Ok, everyone! We have another exciting night of Red and Liz and it looks like some former soap opera actors as guests!
See you in a few hours. Get ready for the ride!

Red is really counter-intuitive - he got his worst threat OUT OF PRISON - while staying in . . .
BRILLIANT . . . .

I was thinking the same thing BBB. I am going to guess that Red will get him out of there.

Tuxie, I know!! Only Red could befriend a rat behind bars. lol

Red should be getting all the comforts of home with his "rat line" in place. Vontae seems like personable prison companion. And I just knew Red would have that phonograph and records by the end of the episode.

Re: rats . . . Red didn't mind at all. Of course, they were rats used to people, probably handled a lot by the animal trainer. I not a rat lover at all, but I cleaned their cages in a past life.
Mixed feelings about this episode as a whole. It might be that I'm tired from shoveling (have 4" of snow so far), but like last week, the scene changes seemed uneven in spots, like some things had been cut.
I'm also not sure why Red had to use the rats to contact Dembe. It makes things more interesting, but since he's representing himself, it seems like he could summon people to the prison to help him build his case or similar excuse. Of course, from a writing viewpoint, that's not nearly as cool.
I did like the stories, and I'm annoyed that we have to wait until Feb. 1 for another episode. It seems like we have already waiting long enough for this show to get going!

Liz and Jen don't seem to be making much headway. At least they have a date - October 1991 - for when they think Red had his surgery with Dr. Koehler.

I think Jen has a date with a bus soon. (as in getting tossed under it . . .)

Iowa Watcher - Talking to Dembe through the usual channels would have been good, but visits and phone calls are monitored. This way Dembe can smuggle in all kinds of things to Red.

One more thing before I go to bed: the prison scenes weren't nearly as painful as I thought they would be. Yes, the business with the rat helped, but they didn't spend a lot of time on prison life. That's a plus. I'm not a fan of prison movies. I think I've mentioned that I like spy movies and the spy plot lines in TBL a lot better. I miss Tom for that reason. I don't miss the dysfunctional relationship he had with Liz, but I miss the cool spy stuff that was going on.

True! And that was a way to get in those two little bottles. I'll probably think differently in the morning. I'm headed for bed now. It's finally stopped snowing !!!
