New Theories About Who Red Really Is

Although I lean most toward the Redarina theory, the one I've been considering more in the past week is that Red is not biologically related to Liz.  We've seen examples of someone taking on the father role without being biologically related to a girl several times in the series:  most notably Sam, the Caretaker, and Ian Garvey,  Even Cooper's concern for Liz is portrayed as fatherly in Seasons 3 and 5. The parallel between Garvey and Jennifer and Red and Liz is particularly strong.  We were never given a reason why Garvey and Jennifer became so close. But Sutton Ross described Jennifer as the person most important to Garvey in the world.

Maybe Garvey also had some responsibility for her father being killed in some indirect fashion? Or he thought he did. More Harbormaster’s daughter syndrome? I keep thinking maybe Garvey had something to do with fire night. Maybe he was there, too.

“I am exactly who I am. And I can assure you, I’m a far more interesting Raymond Reddington than Raymond Reddington ever was."

Maybe. I tend to think Garvey didn't meet Jennifer and Naomi until they were put in witness protection.

I heard Jennifer say Surrogate Father so many times I thought I was going to reach in the screen and tape her mouth. lol  After that show I wondered if that could be what Red felt he was to her.   I keep thinking about what JE said about him having 'clearly sick and potentially twisted Paternal feelings towards her'.  That was a strong  statement in my opinion.

Honeywest, in this show who knows?  It is odd how Garvey said, 'you don't know who I am do you?'   I thought he had met them after everything happened, but after that I did wonder if he had any connection at all to the stuff that happened.  I also thought maybe at the time he knew Red had been set up and felt bad for why Jennifer was separated from him.
