According to several sources, the synopsis for this episode is the following:
Lawrence Dean Devlin:
Samar lands in the crosshairs of an unconventional Blacklister, and Aram and the task force spring into action to find her before it's too late. Red journeys to Costa Rica to prevent the duffel bag of bones from being sold at an underground auction.
I'm wondering whether it will be a two-parter.
I think I saw somewhere that 5.20 and 5.21 were the two parter but it would perhaps make more sense to have 5.21 and 5.22 as the two parter???

Thank you the Yeti!
Bone Auction! I am curious to see how they get from Garvey wanting the bones, to deciding to send them to an auction.

Well that's intriguing! An underground auction of bones. Reminds me of the auction Red was a 'piece' in.
The two-parter: there isn't a two parter. The scuttlebutt was that there was a two parter because there was a 'conclusion' episode and in the past, that's usually been a two parter. TBL has explained that they had to make it Ian Garvey, Conclusion because they already had an episode titled Ian Garvey. As you will note, the two episodes are not back to back, in fact there are several episodes in between. Thus, the two-parter that was not in fact two parts.
That makes sense, Tatiana.
I saw on Aly's tumblr page some photos of the season 5 cast t-shirts with all the blacklisters as of this point on them. This Devlin guy is listed on there as #26 and #17 is on there listed as "Sutton Ross", which is a new one. Probably the finale Blacklister.

This must be the Samar centric episode they were talking about earlier. I wonder if the scorpion, iguanas and such that I saw on Aly's tumblr this morning will be in the Costa Rica part with Red.
Auctioning the bones is a surprise, and it does make one think of Red being auctioned by the King brothers.

Agreed on the reminders of the King family auction and Red from season 2. The bones being auctioned off is really interesting. And how they even end up there in the first place, presuming Garvey is out of the picture.
Lotte Verbeek just wrapped her movie in Poland. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that we get to see her, even briefly, here at the very end of season 5 as KR (either in flashback or real time. I don't care which. I just love how she portrays her).

I wonder how the bones get there? Red said he would kill Garvey once he got the bones. So Garvey either isn’t dead yet or if he is, he manages to keep the bones away from Red and maybe someone else kills him? Perhaps he has a plan for the bones just in case something happens to him?
Now, Red made that comment to Liz about not having anything precious she wants to keep to herself. That’s kind of an odd way to feel about a bag of bones. If they are not Katarina, then they are somebody else that he was fond of, I guess. A parent, a child, a sibling, a lover, a good friend, ?

Honey West - I don't think Garvey dies in Ian Garvey Conclusion. I read some online interview with Bokenkamp that said he will be around for awhile after that episode. I'm wondering about the value of the bones. Back in the fall, Red said the person who had the bones would know they are only valuable to him.

The pics on spoiler tv for this episode show the van Samar was in under water. That doesn't look good..
I know...I saw those. Poor Aram and Samar. Granted, Aram's an idiot for listening to Ressler and Liz and needs to get his head on straight. I was sad that he's just giving her the keys back. Get a backbone, Aram.

It also looked like the man had a childs hand and that he was thawing it out with a blow dryer?
Well there is that little girl connected to Red's secret somehow. Perhaps it is her?
Offline
I was wondering that. I was thinking she was alive but maybe not?
Apparently she randomly show up, then it's all about protecting her? Perhaps that's how Samar gets taken.
Offline
Well, that was a bit misleading saying the girl had a connection.
It was Liz’s assumption. And she was wrong. But they did save a little girl so that’s good.

Brittany, I meant what I read online about it. Saving a child is always good!
An unidentified young girl reappears; the team tries to find her connection to the secret that Red is hiding; when her family steps in to protect its own secrets, the investigation turns into a race to save the little girl's life.
