Tuxie, I thought maybe he was testing Dembe by joking around to see what he would say. We know from Red he already has plenty of money.
I was thinking he probably had that woman with the pugs and messed up by getting into the tussle with her. That whole thing was very weird. And yes, he knows a felon cannot serve on a jury.
I thought it would be a nice twist if someone on the jury knows enough about him that if they vote for him that he would do a favor for them.
I am sure Red will be seeing the prosecutor again when he gets out. I hope they show his face. He should know not to be so sure of himself. When he said Red was a dead man walking, I was thinking that he was the real dead man walking.

Eastcoaat - I've seen a lot of people saying they can't wait to see what Red does to the prosecutor when he gets out. I wouldn't expect him to do anything. The prosecutor is just doing his job, so he doesn't deserve payback in Red's moral system.

I think Red is actually very impressed by Ken Leung, the prosecutor. If the series was going beyond this year - I would think the logical play would be for Leung to be recruited onto Team Red. Leung is an incredible actor - his work on Person of Interest was very memorable.
Of course, if the thing is fizzling after this season then why bother? Nice multi-episode arc for Leung, nice guest appearance for Glen Glennington - not much else!

I hope Friday's double episode is intense! I'm not sure I can sit through two hours of filler.

Iowa Watcher - I know what you mean. We need to see more plot movement next week.

Agreed!
Just so you know, NBC creates the 'previews' for the next episode of The Blacklist. I heard Jon Bokenkamp in an interview next month kind of groan about those because the network has no knowledge of what the show is even about and they create some kind of hodgepodge of scenes that have nothing to do with the story.
So yes, I do hope we get some bits we can really chew on!

Tatiana, an interview for next month? How did you get to hear that?
I agree, I hope there is something. So apparently, Liz get a truth of some sort. It will probably be about why Dembe had to get the address.

ah... I'm starting to let my dyslexia show - a podcast from last month.

Oh. Sorry! I thought you found something ahead of time.

Isn't that the guy from Perfect Strangers?! Not Balki, but his American cousin!
I could deal with the bugs, and the annoying hissing, but had to look away when the guy was being operated on and they opened his throat. My stomached turned over!!!
Anytime with Jellybean is a good time. The banter between Red and Glen on the phone had me cracking up!!!! Glen: "Hater's gonna hate. That's what they do!" Red: "I don't even know what that means. I might as well go ask the judge to let me go lie down in traffic"
Aram's loyalty to Red is almost as strong as Dembe's and it makes me love him even more!
Can't be for certain, but I'm wondering if they were foreshadowing a Liz and Dembe square off. She is good at holding someone captive in a boat. She's always known Dembe knows the truth and hasn't been that, dare I say it, forceful with him about what he knows. As Red is set to start trial, she and Jennifer's sleuthing time is winding down either by Red getting out or Red meeting his maker on death row. I hope I'm wrong because Dembe loves Liz too, and I think loves her enough to know he can't release the secrets.

Patter - You are right about anytime with Glen being a good time! Yes, the blacklister was the guy from Perfect Strangers. It was hard to recognize him because he's so much older. It makes me wonder what Balki looks like these days. That's an interesting thought about Liz and Dembe squaring off. Hopefully she won't find a rusted out boat where she can chain him up!

Hey guys, it's been a while since I watched this episode (well, a few days but with this show that feels like too much time without an episode), and I feel like I'm missing something. Either that or there are too many loose ends regarding dr. Nikkila.
To me it seemed like dr. Nikkila was acting all by himself to take revenge for the insects. Still, Red says someone used his service to kill somebody. This seemed quite odd to me, since most blacklisters are either working for their own agenda or for others, but usually not both (except Natalie Luca but she was forced to work for Isabella Stone). Therefore, it seems a little far-fetched that other people know about Nikkila let alone use his services.
Another thing I found weird is that Nikkila said he wanted to enable the bugs to defend themselves. However, for as far as it seemed to me, the bugs were never released. And if they are, via the first victims, the showrunners should really wrap that up in the coming episodes.
So again, I'm probably missing something but if not, the showrunners either failed to come up with a plausible script or they have something planned for the future regarding this case, but the latter one seems odd to me. If anyone could help explain this to me, that would be really appreciated.

Yeti - I agree the General Shiro script had a few plot holes, as did tThe Ethicist, which preceded it. They want us to think this Dr. Nik was both taking revenge for the insects and also peddling his wares to pay for his research. Notice how many bugs were in his lab, and they weren't all beetles. He confesses to Samar how many people he personally poisoned with beetle larva, but we don't know how many others were using his method of assassination. Thus, the name Dembe gets for Red: Michael Falkirk in London.

I admit I had a tough time following the details of his story. Like with most Blacklister's the Task Force interviewed him, gathered some information, and Blacklister had some kind of "I worked for such and such company developing such and such and this person wanted to steal my ideas for their own benefits or pushed me out for some other type of reason..." So when it came almost full circle and he was actually the blacklister I just thought oh okay, just like the majority. But I didn't pickup on what Yeti did with someone else using the services even with Dembe going back into retrieve the name/address and the Dr telling Samar there were 5 or 6 victims. Can't remember which.

Patter - It really wasn't very clear. I wonder if there wasn't a scene or part of a scene that was cut for time.

Patter, yes! Glen was much needed and always adds some humor.
Yeti, I totally understand. I kept waiting to hear he had been hired for other murders and was behind some other things. I was thinking in the future they might mention it, but he actually corrected them about the number of murders when he said 6 to include himself. I guess we will see.

I think this happened. I thought my re-watch might clear up some details, but it didn't.
