WHAT??????? how do you do 22 weeks starting in January? this is ridiculous. totally insane. If you're going to kill it, then give it a half order early in the season and be done with it all ready.
Ditto!! I agree with you.
I don't care about it being Friday night but I'm not happy about the late start. I would rather have 10-12 episodes starting in Sept. 8 months?
Better be some pics released and some promos so some people don't forget about it.
And a good cliffhanger!

The 22 episodes without hiatus make the wait until January worth it to me. Friday night doesn’t necessarily mean it will die. As I mentioned before Blue Bloods and a couple of other shows do well on Friday night and have stayed there for years. TBL audience tends to be older like the audience of those shows so perhaps it will do well there and be able to be renewed again.

Friday night is much better than 8pm Wednesday night for me. I have elementary aged kiddos and they are still awake at this time, so I have to make sure they are occupied or hanging with dad while I'm watching.
Same, Patter. my daughter's bedtime is normally 830, but on Wednesdays when Blacklist is on I let her stay up until 9, as long as she stays in her room reading.

My semi-educated guess is that with a non-prime start (January) the show will either extend into late spring or early summer (if no breaks). Possibly a couple times when other shows are off - they'll do 2 hour specials so possibly ending at end of May or early June.
And then its a wrap because the powers to be have decided not to feature a proven show, with a proven star in their prime time lineup (ie. Sept/October start)

If they start Fri., Jan. 4, there enough Fridays to finish by the last Friday in May, even without any two-hour episodes.

Agreed. To be frank I'm relieved because if they try to drag out the story anymore I think they will completely lose the splendor of their original concept.

I hope it means the end of all the herky jerky little breaks. They really chopped up the season and the flow of the story for me this year.

Me, too! It's a lot easier to keep track of TBL story line with a once a week show.

It'll be a little easier for me to hop on, not having to worry about getting up super early for work the next day. But, truth be told, I've sacrificed sleep many times for a good Blacklist fix!
At any rate, whenever I hear of a renewal, I find myself letting out a very long breath that I was never quite aware that I was holding. I'm in the more shenanigans always, please! boat.
