NBC upfronts

Just a quick note that these are scheduled for May 14. So we should know before then about season 6.   ðŸ˜Š

Re: NBC upfronts

Lara - I"m clueless about this business. What are the upfronts? I thought that was when they decided who they were going to renew and what new shows they were going to show? So how would we know before May 14th and how much before do you think?

So far, they look good for renewal. And I just keep thinking about that thing with James Spader where he described how the uniqueness of this show allows it to go one forever, but he said, when we decide we want to end it, it will be nice to have a year or maybe two to finish it out. So in my mind, I think we'll get another season, but I"m not so sure about season 7. Too many viewers are frustrated with out getting enough facts for the mythology. But that's totally my own opinion.

Re: NBC upfronts

The upfronts are a live event when NBC promotes the next year's shows.  Press releases about the renewals are usually issued a few days before.

Like last year, the announcements came on May 11, and the upfront event was about three days later.

Yes, I thought they might be out today . . . probably not, with my luck.

Re: NBC upfronts

No announcement yet, but things are looking incredibly dicey. Negotiations between NBC and Sony have broken down leaving Timeless and The Blacklist.

Re: NBC upfronts

The show strings us along; the network strings us along...
I'm starting to see a pattern here.

Re: NBC upfronts

More bad news. NBC just picked up Brooklyn 999 from FOX. One less time slot for NBC

Re: NBC upfronts

Well, it looks like The Blacklist may just end on that cliffhanger.

Re: NBC upfronts

Tatiana, I saw that.  Shows cancelled and then change their mind and renew them?  I think they enjoy taking us down to the wire.  I just can't see someone not renewing a show with 5 years of devoted fans and a huge cliffhanger? 🎬

Yes, didn't JB said he'd finish the story with finger puppets in community theatre  (or something equally clever). See this is why The Blacklist could not possibly be cancelled before the story is truly told.

Re: NBC upfronts

I have now turned on immediate notifications from Spoiler TV's twitter feed.

Today is May 12th and we should know by Monday. Seriously dudes.
Anyone who would even THINK about cancelling Spader before he's ready can kiss my grits.

Re: NBC upfronts

Well... Boston Legal got cancelled before Spader was ready. Just sayin'. I couldn't sleep last night worrying that the show would be canceled, and we would never know the whole truth behind the Red/Liz saga. I'm mentally preparing for the worst, but hoping for a renewal, even if it's just a limited 6th season - like the 10 episodes Timeless got this season.

Re: NBC upfronts

I thought AoS was renewed for another season. Disney uses it to hawk Marvel movies.
