Mr. Kaplan's Ride

We all saw the cliff-hanger/teaser about Kate (Mr. Kaplan) hitching a ride with a yet to be determined driver.

She's on her way back - whether she shows up at Red's door (for mercy) or operates a parallel team to protect Liz and the child, who knows? We're really at the mercy of the writers and show-runners on this one folks!

However, what I'd like to see is that the driver of the pick-up is none other than Mountain Man (and possibly a posse of his friends) who are taken by Kate's misfortunes and offer their services as Kate's Mountain Man Posse. I think that would give us another nice, believable minor angle added to the multiplicity of angles we already have.

And I think Mountain Man & Kate would be unique - especially when Mountain Man discovers Kate's background and her skill level in the international world of espionage, thievery, brutality and murder. Under her tutelage they could form their own version of "Kate's Hillbillies"....

BBB - Kate's Hillbilllies.... LOL

I've been thinking about Kate also.  I do think she will be back later in the season but I don't think it will be soon.  From all of the various spoiler photos we've seen of the first few episodes, as well as those that got pictures of the filming, I haven't seen Susan.  But I do look forward to the next step in her story.

Happy New Year!

BBB - I love reading your posts! "Kate's Hillbillies" or "Mountain Man and Kate" would be awesome titles for the next Blacklist spin-off!

Glad you like the posts Colleen - perhaps its my total disconnection from reality that makes them funny?

Anyways, have re-thought the title - Susan is a bit too young to play Granny and the closest thing we've got to Elli Mae is either our Mossad Queen or Lipstick Liz.

So with all due respect to Quenton Tarantino - I suggest the spin-off be re-titled "The Beverley KillBillies" - its more in line with what goes down during our great episodes!!!

Re: Mr. Kaplan's Ride

hi there,
while re-watching this episode last week, I noticed that the truck that picked up Mr. Kaplan had what appeared to be bales of hay in the back of it.  Anyone else see this?  So I don't think it was Dembe that picked her up.  Hmmmm,  I suppose it could have been mountain man but not sure he would have bales of hay - he wasn't running a farm or similar as far as I can see though he might have been cultivating some vegetables or things of that sort.  Anyone remember whether there were bales of hay visible in or around Dom's barn/external property camera shots?  Not sure he was running a farm either! but maybe he's a more likely candidate to have bales of hay on the property.

Anyone else see this or have thoughts?  Seen anyone else in a country context? Or did that hay not exist and do I need my glasses again?  LOL!!

Back to the snow - first big storm of the season.  !

lara1 - I did see the bales of hay. I think some random farmer gave her a ride. I don't think that person plays into the plot though.

Re: Mr. Kaplan's Ride

Like Kate said, if Red even suspects that she survived there is nowhere she'd be safe. I'm sure she has headed out to parts unknown. At least for awhile. I wonder if something might draw her back someday, but I don't think that is in play right now. But she does exist as a character they can still use if needed.

Re: Mr. Kaplan's Ride

Honey West - I would love to see Liz or Tom track Kaplan down and help her in some way. Maybe Tom could get her a job at Halcyon.

Re: Mr. Kaplan's Ride

Well, if Tom can't get her on with Halcyon - there's probably a job waiting at NCIS:LA to replace Hetty

Tuxie400 - I can't believe i Never saw the hay before!  LOL.  I'm still inclined to think Kaplan knew the driver, whoever it was.  No words were exchanged, she got right in and I think she smiled as she opened the door of the truck.  Kaplan is usually so tight lipped with betraying any emotion.  So I think the smile meant something.

then again, it could also have been because it was a stranger.   Time will tell - and I agree it will be a while yet.

Rather strangely though why haven't tom or Liz asked about her?  though I think tom probably wouldn't but Liz has had a lot of interaction with Red and not one word since way back at the start of the season.

And come to think of it, who is Red's new "cleaner"?  Though he hasn't actually killed anyone lately requiring clean up I don't think!  LOL
