Redemption Stuff

Not sure where to put Redemption stuff, so here it is for now.

Tawny Cypress tweeted on Dec 2nd that she'd just received the first Redemption script.
So there ya go. They are getting started.

Re: Redemption Stuff

Redemption has officially started filming.  According to OLV they are in the planting fields at Oyster Bay.  This is a Gold Coast estate on the North of Long island outside NYC.  It has hundred of acres of rolling lawn and other landscape as well as the historic Gold Coast mansion.  Here's a link I found - there are others too.

Well, that's good! That will give them about the right amount of time to be ready for Feb.
Okay, here's my first speculation without having seen any of it yet. LOL! Does Howard know what became of little Christopher and did he have anything to do with it? In other words, will he know who Tom really is from the get go? I mean, he's the one who is supposed to be Reddington's friend and Red seemed to know all about who Tom really is.

Re: Redemption Stuff

I'm pretty excited about Terry O'Quinn playing Tom's father. I hope he gets to do more than just be on a respirator in that room. LOL

I am so glad you posted this!!  I have been wondering about this since Red told Tom who his mother was. Every time its on my mind I am not where my fingers can type and say, I am going to ask what anyone else thinks of this?

I wonder how long Red has known this bit of information, but I just kept thinking that he Knew where this woman's child was and never said anything?  How terrible especially if Howard was his friend.  He knew who Tom's mother was and didn't tell him?  Even worse he would have killed him if Liz didn't step in and SH would have never known?

As a mother, I cannot help but think What a terrible rotten thing to know and not do anything about!
Sooooo,  I also wonder if Howard had anything to do with it.  Maybe someone threatened to kill him and he made him disappear instead or maybe she had an affair and he didn't know if he was his or not?

I bare in mind that he seams to have no problem with Liz not knowing although it has nearly driven her to madness  and Mr. K. doing what she did risking her own life.  I cant imagine what Liz is going to do when she learns what Red did to her. She will blame herself. Still waiting to see what TPTB are going to do with that?

It could be if he was ever in a bad spot with her like he almost was at the airport he would have something to bargain with the same way he did for the file in lady Ambrosia.  I was thinking about that too. He knew that kid was with that weirdo and didn't do anything?

I imagine that if Howard had anything to do with it and has followed his life in any way that we will be able to see by his reaction.

ok, rant over! lol

Re: Redemption Stuff

Eastcoast - My feeling is that Red didn't know Tom's true identity until recently. My theory is that Susan and Howard were threatened by the Cabal in much the same way Red and Katarina were about their children. Howard may have known more of what was going down than Susan.

Re: Redemption Stuff

Fun thoughts, eastcoast and Tuxie400. Redemption comes with its own set of mysteries before it even gets started!  (cheerful)

For even more fun, here's another thought. We don't know who the men were on fire night. Which side they were on.  (whistling) What if Howard was one of them?

Re: Redemption Stuff

fun thoughts everyone.  RL has been super busy this holiday season so I've been dipping in to read but not much time to think, which is needed to comment!  LOL

Well due to my conspiracy theory nature at times, here's something - do we believe Red is even telling Tom the truth?  Or was it a very last ditch effort to keep Tom from killing Scottie because Red has other plans for her?  He tried several times to dissuade Tom from going after her, and in the deleted scenes on the DVD Red even threatened to pull him off the mission in part because he tried to choke Scottie.  Only when Red was sure he couldn't stop Tom killing Scottie did her drop the news about Scottie being Tom's mother.

Whatever Red's motives, I don't think them altruistic - maybe Scottie is Tom's mother (and Howard his father) but i don't think Tom would ever have known that had he not walked into Scottie's home with a gun to kill her.

Now, back to the more realistic theories - LOL - I need to think over what you all have written here!  Interesting....

Re: Redemption Stuff

Some further random thoughts on my #12 above.

Early in the series, in the pilot I believe, Red sought to kill Tom - he sent Zamani to do the job and somehow Tom survived.  He seeks to kill him later on in the series and leaves him to Liz to finish off.  Would Red have killed Tom if Tom was the long lost son of Red's friend, Howard?  Or did the Liz rule kick in there - i.e., the greater good is protection of Liz.

It is also possible that Red only much more recently figured out who Tom is.  Earlier on in the series Red told liz he didn't know much about Tom.  If Tom is indeed Howard's son, conversely did that contribute to Red changing his mind about killing Tom?  I think Tom only very recently got "Liz immunity" and especially so after the arrival of Agnes.  Or maybe the timing of all is just coincidence....

Re: Redemption Stuff

I think Red has always known all about Tom. He would never have hired him to keep an eye on Liz as a friend without very thoroughly checking his background, connections, etc. Of course then they go and fall in love and mess up Red's original plan and force him out into the open.

I think Red told Tom Scottie was his mother hoping he would be so interested in pursuing that lead that he would leave and not marry Liz. Since Tom was the father of the soon-to-be grandkid, he couldn't kill him, so he had to come up with something else to drive Tom away. But it didn't work. Buying him off earlier on in the series didn't work either. Tom is not as interested in finding out about his past as Liz is. He can walk away. So far, anyway. Who knows what they've cooked up for him to change his mind.

Re: Redemption Stuff

Just a reminder that Aly blacklist has posted a lot of behind the scenes photos of scenes being filmed for Redemption since filming started last week, along with other info.  I previously posted the link under the "links" section below - Redemption - New blog.

Re: Redemption Stuff

I posted a link in the link section.
They have posted a new promo for the pilot. It isn't very long, but it is at least something different.

Re: Redemption Stuff

Eastcoast - I second Tuxie400!

I think generally there are not as many promos etc this part of the season.  I heard there was criticism of NBC at least  and having too much promotion or giving too much away the first part of the season.  I don't know if that's the case but I wonder why it seems more quiet on the promotional front.  At least that is my impression.  And I wonder if the ratings were down a bit last week because of that.  Not necessarily because people didn't want to watch, but people didn't realize that the show was back (not us of course, LOL!).

anyway just some thoughts...looking forward to another episode tonight!

Re: Redemption Stuff

Ha, after just talking about promotional material, I just saw a sneak peak for tonight via TV guide.
sorry a bit off topic here - but I just posted in under spoilers for TBL.

Re: Redemption Stuff

Here are some Redemption-related appearances this week:
Famke Janssen will be on LIVE with Kelly on Wednesday and Ryan Eggold will be on both segments of TODAY on Thursday.

Personally, I am looking forward to Redemption. The promos have shown some nice snappy dialogue and who doesn't like Action Tom the best?
