream and whipped cream.

I imagine it will be short lived.  There is always a price to pay.  I think her new friend Skip has seen better days.

Redismycopilot,  funny!! ☺🐐🐐

Re: Episode 8.4, Elizabeth Keen,

I have mixed feelings about this episode. I loved the humour in the scenes where Liz tried to turn Red's allies. I also don't mind Liz going against Red (although this turn came in a very implausible way), but the writing is weak. It's unbelievable how easy it is for Liz to go to the post office while only Aram is there. I know the field agents are away but there should still be security. Also, why does her badge still work if she's hunted by FBI? Then I am also baffled by how easily Red fell for the Marvin trick and how he immediately gives Skip access to everything. I enjoy the idea of Liz vs Red, but I really hope the plot will get more plausible in the next episodes.

That being said, I like the new plot that is being set up with the Russians and it's exciting that Sikorsky now has a face. I was afraid they'd just drop that plot now that Katarina is gone, but it seems like we're actually getting a very interesting storyline. If they also come up with some interesting Blacklisters for the next episodes, I think this season could actually be pretty good despite the first few episodes.

Re: Episode 8.4, Elizabeth Keen,

Hi TheYeti! Good to see you here!

I didn't comment last night because I had to take a phone call in the middle of everything, and had to watch that part again. But I also wondered about some of those points you made. The biggest one being how could Liz get back into the Post Office by just swiping her badge and also why didn't security pick up on her being there? The only thing I could come up with was that someone wanted her to be able to do that. The only person I could come up with who could do it at that level would be Cooper. Maybe that was what he was actually saying to Aram and Ressler when he refused their resignations.

About Red and the Marvin trick. I figured that Skip was Marvin's backup anyway and had been vetted and plus I'm sure he knows what happens when you cross Red, etc. But Red is not right these days. And it was quite plausible that someone like Skip, who doesn't have a decades long relationship with Red like Marvin does could and would jump ship if he sees that Red is beginning to fail. And who better to jump to than Red's designated successor. I'm sure he knows Red won't harm Liz and I'm sure Liz knows that if he could betray one boss, he probably can't be totally trusted by her. Either way, I don't think Skip will be with us for long. And the whole thing points out how Red is just not thinking clearly right now.

I also am happy with this return to the Russian stuff, because that is part of the core story and I love spy stuff anyway! So we know Red is/was N13. He has always worked as a facilitator for other, powerful, interests. We know that about him from the beginning. Regimes rise and fall based on his providing his services to the parties involved. We just haven't seen a lot of that for the past several seasons. It's good to be getting back to that stuff. I can see how they could fill a season 9's worth of stories. Way back, I always saw Red as being part of maintaining a certain balance in world power by who he was and what he did. Maybe that was not so far off? And that Red always saw Liz as special, and his successor. When Liz "died" he even said, in Cape May, how he would give anything to be a part of Agnes' life. Perhaps he was even looking at Agnes as an eventual successor after Liz was gone.

But my big takeaway from the episode was the final scene with Sikorsky. Red telling him that Liz was not to be harmed and Sikorsky saying that was okay - for now. And the look on Red's face as he looked just a bit alarmed.

Re: Episode 8.4, Elizabeth Keen,

As for security about the Post Office, I doubt that Cooper would have revoked Liz's access. He wants her to come in, so he can talk her out of the war with Red.

I have so many questions about Sikorsky and his connection to Red. Did you guys know the actor who plays Sikrosky is transgender?  That's right. He used to be a woman.

What about Red and his drug cocktail?  So many bottles!

It was fun to see Tadashi again, and I'm glad he and the others didn't turn on Red.

Does Liz have her own jet now?

It was funny seeing Aram and Ressler handing in their resignations.  They know they're powerless when it comes to Liz.

I enjoyed Dembe's question to Red.  So the great strategist never had a plan when it came to Liz - sort of hard to believe.

Re: Episode 8.4, Elizabeth Keen,

I agree with a previous poster in the 16 ounces thread that Liz will now go after Dembe. Dembe had a slew of unusually emotional lines this week. In TBL code - thats a very ominous sign for one's future!

I really loved how Liz worked her way thru Red's list of despicable lovelies. Even kept memories of Glen alive. Kinda emotional - if you loved Glen.
