Oh wow! hmmm... what's in Missouri?

Wow, I just saw that clip of Jennifer and Liz talking on the phone and let's just say, Liz is getting quite devious, as if she wasn't already!

Liz will co-opt the task force for her own investigation! Sweet!
But I wonder how mad the task force members will be when they find out:
a. She was the one who turned Red in.
b. She's lying about the origin of the case.
Sure they forgave her after her fake death. But will they forgive her for this kind of manipulation?

She has to be sneaky to get around him. He won't answer her questions.
I'm wondering if she gives them a name and then one of them talk to Red or Dembe, and that's how he figures out who she's trying to reach.

Isn't that the truth!
In that first sneak peak with the psychiatrist, Red is wearing a weird white shirt with snaps. Do you think it's a straight jacket? I would enjoy seeing Red in a straight jacket. That would be a hoot. You can't see in the promo if his arms are wrapped.

Tuxie, he waved his hand for a moment, so I don't think it is a straight jacket. Maybe patients just have to wear white? Either way, this should be a hoot!
I watched the Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix last night.
I recommend it. I thought I had seen everything on him, but they did have some stuff I had not seen before.

Eastcoast - I didn't remember him waving his arm. Still think it looks like a straight jacket. I've thought about watching the Ted Bundy thing on Netflix, but I've seen so much on him. The true crime documentary on there I watched last weekend and would recommend was Abducted in Plain Sight. It's about a young girl who was abducted twice by the same man. It's unbelievable how the kidnapper/pedophile duped the girl's parents.

Eastcoast - I rewatched The Capricorn Killer, 05:16. He was #19 on the Blacklist which I found interesting.
In that episode she talks with Dr. Fulton about her fascination with the criminal mind, how she finds it exhilarating. Liz wondered what it was about criminals that they could get their victims to comply with them - little Susie's shoes, somehow either the Sandman got Susie to put on her shoes or he put them on her himself.
What little I know about Ted Bundy is that he was able to get people to trust him, people felt safe around him. Yet in that sick mind of his, he had hideous plans for his victims.
It made me wonder about this for the storyline too. In the pilot Liz says that she's fascinated with the criminal mind.

Ok, this is something I've been mulling over for several weeks. Perpetrators know their targets and know who to target.
Did either of you see the movie, "Where the Heart Is?"
If you did, there's a horrible moment where the character portrayed by Ashley Judd comes home to find that her new boyfriend is molesting her littlest child.
Later she and (Natalie Portman) sit on the front stoop and she says to (Natalie)
"How did he know? How did he know to target us..." not verbatim, I don't remember the line and I cannot find it despite my best efforts.
But the point is, the criminal mind is attuned to target those they know they can abuse/molest/murder etc.
There's a weird side to all this.

Tatiana - I never saw the movie "Where the Heart Is." It sounds interesting. I did delayed viewing of 20/20's two hours on the daughter of the BTK killer. BTK chose his targets at random. He would see women walking or getting their mail, and he would see them possible targets and then stalk them.

I did not see that Tatiana. She is a good actress.
I did see BTK Tuxie. We never really know everyone do we? Weird to think you neighbor could be that sort of person.
I have said for years that I think a lot of these unsolved crimes are by people in positions to cover them up.

That is the danger of sociopaths and psychopaths, they appear normal on the outside and tend to have charming outer layer just like Bundy. After finding out about that I've come to subconsciously abhor people who just seem too nice, they just give me the creeps.

Yes, it must have been quite chilling for BTK's family, neighbors, co-workers and fellow church members to find out he was the heinous serial killer.

Tuxie, ( shivers ) They were shocked. No doubt. I felt sorry for his daughter.
They said Ted had nearly everyone who knew him on his side. No one could believe it. The courtroom had plenty of people who were there for him for support.
I am getting ready to look on Netflix for the Abducted in Plain Sight. I have seen a lot of the others already.
Typing and surfing Netflix..... I am not seeing it?

Eastcoast - Did you ever find Abducted in Plain Sight? I double checked the title, and that's it. When I did a search on Netflix, it came right up for me.

Yes, after I stopped trying to do about 4 things at once!
That was insane!! Everyone should see that. Every time I think I have heard it all I see something like this. I am still in almost disbelief over those events. Some of these people are really good at conning other people. It is really sad.

Yes, Abducted in Plain Sight was insane. I couldn't believe the things the child molestor did to the parents to get to their child. And how could both parents be so naive?

He was a true predator. I was amazed at the lack of what I will call worldly knowledge or being very sheltered. I do not think they had ever been exposed to such things or those kinds of thoughts. They All trusted him. Trusted him so much and had been so groomed she believed those tapes were aliens.
I had a friend who was a lot like that years ago. I use to watch out for her because I felt sorry for her.

What people don't realize is that these predators have their victims 'under their spell' so to speak. If you read about it, you see it objectively and realize how conniving it really is. The phenomena is why so many women in physically violent relationships stay.
Many people are very critical of women who stay and it's a very unfair charge.
You can never really trust anyone can you?
