Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

KathyN - I agree, Redarina is ironically the most logical theory. All others are on less firm footing. It would also support the comments Bokenkamp made early on about not being sure the networks would allow him to go with his surprise ending.

There's been a lot of discussion about Liz and how can she be so naive as to think this lady next door is just a sweet dear grandma. I don't find it surprising when you consider that she has no family, her husband has been murdered and all she has is her little daughter, a notorious criminal who she's adopted as her father, an old man in the woods who she's desperate to have get close with Agnes, and now a new but nice old lady has come in to fulfill her need for a gentle mother/grandmother type.
Liz has been craving a family her whole life.
She's been craving her very own family so much that she's been willing to accept a monster as her father and a pathological liar and criminal as her husband.
When you put in in this context it makes complete sense to me that she'd want to let her guard down every once in a while and just be "normal".

So true!  And to take it a step further,  it seems to fit her pattern to immediately trust bad people, some of whom were specifically targeting her, befriending her, for a nefarious ulterior motive. Really dark, duplicitous people are the ones she allows to get closest.   She did it with Tom first, then with Red, and now with Maddy. I assume she's close to Scotty as well. It must be something in her upbringing, being abandoned by her parents and raised by a grifter. And her genes, having spies on both sides of her family tree.  Maybe to her, what feels like family for her is the criminal.  That's who she subconsciously resonates with when forming family bonds.   The girls need therapy

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

I agree, Tatiana, Liz really wants her white picket fence dream.
But here is the real issue for me. Red. Here he was nearly killed by this woman and before that Liz had told him that with Katarina Rostova definitely out of the picture she felt safe in bringing Agnes home. Well, Red knows that this woman, whoever she really is, is back in the picture and would seem to pose a definite threat to Liz and Agnes. He knows she’s out there. He would have to know she would go looking for Liz and would probably find her. So why hasn’t he taken any measures that we know of to watch out for her?  Does he know something that makes him think she's not a threat? Or is his secret so important that he won’t risk warning Liz about this woman so she has a chance against her, thereby endangering Liz and Agnes? The latter doesn’t seem too likely to me, but might be a possibility. A third possibility might be that he does have someone watching Liz and Agnes but is using them as bait to draw out Katarina. He may think that Katarina wouldn’t do anything until she gets what she’s looking for from Liz so he has time to draw her out  for whatever reasons. Or it could be that she really is Liz's mother and he is trusting that she would not actually harm them any more than he would. That Liz Immunity From Being Harmed thing. But I really cannot believe that, whatever Liz is doing trusting this strange woman, Red isn’t doing something because he definitely knows she is out there. Odd, very odd. We are obviously missing some key information here.

Tatiana,  that Graveyard!!!  I thought it might have been me, but thank you for saying something.

Honeywest,  you summed up very nicely what I was thinking.  I think Liz thinks he would tell her who this is if he knew.
Red lives on the edge.  He really cuts this close sometimes. He may be allowing things to play out thinking he can save Liz if anything goes wrong...

Wow KathyN!  I'm surprised to see you in the Redarina camp, but, as everyone knows, I agree Redarina makes the most sense.

Tatiana -  You give a good examples of how Liz seems to gravitate toward criminals as family. I hadn't thought of it like that.

Maybe her real name was Masha Corleone.

I surprise myself !  I was so firmly in the other camp until I switched. But you're right, it makes the most sense.

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

Did anyone notice...  Liz was telling the wicked witch that her new nanny had quit and Agnes was due home soon.  She was stuck at work.  Right?  How did she get into her apartment?  Are we to think she told her not to worry because she had already made a key to her place?
Or, did I miss something?

Eastcoast - Maybe Agnes comes equipped with her own key.

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

Agnes was alone and let the Wicked Witch in. lol

Actually, there's a definite time gap here. Wicket Witch convinced the new nanny to bypass Liz's job. Liz got the call while at the Post Office. So it begs the question of how WW made her way into Lizzie's apartment.

The script-writers & continuity editors just dropped their pants, I suspect.

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

Tuxie, she could have a key.  I was thinking that it is out there that this is the granddaughter of RR and KR.  Not to mention the Hargraves.
High probability of her being kidnapped.  The thought of her having a key for a kidnapper to let themselves in so easily makes me cringe a bit.  Not that they can't get in if they wanted to, but seems so easy to take a key from a 4 year old or steal her backpack.

BBB, lol. 😂

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

Another thing would be Liz could have called the building superintendent and asked to have Maddy let in the apartment.

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

I think having the super let her in makes a lot of sense. How was she planning on letting the nanny in?  Was the super going to let her in and now is letting in Maddy instead?  (I can't imagine Liz handing over keys to her apt, even to the nanny, but she's been acting really careless these days so maybe she did give the nanny keys).  Maybe she left a key under the mat, or under a flower pot, etc.  for the nanny.   Another possibility is she sent a key to Maddy via messenger service or uber.   How does Agnes get home from school?  Maybe whoever drops her off has the key.  Lots of possibilities!

Re: Episode 07:04 - Kuwait

The outside unnamed guards that Harold posted to Lizzy's building may have keys and could have escorted Agnes in. Frankly, vs. Mad Maddy I don't like their chances for survival.
