I'm inclined to agree.  Figure we started out the gates running, with the first episode (I recall blinking, and then I felt like it was over!), but then we lost a bit of steam along the way.  Episode 6 was the first time this season that I felt like things were getting back on track--that we were moving right along in the best way possible, and things were clicking, and they were giving us a bit of that wonderful chemistry between everyone, that we'd been missing for quite some time.  And Nick's Pizza deliveries really were quite brilliant--especially with the whole "Because I like Ms. Pac-man" line to top it all off.  :D  

Since then, I feel like the show is lining things up all nice and properly to consistently knock them right out of the ballpark--and episodes 7 and 8 were brilliant, too.  Figure we've got Liz and Red working together again, the Task Force all on the same page, Kaplan out and moving about, and Tom ready to make the leap to Redemption.  

Daniel Knauf really is a force to be reckoned with--his episodes are always outstanding.  Also, the only thing that's better than more Aram screen time, is more Aram screen time with Red.  It's been awhile since they've had a bike helmet conversation.  ^-^
 

Justbecause - I agree that both Daniels always turn out satisfying episodes.

I thought Mato was good because it was full of that tension between Red and Kate. But I agree that with The Thrushes we started to get back to business as usual. Dr. Adrian Shaw- conclusion was a good one, too. Not just for the revelation, but anytime you get Red and Dembe sitting on a park bench, or Red and anyone sitting on a park bench, you know it will be a good scene. 

Partway into my season 1 re-watch, I am really hoping they can get back to that same vibe going forward.
