Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

I definitely think Liz has her own agenda.   Probably thinks it's the only way she will get answers.

I wish they had just finished the season doing this. Or at least one more episode to give us a proper finale.

Yes, another episode would've been great! I think they just ran out of time. Animation is labor-intensive, and then they had to edit the dialog because it was all done separately.

They left themselves some wiggle room with that finale.

Honey West - I can see Dom getting smothered with a pillow too.

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

The reason I think Liz is really on Fakerina's side is because of what she said to Dom.  Why would she speak anything other than the truth to a man in Dom's condition? To me, she was outright picking Fakerina over Dom and Red.

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

Tuxie, that's a good point.

If lara1 was still on here she we would have loved the 3 way shot of KR!

I was wondering, do you believe KR didn't know why they are after her all these years?  I think she knew about the file.  Why else would she have been asking Red to give her what she needs in the beginning of the season?

I cant help but wonder what else she really wants?
She called that guy and said they might have a problem.

If Townsend thinks she's dead and has paid the bounty, why is she still worried about it?  Get a new name, hair color and move on.

Liz also led her to where Dom is, so the pillow scene might be coming.  KR isn't going to let that place go.  She knows Red got medical help there, and she might figure Dom is there.

Now that I've rewatched,  I'm rethinking the end.  Liz said at the end of season 5 that she was going to destroy Red.  When they came back in 6, she lost that attitude.

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

Eastcoast - I don't have any idea what Fakerina really knows. I still think she's not the older version of the Lotte/Katarina. She believes RR is the real RR.  I don't know if that's because her memory was wiped or what.  She does know about the medical facility because they took Red there and she had Liz followed there. I can see her smothering Dom with a pillow in Season 8.

You are right about the Townsend Directive.  If the bounty has been collected, I would think Fakerina would have no problems - except for Red.

I've never disliked Liz until now.  Her siding with Fakerina puts me over the edge. I could understand her attitude at the end of Season 5, but not now.  What happenened to her Love Wins philosophy?  What happened to her believing Red was her father and Agnes's grandfather, even if he was not a blood relative?  I've been rooting for Liz all these years, but this really puts me over the edge.

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

HW: (re: online meetings -- a piano in the background sure beats the stack of dirty dishes I saw this morning! I think I would've sat on the other side of the kitchen table so something else was in the background.)

Tuxie and Eastcoast -- what if part of Fakerina's mission is to locate the real KR's body or find out that really happened to her? That would help explain to me why she didn't call off the meeting (and expose her whereabouts to Red).

The more I think about the episode, the more I think I'll rewatch it and the first one of the season with that in mind.

There might have been some changes of mind on the part of the show runners about whose side Liz would be on as the end neared. Since they were renewed for Season 8, I'll bet that has an impact on how they will need to revise the story arc.

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

IW, I have considered that she could be looking for the real KR.

I have had a flood of thoughts since the finale.

I was thinking again about Red bring sick,  and it brought me back to the Pilot.  Zamani was sick and wanted revenge before he died.  Red has a Blacklist of people that he apparently wants taken care of before he dies.

I was thinking again about the file.  She also lied to Liz by talking about why they are after her. If Townsend thinks that she is dead, then he isn't after her anymore.  Liz knows she faked her death.

I'm also wondering about what Dembe said. I went and looked at it again.  When the guy asked him if Townsend knew, he said no.  How Does he know?  Does he know him?
And how did the Brothers prove she was dead?  They didn't take her body, yet they paid that much money?

Ooooh, EastCoast, that is an excellent question.  I'll be pondering the angles on that for a while, grateful for a break from Liz-angst. C

Normally I put links to articles in either Spoilers or Links, but since this is a special episode I’m putting the link here. Another article about the gutsy move to animate.

Cate, good to see you on here again!

The whole thing doesn't make sense.  I'm sure Red knows Townsend if Ilya knows him.  I'm wondering why he paid the money without a body?  Red was the one who saw it with Dembe.  Is it possible Red told Townsend?

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

So I finally re-watched the episode last night. I figured, well it's Friday night, I'm not going anywhere why not?

I guess I watched the animation so much the first time that I missed a lot of little things in the story. LOL! In the "previously on the Blacklist" part at the beginning Dom definitely says he knows who Red really is. So unless he was lying, then he is one of the people who knows/knew who Red really is. I have a feeling that before he regains consciousness he's going to have a close encounter with a pillow much like Sam did.

Somehow I totally missed Katarina telling Liz why she was saving Red. Because he is important to you - and he was important to me once. Hmmmm.

The Kazanjian Bros. were "taken for a little ride". I guess we won't be seeing them again.

You guys brought up a good point about Townsend and paying the bounty. What if Red is Townsend? Or Townsend "works" for him? Maybe T doesn't even know it.

People want this Sikorsky Archive. It sounds like a Fulcrum of some sort. A blackmail file. They think Katarina stole it. She said that Red knows she didn't and that he probably knows who did steal it, but he won't come forward and clear her or tell her where it is, if he knows. I wonder if Red stole it?

Anyway, just some extra random thoughts after the rewatch. I still don't know how I missed some of the stuff when it first aired. Preoccupied, I guess.

Hope everyone is well and staying safe and healthy. We are seeing our 2 1/2 months of lockdown go for naught as cases are skyrocketing out here. Luckily I don't work and don't need to go out except for groceries and to check on the old folks in the family. I had been planning a lot of travels this summer. Hopefully next summer will be better. My sweet old kitty has been doing pretty well once we got her over a major crash in May. Her official birthday is next Wednesday and she will officially be 20 years old. I've never had a cat this old before, and her age presents unique challenges in caring for her. So maybe it's okay that I can't travel right now. I guess things happen for a reason after all.

Stay well, and I will probably post a new thread when the DVDs come out in August.

Re: Episode 7.19 - The Kazanjian Brothers

Glad you got the chance to rewatch.

The old pillow over the face would fit well given he is in bed.

KR saying that this Red once meant something to her was interesting to me.  Was she saying she knows who he is?

I would imagine Red most likely knows Townsend or who he is and how to contact him.  I say that because Ilya knew who he was.  He also seemed a bit fearful of crossing him.
I have wondered if Red spoke with him and told him he saw her killed.  He obviously didn't see her body but still paid them.  Red saw it and it was paid.  It was Dembe who told Red that the TD was back in play.  So if Red is Townsend, that might mean Dembe doesn't know.

It is a bid odd to me that the Fulcrum and the Sikorsky Archive appear to have went missing around the same time.
KR seams to think Dom knows who took it or where it is.

Unless they can talk Chuck and Morgan into dropping them off at the nearest bus stop, I don't expect to see those brothers again either HW!

There seem to be cases surging in a lot of places.  Glad you don't have to go out too much.  I'm so glad I'm retired and don't have to go out too much.

Happy 20 years to Kitty!
