Red had to have still been alive in March 1990 in order for Katarina to fake his finger prints for the $6 million Cypriot bank transactions.

I was just rewatching the Marko Jankowics episode and noticed Ressler used a piece of broken car window glass to get the fingerprint of the Jankowics guard Liz killed.  So getting fingerprints for a dead guy is not that hard. We've seen Red cut thumbs off to do it. Katarina had been assigned to Red for five years at that point. I'm sure she got his fingerprints by using a glass early in their relationship.

Re: Episode 6.09 - "Minister D"

Aargh! No show tonight and 10 should be a good one, written by JB, et al. I probably won’t get to watch until the following Tuesday, unless I happen to be back at the hotel at air time. Good news is I will be in NYC that Thurs-Mon. Yes, West is headed East!

Thanks, Tuxie400! I know one thing, it's going to be a huge temperature change! I might need to pack ALL of my clothes and wear all of them all of the time.

Honey West - Winter in New York is quite a bit colder than where you live. Dress in layers!

Re: Episode 6.09 - "Minister D"

I'm going to freeze!!!!

I was just in an outdoor pool this morning. I guess back there you call them ice rinks.
We have two seasons here: sandals weather and shoes weather. (better leave my sandals at home, I guess)

Ice rinks, hahahaha, people walk on water around here... frozen water. Ice fishing with those little huts; ice skating on the river; snow mobiling... we just got another inch of snow over night. There's a foot or more of snow on my deck that's been there for 2 months now.
We call that character building. Hahaha!

HW, I saw the weather on the news earlier and you picked a very cold week to visit NY.

Tatiana, Character building.  Love that.  One of my best friends lives in Green Bay.  She said her eye lashes were frozen when she was pumping gas last month!

Re: Episode 6.09 - "Minister D"

I've been thinking about some elements of this story again.  Tempkin is similar to Potemkin, the Russian ship where a mutiny occurred that is considered the first step in the Russian revolution. The date on the tape was Dec. 7,  also known as Pearl Harbor Day, or the date Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941, which led to the U.S. entering World War II.  So both of these things started wars.  I would think the sinking of an Ohio class submarine that killed 134 Americans might have started a war too. So what I'm wondering is whether Fitch and Katarina were trying to start a war or stop one.

I believe the submarine sinking is based on submarines from both the U.S. and the Soviet Union that went missing in 1968: The Scorpion from the U.S. and K-129 from the Soviet Union. Both carried nuclear weapons. The sinking of the Scorpion was believed tied to John Walker, a Navy officer who spied for the KGB. The U.S. secret projects Azorian and Jennifer paid for the recovery of much of the sunk Soviet sub, which was close to Hawaii. Both nations agreed to keep details of what happened to these subs secret. Very few details were ever released publicly. The CIA released some information through Freedom of Information requests, but the NSA said its documents were protected from the FOI Act by executive orders.

Re: Episode 6.09 - "Minister D"

I was thinking about some of this myself.  I thought how odd that it is Pearl Harbor day.  I also wondered what happened after these guys died?  No war?  I did wonder if it was all made up or not?

I was reading about those subs.  I feel like I get a history lesson from the show sometimes.  I find myself looking up stuff afterwards.  Look at all the stuff we learned about Case Study Houses!

Eastcoast - I've never learned so much from watching a TV show before. I've learned about history, literature, art, and many other subjects.
