Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Great Episode!

I found some great stuff in it.  I do not know if anyone else saw it or not, but that book that Jennifer pulled out that had Dover on it had the date 10/01.   At the top it looked like Bamonts Lead?
Under it was a list with a hospital, a dr and nurses name.

I have personally never seen houses like the ones show in the fire scene with Kaplan when I had been to Rehoboth.  We use to vacation there a lot.

At one time we all wondered if Kirk was there at the fire, maybe?  Or maybe he found  Katarina there with him one time and that is when he put the gun in his mouth.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Liz said they went to a Motel in Dover Delaware.

The fire was in Rehoboth Delaware.

Nice sleuthing, Eastcoast ;-)

Eastcoast - You're right!  Rehoboth Beach is closer to Cape May than it is to Dover.  I just looked at a Delaware map.

Tatiana - Maybe the TV report in Requiem was a coincidence of another fire in Dover that night.

That's what I'm thinking, and being extraordinary spies and undercover agents, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a fire 'downtown' to distract from a fire with some very important people involved. It would be very criminal underground or secret service to hire a professional arsonist to create a distraction.

Of course, I don't think that's it, but you never know.

The geography is really interesting. The first thing that caught my mind was that Cape May was right across the cape from the beach house/fire house.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

There must be more to this because Rehoboth is not near Dover. Dover is in the middle of the state.  She would have to have a car and drove a bit.
I had been on the Cape May ferry many times growing up.  We looked forward to it when we were kids.

I just asked someone else and they do not remember any rowhouses in Dover either.  Not until you get to Wilmington.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

And another thing, this was funny to me and probably anyone else who has been through that area.  There is only 1 hospital around there.  So when Liz asked for the list of all the hospitals in 20 miles I did bust a bit of a giggle. lol

And for the record, the Ferry Ride is around 1.5 hours from Lewes to Cape May give or take a few.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Eastcoast - Obviously the writers and showrunners don't know Rehoboth, or the state of Delaware, as well as you do. How fun that you have spent time there. I'm surprised the ferry ride to Cape May takes that long.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Tuxie, I remember it being a choppy ride at times.
I realize they don't look at all that stuff too much. Not like Liz got all the way back over to DC that fast. lol

It was nice to see a date on that paper. We now know that in Oct. they were looking for her.  It did seam as if she was taken in the beginning of fall.  It is odd to me she has that.  I guess she would have gotten it from Sam?

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Great episode. The Blacklist got its groove back tonight. The right balance of all of the parts.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

I loved, but cannot remember the exact wording of, Aram's description of himself when he called  Liz... can anyone here assist? ;-)

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Aram told Liz, "I'm not saying I'm amazing, but sometimes I'm distinctly above average."

He's so much more than distinctly above average.  I hope he gets more lines in tonight's episode!

I agree there was a good balance of humor and intrigue, as well as a good balance of character's time!

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Ok, a little different programming for tonight. They will start with yesterday's episode and then air 6.02, called "The Corsican" immediately thereafter. I will start a thread for that episode.
It looks like the first one starts at 8pm ET and episode 2 is 9pm ET.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

I was thinking about the beach house being a Rental.
For a rental, it sure was packed with a lot of stuff during the fire.  The closet had uniforms and all kinds of stuff in it.
I thought maybe it's a manipulated memory, but I don't think so.  I wonder if he owned it,  but Jennifer just thinks it's a rental.  Could have been a meeting place for him.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Did anyone think it was strange that Red and Ressler were talking about the skeleton in 6.01? What I want to know is how any members of the task force know a skeleton was in the duffel bag. And why is Red talking about the skleleton to Liz when he shouldn't have any idea that Liz got a look at the contents of the bag in the Season 5 finale? That's driving me crazy.

Yes Tuxie!!! I'm glad you brought it up. I meant to say something last night.
No one knew what was in the bag and now they all know? Then what makes him think they didn't see the DNA report?  Ross was talking about it.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

As I was reading through the script for this episode, I started thinking about Red's three-toed sloth comments. We know Red cares about endangered animals, but why did the writers use the pygmy three-toed sloth?  Perhaps because the sloth is known for slowness, and this show is so slow about revealing mythology. Or that it lives in red mangrove trees? Maybe because it seems somewhat like Red: They avoid predation largely by avoiding detection. They often survive attacks because of their tough hides, strong grips and remarkable healing abilities. This animal also has a symbiotic relationship: The green algae in its fur is thought to be symbiotic, providing camouflage to the sloth at no detriment to the sloth's health.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

This is perfect Tuxie!!!
(my mind is very mushy today as I"ve missed some medication but...)
I had thought a great deal about Red's comments on the bench in which he says their relationship is symbiotic and I wondered if that included the parasitic relationship. This really brings it to light.

When does Red talk about the sloth?
