So the assassination Red and the task force will try to stop does involve Bastien Moreau! It's international, so I wonder if he will try to kill several high ranking leaders from different countries.

It should be an episode filled with action, there are a lot of stunt people listed.

Action sounds good!

Possible spoilers below, based on this episode's guest stars:
I saw someone on this site predict that Bastien would try to kill the president. That seems to be the case now as actor Benito Martinez (who plays president Diaz) is guest-starring in this episode. Either that or Red will get a presidential pardon, which seems unlikely to me. Anyway, it's nice that he's finally back after exactly two full seasons.
Jennifer Ferrin also makes her return. She played the woman who hired Bastien in episode two of this season. It's funny that she appeared in Homeland as a Russian agent, co-starring Mark Ivanir (Ivan from Blacklist season 1).
According to IMDb, this is the first episode with Michael Xavier as MI6 agent Christopher Miles. He is also listed for the following episode, so maybe this will be a two-parter (which would be weird since the Corsican already had an episode). Since we know Red has connections in MI6, it makes me wonder whether Miles is also working for him.
We know that Red has been looking for the person who bought Nikkila's bugs and in the next episode the task force will look for a cryptobanker funding an attack, so I'm guessing both trails will lead to Moreau. It would be nice if they also finally give closure to the bug story.

Wow, Yeti, good detective work.
Maybe Red's next to last hope is a presidential pardon, since he has been cleared of treason but Moreau is set to assassinate him. Does Diaz still owe Red? If they stop Moreau then Diaz would really owe Red and that might be enough to get him that pardon. But would a totally pardoned Red take the wind out of the show's sails? I wonder if they would go that far. Probably not.

This essentially seals the beetle war if the big attack is against the 'president'. We knew that was an open ended storyline. I love it when they work a storyline in like that. I think the first time they really did that was when the brought back General Ludd. It was si exciting to see them thread that story into the main. I loved it!

So, I realize this is the synopsis for the following episode, but as it's a two-parter I think it's appropriate here. Posted by Aly:
“THE BLACKLIST”“BASTIEN MOREAU: CONCLUSION”ORIGINAL 03/22/2019 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Friday) : Cooper (Harry Lennix) puts his reputation on the line to appeal to the White House on Red’s (James Spader) behalf, as Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force resume their search for The Corsican (guest star Christopher Lambert), a Blacklister with ties to an international conspiracy. Meanwhile, Samar’s (Mozhan Marnò) abilities in the field are tested. Jennifer Ferrin and Benito Martinez also guest star.
I'm really excited to have a real two-parter again finally and it's also interesting that they make three episodes centering around the same blacklister.

Thanks Yeti! I had suspected Bastien Moreau would have a second part.

The new photos on screen spy don’t look good for Red! Can’t post the link from my phone but Aly did on Twitter.
Maybe they’re going to fake his death this time. It would make sense if they did. He’d become useless if he was pardoned and freed; he can’t stay in prison forever; it would be payback and a real test for Liz for what she put him through.

Honey West - Aly posted the photos on tumblr too. It's either really going to come down to the wire with the lethal injection, or they're going to fake his death. I was thinking today how similar that would be to what happened with Arvin Sloane in Alias the last season John Eisendrath worked on that show. And I'm betting Part 1 ends on a cliffhanger.

This would be a good time for a double. I find it odd that Dembe is sitting there. I would be sure he would have a plan to bust him out, so there must be a plan....
I would be surprised if they didn't leave us on a cliffhanger Tuxie.

Eastcoast - I guess Red's last play doesn't involve Dembe. There better be some really good scenes with Red and Liz, and Dembe and Red, to make up for torturing the audience so much.
Apparently death by lethal injection involves three steps. Sodium thiopental is used to induce unconsciousness, pancuronium bromide (Pavulon) to cause muscle paralysis and respiratory arrest, and potassium chloride to stop the heart. I can see the episode ending after the first chemical is given and we see Red unconscious. The next episode could pick up with someone arriving with a stay of execution before the other two injections are given.

There is a new sneak peek online.
Red asked for cabbage soup and dressed herring for his last meal. Said his mom loved cabbage soup.

Red's last wishes sure are interesting. Both dressed herring and cabbage soup are traditional Russian dishes. I would say Red has some Russian heritage. What about putting his ashes in opium pipes and wishing for an eternal high?

I was rolling Tuxie! Lol
And yes, it was a wee bit strange...

I guess in an episode this heavy, there have to be a couple of light/weird moments.

Oh, I’ll have to watch that when I get home!
I still think there’s a remote possibility that Red is Katarina’s brother or spent part of his life living with her family.

I was wondering if any of you know which episode they were filming around the end of dec.?
