Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

“ZARAK MOSADEK”

ORIGINAL

04/11/2018 (08:00PM - 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : In an attempt to apply pressure to Ian Garvey (guest star Jonny Coyne), Red (James Spader) and the Task Force head to Paris to track down a prominent heroin supplier for the Nash Syndicate. Distrustful of Red’s agenda, Liz (Megan Boone) takes her own path in going after Garvey.

"I could tell you how to win a marathon, but you're assuming it's a 26.2 mile race. It's not. It's a 6.2 mile race that begins at mile 20." Raymond Reddington

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

This tells us two things:
1) Ian Garvey is going to be around for a while, and
2) There's be a 2 parter show-down season finale and we're going to get a big reveal

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

Garvey makes me feel ILL inside!  I will be glad when he is gone. I hope Liz gets to do it so she can get some justice!

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

I’ve been expecting the Red/Liz tension for a while but it seems like they aren’t putting it in until this C-arc.  Which is okay.  Season 4 had enough pouty tension from Liz towards Red the whole time.  This tension is more understandable.

I wonder if it is setting up for Red to fake his death.  We have Sinclair and Fagen on retainer, his secret in the wind, and Liz mad at him.  To watch him “die” the way he watched her die in season 3 (except his might be more spectacular) would be hard for her no matter how angry she is.  And justified for him.  I wouldn’t get over my child or anyone I cared about making me believe they were dead easily.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

It wasnt the best idea to do that to him, but this Whole thing is on Red as he said at her wedding.
All these people have died because he keeps secrets and won't tell her the truth.
You would think after someone went to so much trouble to get away from someone because of all the death and pain and sorrow that it would open his eyes up to just be honest with her. But as he said to Dembe, he doesn't know why he can't do it.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

Brittany, at the time she did not know that he was her father.  I honestly do not think if I can blame her for just wanting a normal life. I think the wedding and the premature labor would be enough on its own let alone adding up everything she had seen and had happen to her before that.
As much as I like him, I just feel like Red brought a lot of this on himself.

Well, Red has been called selfish more than once by people who know him well.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

Eastcoast- I don't think the knowledge of the relationship mattered.  Liz not only hurt him, but a lot of other people around her.  The task force, what few friends she may have still had outside of work, any of Sam's surviving family.  At the end of the day, Liz is pretty selfish herself.  Just like Red.  And as I suspect Katarina was too.   It's a family trait.

But I'm ready for them to come back from hiatus.  These little hiatuses have been irritating, though I know it was Olympics-induced this year.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

I think its increasingly more curious how many "traits" are "shared" by Red and Liz, and maybe KR.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

Brittany, I get where your coming from.  I know someone that feels that way too.  But so many things would have Never happened had he been more honest with her or just had not showed up.
He will not tell her things that is Normal for anyone to want to know and he Knows she is going to try to find out herself because he flat out says he will Not tell her.
It was her daughter she was trying to protect not her friends feelings the way I see it.

I've also thought Red might fake his death in the finale. But I don't think he'll be doing it to get back at Liz. He'll be doing it to avoid having to explain the secret to her.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

I really don't want there to be another fake death in this show, but I also agree that's where they may be going.  Although, if its a parallel to "original" fire night, it might provide some limited answers to us.

I was thinking, I don't think Garvey knows that Red is trying to keep "the secret" from Liz.  But he does know Red's weakness now (Liz).  So I'm very curious as to how this will all play out.

And, let's not forget about Oleander.  I wonder if that will come back to play again.  They are filming in the woods this week, but what is new?  LOL.  I feel like the entire show takes place in the woods and in the Post Office.  (Well, maybe it does....LOL ).

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

The City promo was far more intriguing than the NBC promo. Liz is surveilling Garvey, and she discovers someone who is important to him.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

Garvey kisses the girl on the forehead just like how Red kissed Carla. There are so many mirrored images here.

Re: Episode 5.18 Zarak Mosadek

I also wondered if she could be his daughter.

Wouldn't it be really gross if he were married to or involved with Jennifer Reddington?  GAG!  I mean, even having Red as a dad doesn't compare. Red does some bad stuff but he's never run an innocent woman through a woodchipper.
