Megan Boone is listed as a guest on LIVE! with Kelly next Tuesday morning. My TV listings only go up to Tuesday so I don't know if anyone else will be doing the talk show rounds prior to Jan 5th. Usually James Spader does at least one right before the show comes back after a hiatus. And sometimes Ryan Eggold, but I suspect he will do some right before the Redemption premiere airs.

Good to know - despite being a bit over-the-top Kelly Ripa is probably the finest morning talk TV host in modern television history. She's so glib, its incredible!
I'm sure Kelly will observe how close Megan looks to Rachel Ray - so I suspect Megan better have a comedic answer.
Ever since Kelly got blind-sided by Michael Strahan's abdication to NBC she's been on her game - it seems she really wants to soldier on without a permanent co-host, somewhat tempered by long-term chemistry as she was pretty cool with Strahan before he left. Also, if you have to hire a person you usually have to give them a long-term (3 yr) guaranteed contract. Expensive if you have to release the person well before the contract expires.
Personally, I like that kid from Philly who's a TV/media instructor - Richard Curtis - he won a contest and now he's co-hosted at least 3 or 4 times.
Anyone but Fred Savage, please!
Morning TV is well-served by Ripa's Live - and then the Feisty Sisters - on THE VIEW. Whoopi is hilarious, Joy Behar had the air sucked out of her lungs after Trump won, Jedediah Bila is trying to make a name for herself and Sunny Hostin is still smarting after losing her spot on Larry King a few years back. But the best one immo is Sara Haines - she's not out of her mind political, she's funny and she's super attractive.
Now back to regular scheduled posting!

thanks HoneyWest. I would actually have checked that out but I'm not in NY next week. The LIVE! studio is actually within walking distance for me. oh well! At least now I know to watch it on TV, I never really watch that show so would have missed it!

Its a very good show - for morning shows. Kelly did a great job with Michael Weatherly co-hosting - and has a ton of folks from network TV on. Megan might be the first one from Blacklist - can't remember if Ryan or James took a turn in year 1.

hi BBB thanks for the info. Well I guess I will see when I watch next Tuesday! I think that Spader actually was on the show quite a while ago, it may have been during Season 1. I remember being surprised to have seen him and to have stumbled upon it, not sure how I did.
I didn't see anyone else from the show scheduled on any other talk show for next week - however since its hiatus week for most talk shows, the schedules for the main ones don't appear to be up yet - Fallon, Meyers, Colbert. Today show has some things posted. Not sure if its complete but doesn't seem anyone from the show is scheduled to be on there yet.

There's a MONSTER STAR scheduled before Megan so don't get your hopes up for an extended M. Boone segment. I suspect between Kelly Ripa doing her rant shtick at the beginning and then fawning over their superstar guest Megan might gets 5 to 7 minutes (if she's lucky)

hi all, I caught Megan on Live!. She was only on for a few minutes and mainly talked about life with her new baby (who is so gorgeous!). The one interesting thing she did say, however, is that "nobody" believes them (the show) about Red announcing that he is Liz's father, so they are going to have to spend the rest of the season proving it. Interesting!
HoneyWest, I do hope that you are able to sort out your TV reception woes soon! If you miss it, the interview will probably show up online somewhere….but hopefully all will be well for Thursday!

Haven't seen it yet as I'm in a different time zone than Lara. The main monster star who was supposed to appear, Queen Latifah - DIDN'T - so theoretically that should have left more time segments for Megan. I suspect the show's producers don't regard her as a ratings draw so even with the absence of Latifah they curtailed Boone - and relied more on Ripa and guest host Mark Cuban killing massive amounts of time with typically glib banter.

hi BBB! Happy New Year!
Yes, that about sums it up -- I was in the kitchen preparing breakfast and so was listening, and I wondered what happened to Queen Latifah!. Then they announced Megan around 9:25 something like that, might have been a minute or two earlier.

Megan survived approximately 9 minutes (less a 90 sec. commercial break) in the Octagon with Kelly & Cuban. She looked stunningly gorgeous - haven't seen her quite like that - very movie star without the massive ego. Cuban trolled her on the show and she admitted the show runners are very adept at "tricking people". Stated that Red all but announced he was Lizzy's father - but now because of all the trickery and treachery on the show - almost NOBODY BELIEVES IT. So in essence I was right about Megan going in for only 7 minutes - but all in all it was a very positive appearance!
On Blacklist she's usually dour, protective and super gullible. She came across as fun and glamorous at the same time!

lara1 - That is interesting and makes it sound like Red is definitely the father. I'll have to catch Megan's segment somewhere online since I wasn't able to watch real time.

HI Tuxie400, Happy New Year!
Yes that's what it sounds like. though with this show you never know what things mean, exactly….still it does sound like that is where they are going. I'm waiting to see what the unexpected twist is in 4.09 which I'm hoping points us all somewhere!

lara1 - Yes, looking forward to the unexpected twist! Also, the fans wouldn't have refused to believe Red was Liz's father if so many producers and writers hadn't denied it over the years.

I did get to watch LIVE this morning. Had to use an old TV with some older rabbit ears (for some reason they don't work well with the newer HDTV and the newer HD rabbit ears are pathetic as well). What a totally adorable baby Caroline is! So I am not surprised that they spent a lot of time talking about kids. That's what Kelly does. So we only got just a tiny bit of Blacklist and the bit about Red announcing he is Liz's father but nobody will believe them so they'll have to spend the rest of the series saying it's true. I guess the writers have finally figured out that they have jerked us around so much that we just plain won't believe anything they say now. But it was a fun segment, and it was brand new.
Now I am off to shop for an antenna for over the air TV. Our NBC stations have been off since midnight on Saturday. That is totally ridiculous and I really need to have a reliable way to watch TBL on Thursday, because I don't see either side of the "negotiations" backing down any time soon. Then I read that our directv rates will be going up Jan 22nd. So yes, I think it's time to say buh-bye!

Tuxie400 - yes, I agree! And what of Red denying to Liz in season 1 that he is her father, and that Red does not lie to LIz? hmmm. So I'm wondering whether the "not lie to Liz' goes out the door now. Or maybe we just put it down to Red not believing, or accepting that he should be her father, esp after just promising Sam that "you will always be her father". Still, its a thin line in my view, because Red knew what Liz was asking and he still said no, and never changed that response. He has let her believe that her father is dead and that she killed him.

Some great comments about Meg's appearance today on "Live". Hope you sort out your NBC problems - that's deplorable!
The only thing I can surmise from this appearance (other than Meg's beautiful baby) is that she'll have to carry a bigger load, with more variety in her acting than ever before. Tom (Ryan Eggold) is now over on the sister show. The top female guest star of the last couple yrs (Xinia Onatop) is also on the Redemption w/ Eggold.
I don't think the show-runners can reasonably expect Spader to carry as much of the load as he did in prior seasons. They can reduce Spader and Boone's acting load by bringing in a fresh passel of guest stars - and re-utilize the standard-bearers of Dembe, Kate, Glenn, Baz, for effect. I don't think they can do much more than they do already with the Post Office Quartet (Harry, Ressler, Mossad Queen & Don Knotts spy-master) so I suspect Megan is gonna be asked to step up big-time!

BBB - Don Knotts spy-master. LOL!

Bit miffed that Megan was obviously available for much more than just the Kelly Kelly show - but nobody bit.
ie. James Corden, Fallon, Conan, Kimmel, Seth Myers, Colbert, etc. all are grasping for guests to fill their air - yet one of the primary stars on one of TV's top dramas isn't asked? Alarming?
Why? I suspect most show producers and talent hunters don't regard Megan as a major star - and what they've seen from her so far doesn't exactly entice them that she gives them A. Star-Power and/or B. Quirkyness
Most huge stars parse out their media appearances sparingly these days, especially in the age of social media. The quirky ones, however are almost always welcome - examples: Alexandra Wentworth, Kathy Griffin, etc. These types usually end up going "Off the Wall" within a few seconds of starting their appearances. Megan, while well-spoken and extremely attractive does not possess this trait.
That said, I would have liked Spader, Eggold, Famke or even Mossad Marno to do some TBL promotion.
Spader is always good in talk segments, Eggold gives them a 30 something guy who has looks that rival or exceed Ryan Reynolds or the other Ryan guy, Famke was an international sensation when she did the Bond movie and Mossad might be quirky enough to do a nice segment. Don't see too many Arabic actresses on talk shows so something may be afoot. (ie. Marno, Archie Panjabi, Sarah Shahi, the new lady from Pure Genius Rashad Shetty I believe)

Hi BBB, I thought that overall there was very little promotion done for the premiere. Even the promo - I think there was just the one version produced since November. Especially considering we are now hearing that there is going to be some kind of unexpected twist that may change the direction of the show. I'm not sure why, maybe its felt that they over-promoted the Sept premiere. Or want to truly surprise us by not saying much! LOL
Although, there have been some interviews and promo photos of some of the cast circulating. On the talk show circuit, I think the obvious candidates (NBC - Fallon and Meyers) have been on hiatus the last three weeks.
