Yeti - I agree that bigger things are coming in Part II, and this group will likely be the big bad the rest of the season. I think Sima was probably tied into this group too.

Do you remember last year when I noticed they had used the name Anna/Ana and variations nine times in Season 5 episodes? I wonder if it was all leading to this Anna McMahon, as one of this season's big bads. Last year I thought it was going to turn out to be Katarina's real or assumed name.

Hi, theYeti, I agree with you.
I believe I have read that Moreau had two targets. So Ziegler was one, and I think that blue hazy cylinder is intended to take out the second. And probably more. I couldn't decide if it contained a gas or if it was supposed to be a radioactive glow, but if the latter, I suspect it would have been better protected, otherwise Moreau is history from the radiation. I was thinking his other target might be Diaz, as catalyst for some larger global disruption by whatever group these people are from. I suppose they could be the Cabal. After all, with Red out of the picture, they might feel more free to act on some of their initiatives. "2017" obviously got postponed when Red took out the Director and got himself "a place at the table" with them.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Kirk comes back into play regarding Diaz. I've never thought we were done with him, in spite of what TPTB have said.
As far as Diaz, I don't feel that he is 100% loyal to anyone but himself.
The bugs make a great stealth weapon, and they are horrifying enough that just knowing they are out there and can be used against pretty much anyone should scare the bejeezus out of potential targets.

Tuxie400, wasn't there a blonde haired woman at the conference table waaaaaay back when we saw the Cabal meeting, was that in season 1 or 2?? I don't have time to research it, but could it have been someone that looks like her? Or be her? (maybe different actress by now, but same character?) Seems like I remember her saying a few words?

HW, I had looked her up, it is a different woman. On my re-watch, I cannot get over how this Anna talks so fast like KR. Diaz said she is with the DOJ. (another red head)
Is Christopher Miles the second target, or was there just a pic of him beside hers because he is an assistant? He has the dossier and says he is going to keep it. I think there must be a bigger target. I have been trying to get a good shot of the beginning where he has the folder open with the pic of Zeigler and the other man that I think is the guy with Zeigler.
Anna said he was the Only one who could stop them. I think that is telling. I do have to wonder what connection Red might have with Monroe?
I must say, miss Cynthia really got on my nerves!

By the way, did you sense an odd bit of what I felt looked liked a remorse of some sort from the Warden? To me he seamed like he felt bad about doing this to Reddington.

I think, like a lot of people who actually deal with Reddington, they get a sense that he is not an evil guy, but he's a good man who does bad things. After all, he's helped the warden a few times.

Yes, I remember that Cabal woman - one of many Katarina look-alikes in the series. That woman wasn't played by Jennifer, but she did look similar.

This was a different warden. Red wasn't there at the Terre Haute prison long enough to help this guy. The other warden was at the Colton prison.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. I'll have to watch again.

So, I was watching the end again, and I am wondering if they get the first injection in where they cause him to be unconscious, and then get a phone call. Or, they pronounce him dead and wheel him out and then bring him back the way they did Liz. I keep wondering how they would play this out if he actually got another agreement? I would think they have to break him out somehow in the future for him to still be moving about the criminal world.

Iowa Watcher - I think we're getting back to spies and international intrigue.
No more court scenes with Mr. Sima and his mute assistant???
I suspect if Red survives (and he will) that one of his first visits will be to Mr. Sima's sand castle!
BBB, we are on the same wave link here. I think they need to pay this a visit. It would be an great! I would love to see Sima's face if he turned around and Red was right there.

Knowing Red he'd lecture Mr. Sima for a minute or so in Redspeak - then recruit him for an R2 mission he couldn't turn down!!!

If I were writing the scene I'd have the warden & the injection specialist team up to switch up the toxins and inject Red with neutral fluids - then call off the process (for awhile anyways) when the death syrup doesn't do its job.
Both the warden and the facility doctor seemed sympathetic to Red. They could have made it a bit more obvious for both - but the warden't expressions showed mild empathy - the doctor was quite taken by Red immo. (taken by his humanity if you can believe that)

I would be counting on a lecture!!! Either way, it would be fantastic!

Ok, new idea:
If he gets a pardon or some other governmental stay, won't his standing in the criminal world be jaded? There wouldn't be a criminal around who'd want his business. As Red said in the courtroom, he's a dead man in both worlds - crime world and civilian life.
So if he is pardoned, wouldn't he need to work for the task force, not as a CI because no one on the outside would trust him, but maybe as a government corruption buster?
The show from the very beginning portrayed a man who has a life of crime, and yet, the biggest criminals were American cabalists who had infiltrated the government - Alan Fitch, Diane Fowler, Tom Connolly, to name but a few.

I would love this idea - Red could be special assistant to Harold with access to all government criminal files. No field work whatsoever - but due to Red's renegade nature I can imagine the premise would be the special assistant who can't resist getting back to the field. . . .

Big Bad Bazzer - yes! TBL producers are never afraid to try something, a new setting, a different role, character growth/change.
At some point, can Red integrate? Can he be on both sides? He says to Ressler on the stand, "You are what I both despise and deeply admire about the FBI" (Paraphrasing).
He loves their work. But he despises the rigid black/white thinking.
Just because you're president, makes you no angel; just because you're the world's premier criminal, makes you no devil.
I could really see them going this way. I would really hope so. They'd still need to make it plausibly believable.

A public pardon or stay of execution would destroy Red's cred in the criminal world. So if he is pardoned, I think they would have to stage an extraction, so he could keep up appearances. For those of you who've seen Megan's Two Truths and Lie segments, one of the options is the task force comes under new management. I'm more likely to think the task force will be the renegades working for Red rather than the governemment, since the govt. has become corrupt.

Ah, I did not see the 2 truths and a lie.
I'm more inclined to think that if the TF extracts him, their wings would be clipped and they would not have access to top secret resources... or for that matter, any resources at all.
How do you think that would happen?
I think no matter what, they'd have to buy time. Somehow. The doctor switches out the lethal injection. Or the protesters stage some kind of action which puts Red in peril and they have to move him. Something.
Once his death is delayed, then I could see them getting Miss Holt back in the picture as a prosecutor investigating the president and Anna McMahon, somehow getting them removed from authority, and keeping a stay on Red. But yeah, somehow Red would need to get out of prison.
