"THE ETHICIST"

02/08/2019 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Friday) : When Red (James Spader) is sent to a federal medical institution following his request to the court for a psychiatric evaluation, Liz (Megan Boone) and Jennifer (guest star Fiona Dourif) use his time away to search for a Blacklister they believe may have valuable information about Red's past. Ken Leung, Becky Ann Baker and LisaGay Hamilton also guest star.

Oh boy, Red getting a psychiatric evaluation. Wonder if he'll give them a recipe for potato chip clam dip...

(I really wish Anthony Hopkins would do a cameo on The Blacklist)

Colleen, would love to see him and Jack Nicholson. Another person I think would make a great blacklister is Gene Hackman. He can be creepy too! 😱

I have several people I think would be great on there.

That would be so awesome! He’s high on the list of actors I’d like to see as a blacklisted too.

So now that we have seen the preview of this, I am wondering how Red knows what Liz is up to? I cannot wait to find out how he knows Liz has a lead from the file he gave her, and how they crossed paths in the past.
He says to Dembe, that Liz will stop at nothing to find this person who is the "Only" person who knows who Red is. He tells Dembe that he knows what he must do. The look on his face is showing me he has conflicting thoughts. Dembe just wants Red to come clean with Liz.

Eastcoast - Maybe Dembe has been watching Liz all along. Or maybe Dembe gets possession of the 911 tape somehow. The promo makes it look like Red catches up fast, but it may just be misleading us.

I think Dembe is always watching everyone. I am thinking he gets to the tape if Liz does not find a way to take it like she did that rag, but he will be torn about what to do.

It did make me wonder if Dembe knows who he is? Who knows what he told Dembe? He could have given him another name.

They said this is the Only person who knows who Red is. I find it hard to believe they were sitting in a waiting room together and sparked up a conversation. So maybe Red sent this person there to the same person to get a new face, and that is how he knows Red.

In the preview Red has a phone via the rat I suppose. It will be nice to see him again.

I went back and looked again because it does say they are the only person who knows his true identity. Maybe Dembe doesn't know? He could have told him anything.
Is anyone else getting that impression?

I wonder will we ever see rattington again, since he was used only to get the message and the tread outside. If you remember Dembe did tie a nylon string to the tread and used that to smuggle the mini champagne's to Red.

Np, Red has a cell phone in the preview, so I guess rattington is now smuggling cell phones. Lol

Maybe the promo writer doesn't know Dembe and Dom know the truth. I think the promo is more from Liz's perspective.

NP - Now that Red has Dembe visiting as his spiritual advisor, he probably won't need to use Rattington again.

Eastcoast - Yes, how does Red get that cell phone? The writers are showing that he does finagle whatever he needs in prison.

I was just listening to a pre-season 6 interview with Jon Bokenkamp and he confirmed they have no control over the previews, it's NBC who puts them together with no context for the actual storyline.
While in the past I would pore over every utterance, photo, and video, I think this year I"m going to take a step back from them. This year at least it seems like the previews are ruining the viewing experience and after hearing this, it confirmed for me that this is the case.

I'm surprised since the 6.07 previews show a guy in court who's listed as Dr. Nikkila, so I was kinda expecting him to be the psychiatrist. Anyway, I like Red's attitude here and I'm curious as to what his plan with the psychatric evaluation is. He must have a reason to be there.

The new promo looks interesting. It will be interesting to see what Red's up to. He most certainly will frustrate and perplex that psychiatrist.

There is another one out about an hour ago of Liz and Jennifer, and of Liz and Red. Red said he needs to get to Missouri to see a man who might be able to help him. Something to do with the agreement he had.
