Did anyone else watch this clip? Liz tells Dembe Red said she reminds him of Katarina, and Dembe replied, "You remind me of her too," implying he knows Katarina. Bombshell! Either Red is Katarina or Katarina IS alive somewhere!

Good clip, Tuxie400! I saw it mentioned but hadn't watched it yet.
I was looking at our timeline for the date that Velov said he tracked Katarina to Prague, but couldn't find it. Do you know what it was? I know I can look it up, but I'm being lazy today. LOL!

Hmm, just re-read The Caretaker script. No date given for when he tracked her to Prague.

I don't think there was a date given for when Velov tracked Katarina to Prague. But Red found Dembe circa 1993.

I always thought Velov found the photo in the hotel in Prague sometime between when Red perished/the night of the fire, and when Katarina is said to have disappeared at Cape May.

I always assumed it was shortly after Katarina allegedly perished at Cape May.

Ok, I was thinking about this again and wondering why I assumed that Velov found the photo during that interim, between the fire and Katarina's disappearance.
My thought is that Katarina was a Russian/Soviet spy, correct? And Velov worked for the Soviets, correct? Why would Velov need to track Katarina if they were working on the same team?
So my thought is this was when Katarina was on the run after the fire, most likely when Kate was still taking care of Masha.
Then after Katarina realized she could not stay ahead of her enemies, ie. both governments as she tells Kate over the phone are after her. Kate cannot keep Masha she says. Katarina must have assumed based on her skills that should could have kept Kate and Masha together while she evaded capture. But once she realized that no matter what she did, her enemies would stop at nothing to find her and they would stop at nothing to get any information they could out of those closest to her.
That is why Katarina told Kate to take Masha to Sam and that Kate must leave because anyone associated with the family would be at risk.
So, no there does not seem to be a date. But this would logically be when it happened. In that short 2 month time period.

Velov and the Spetsnaz were after Katarina becaused they learned of her affair with Reddington (the enemy) and she had gone dark when she left to find Liz. My take was the Russians didn't believe the drowning story and kept looking for her.
Here's the dialog:
Liz: Velov was the agent assigned to find her. He was getting close, she knew it. That’s why she allegedly walked into the ocean. She wanted the world to believe she drowned.
Red: But Velov knows differently.
Liz: He tracked her to a hotel in Prague. She had just left. But in such a hurry, she missed this… A photo of her little girl. Me.

Speaking of The Caretaker, have you ever thought how precisely it foreshadowed Season 5 and now: A woman finds out her dad is not her real dad, then finds and conspires with her bio sibling to get revenge, stages her own kidnapping to force the surrogate dad to release secrets that are found inside dead bodies.
I thought that was pretty neat!

Good point, as always! Tuxie. I have to say, I haven't given much thought to the Blacklist since this summer. I lost my interest, but it sounds like we're going to have an intense 6th season and I love that. Lots of new data to pore over!

I see the Velov thing could have happened at a couple of different times. I always had the idea it was after Katarina's supposed drowning, though.
