I have wondered if that was part of the reason Red took Liz from KR, because she was going to start training her to be a spy or something like that. (Similar to the Project Christmas thing from Alias).

I had the impression that KR wanted her to have a normal life if that was possible. But who knows? Red said he took her because she wouldn't let him see her. Maybe he felt like he knew there would be a balance in her life if he could influence it.
I don't know what exactly I think about Katarina. She is so different in every scenario we've seen with her that it's hard to tell what about her was genuine. We only ever see her through the perspective of others, never directly.

So true! Kirk's version of Katarina was so different from Kate's in Requiem, while the Cape May version showed us another side of the person. Liz's memory at the time capsule was so brief we didn't get much insight at all, but it was likely the truest.

The only thing that I think was confirmed about KR was that she loved Liz. she said it herself in Requiem, and its implied in Cape May. Red has said it, and Kaplan I think said it as well. In Mato, she wants Liz to remember her by what they bury in the coffee can.
Other than that all we know is that she is some kind of operative; stated by Red and shown in Cape May and in Requiem (both incidentally, kind of dream like remembrances). She has killed people - at least it was implied in Requiem that she had killed before and probably would again. But nothing deep, really, about her character across the board.
I tend to think the truest version of KR we got was her journal, but that was only words. But I do think she was honest in it. We didn't get her body language, tone, intonation, etc. (Liz imagining her doesn't count) so it doesn't tell us much about her personality. But I think the second truest was likely the scene with Liz when she was at the summer palace, though it was so brief we can't form assessments of it.
I really wish the show would give us glimpses of what people were up to while Liz was in a coma. If nothing else I want to see Red and Dembe doing a “Two Men and a Baby” shtick with Agnes since neither of them has likely taken care of a baby in a long time. Especially Red.

I would have loved to see that. I think the showrunners missed a real opportunity there. I would much rather have seen that last week than the Critter Cabin/IRS storyline.
I agree. Hope they do cover some of it at some point. Even if it is just a few glimpses.

That would be so great! Tuxie, #308, I am with you on that one! lol
All they would have to do is have Red reflecting when he saw something that reminded him of his time with her. (Hint - to TPTB)

I think that your right that we do need something more to tell us about KR. We have memories from some people who knew her. I think something from Dom would be nice. To see him looking back on conversations they had or Liz having a Real flashback of something she remembers.
What do you guys think the cliffhanger will be? Will it definitely be about Red/Liz or will they surprise us and make it about another team member (or a task force-wide cliffhanger)? I tend to think it'll be something related to Red's secret. Like Liz will think she has the answer (or Red will allow her to believe whatever she believes) but we the audience might get something different and that'll be the cliffhanger.

Its hard to tell. I have several ideas but who knows. I still lean towards KR being revealed as the one in the suitcase only because of the K on the tree, Kaplan saying she is sorry and Red saying she had died. I get the impression from Dom that she is dead from what he said to Red about killing his whole family. But I think what he told Liz about some people keeping it a secret could be something to lead us in the other direction.

I think a fire night reveal of some sort. Maybe we will find out who one, or more, of the people there were. Or who actually put little Liz in the closet. or took her from the fire. Or something more. Because of the fire and heart imagery this season. (Sweetheart, and the little heart/s that were singed onto the bunny) But it could be anything.....

lara1, its been so long since the Braxton fire night we saw, I think they owe us that asap!
I agree. We need fire info. At least something if not the whole thing.

I personally love it because it makes her and the relationship with Red so intriguing. I just need to know everything before the series is over. If they wanted to do a spin-off of Red and KR, the early years, I'd watch it just as faithfully.

And I find it fascinating that we only see her through the EYES (LOL) of others. Liz was even hallucinating about her writing the journal. She's a presence that people talk about and remember in their own way yet so far, she is still a ghost, not real.

I have been thinking about that lately lara about how we see her through their eyes.
Red saw her as a the red head and so did Kaplan. Liz had only known her as a blonde on the swing. I do not think Liz ever saw her until after the flashback she had of her in the yard at the Palace.
