lara1 - I like your parallels between Kaplan/Mountain Man and Red/Dom. Maybe Kaplan will put on a new cloak of secrecy.

Case Study Houses
I did some further investigation and found this fascinating link. It maps out all of the case study houses (in CAL) and has a blurb about each, with a link of further info.
In reading this I realized that the architect of the La Canada house we previously discussed, JR Davidson, was not really a "well known mid century architect" to the general population. That would be names like Eames, Stahl and maybe Neutra. Interestingly, its the Eames houses that are in the Palisades, and closest to Santa Monica (where eastcoast pointed out above that Red stashed the FBI agent. ) One is also on a cliff overlooking the ocean.
I looked at #s 5, 6 and 14, as having been designed by the more well known "famous" architects at the time, and, also, these are closest to Santa Monica. And I looked at 15, the one by JR Davidson (apparently at the time more well known to other architects than to the general public), which had the links to T. Earle.
I attach the link for anyone who would like to investigate further. My take on all of this is that either the house referred to by Kirk is one of the better known ones, in the Palisades, or, especially if Katarina was very interested in art and architecture (lots of references in the series) and therefore would have known about Davidson when others may not have, maybe it was the La Canada one done by that lesser widely known architect. However, that one is not close to Santa Monica.
Whichever it is, is a clue to where Katarina had been living at the time.
Any other ideas? I didn't look at each house, only the ones by "famous" mid century architects and the La Canada ones, as I thought one of those the most likely one. None of them have fences, but the pictures are of the original construction of the houses, so a fence could always have been added later.
I guess the next step would be to zero in on which one we think it is, and then look to see if we can find a current photo of it. (and look for a fence!)
also, anyone want to revisit the art books on the shelf in "red's" flat in Bethesda?
edited to add: the Davidson house is #8 on the map, not # 15 (the house is the #15 case study house, but #8 on the map). the other numbers - 5,6 and 14, refer to the map numbers

I also found a link to the Davidson house by searching specifically for that house. So if we feel we have narrowed it down, a search of the case study house by architect name should bring up current articles and photos just of that house, as will the street address (included in the link I posted in 222)

I just re-watched the end of 4.08. Interesting - Kaplan is actually wearing a man's brown corduroy coat, very much like Dom's, when she is walking along the roadway. Maybe those with a keener eye than I can make out if it might be the same coat, or just something very much like it. So - does this mean that there is a connection between mountain man and Dom; or Dom and Kaplan (as some of us previously surmised)
Also - I could swear that when Kaplan swings open the door of the truck to get in, that she is smiling. She knows the driver. It doesn't look like she is turning to respod to someone asking whether she wants a ride. She just turns immediately and opens the door to get in, as though she were expecting that car to come along at some point, and here it is;, or she just knows the driver. But who the driver is, is anyone's guess right now. Just my opinion of course
Edited to add: speaking of colors, Red is wearing a jacket the same sort of color when is having that confrontation with Kirk on the rooftop in 4.06. And when Kirk is standing with AGnes on the ledge, a red light is very visibly flashing underneath where he is standing, and another one shinining, blinking onto the building across the way..
and did anyone notice that Kirk seems to be wearing a shade of purple? - color of royalty.
just some further minor thoughts...

Speaking of minor thoughts - on the Canadian promo for Redemption - Ryan & Famke are named but Edi Gahegi is also featured - BUT NOT NAMED.
Personally I thought Edi would have been gobbled up by another TV show by now. Famke probably doesn't have the desire to do regular TV anymore (she's just over 50) and Ryan is the star they need to put over.

BBB - if you are a fan of Edi Gahegi, he did at least one other TV series this year, that was broadcast fairly recently. I can't recall the name because I think when I heard about it, it was being shown on a network or service that I don't get. It is a crime drama of sorts and he plays a kind of gangster type character.
I read today that TBL is being broadcast, this time at 10PM, when it returns, not 9PM. So don't know what is going to happen with Redemption here. I personally have not seen any Redemption promos at all, but then again, TBL is the only thing that I watch on NBC, so I wouldn't have seen any promos. However, I don't think any have been put out there yet. So a bit of a mystery......how fitting LOL

Yes, Lara it is a bit of a mystery. No question. But since Global TV in Canada usually runs simulcasts of NBC shows (and other ones occasionally) I suspect NBC will also be running Redemption at the same time.
Obviously, Canadian TV is seldom an afterthought in most American markets (other than border areas like New York State (catching Canadian TV out of Toronto), Conneticut (catching Montreal English TV) or even Washington State (catching certain Vancouver stations)
Most Americans would find Canadian drama relatively boring - its a bit more like British TV without the accents. Some Canadian comedy is actually quite good - if you have a chance look up youtubes of the old CTV series called Corner Gas starring Brent Butt. The other Canadian series I highly recommend is Flashpoint (available on vintage TV outlets or DVD) starring Headstones lead singer Hugh Dillon (Canadian Bob Dylan) and Enrico Colantoni (who went several years as a guest villain/hero on CBS' Person of Interest)

Triple B, my favorite was The Red Green Show.

According to NBC's website The Blacklist returns January 5th at 10/9 central time. That looks pretty official to me.
Also the only thing about when Redemption might air, the best I can find is "coming soon".

Honey, wouldn't that be something if they ran both The Black Liz and Redem Tom back to back each week for a couple months?
OVERDOSE CITY!

That would be fun. It would be two hours of Blacklist. But they'd have to be on different nights. I'm trying to think where they might place Redemption. I wish they'd move Blindspot to a better time. 8:00 is just too early for me to remember to watch it. (I know! I'm one of "those people" who don't time shift their viewing)

Honey West - I agree with you about that early Blindspot time. I often miss the first few minutes. LOL
I'm surprised we haven't seen any info about when Redemption will air. Often info about the mid-season schedule comes out in early December.

I've seen nothing at all on Redemption. Im a bit surprised they don't appear to be planning to run it after TBL, as many series do - run a spin off right after the mothership to gain audience share. But its possible they dont want to move TBL from its 10pm slot, nor run Redemption that late either. JB mentioned in one recent interview a Feb date for Redemption. To my knowledge they havent started filming yet .

Wonder why the Canadian network (Global) were handed a promo featuring characters played by Eggold and Famke Janssen? even showing Edi Gahegi!
If they haven't started filming yet - that's a big challenge to a few original eps in the can by early January . . . .
One alternative - and this is an inside trick - they could use existing/canned TBL episodes, re-caption the cast lists and opening segments, name of Blacklister, etc. and use those Blacklist episodes as Redemption eps - who would know the difference? Right?
They could advance Kate's fate on Redemption without having to use major time segments on the main show.
Really, kinda TBL 1 and TBL 2, that's all....

I started looking into the symbolism of apples given Red's curious answer to Liz when she tells him he should not have showed up in 4.08. He says something like, "The ripe apple falls. It doesn't know what else to do."
This got me thinking that apples have showed up from time to time in the series. I didn't make notes of when, but I remember that scene in the Director where they build the "mirror image" of the Direotor's wife's doctor's office....they build a double but can't find something to match the sculpture that sits outside the door of the office. So Red suggests a bowl of apples, saying everyone likes apples. there are a few tense moments when Peter stops to look at the bowl, then grabs an apple and bites into it (kind of a metaphor for him "biting" into the whole fake scenario.)
Also in one of the recent episodes, where it starts with Red telling one of his stories, Liz replies "OK I'll bite."
It turns out the Latin word for apple and evil are virtually identical. Which may explain how the apple became a symbol for evil, sin, etc. So Red has said to Liz he is a sin eater. I'm just playing with the words here, but is the apple ripe because of all of the sins that the sin eater has absorbed? Or is it ripe with sins to be absorbed? and does this relate to Red's rescue of Liz by substituting himself as Kirks captive?
I did some more reading and in the New Testament, the symbolism morphs from that of sin and evil to one of redemption. The contrast of death by sin and rebirth by salvation and redemption.
Contrasting that with Red's recent comments about Dembe, how he seeks salvation that won't come. And his asking DEmbe for forgiveness when he surrenders to Kirk.
Not sure how it all knits together yet - if it does. but these related strands mesh somehow, I think.
There's also the infamous Apple Man from season 1! And in Ivan, there's the whole little cafeteria scene with the hacker kiddo, and the girl he's been stalking--how they're both consuming the same lunch, and then up and take a bite of an apple at the same time.
For funsies, I think there have been more references to pastries--but only on account that Red seems to enjoy food stuffs a lot. ^-^

BBB - I think there were eight episodes because NBC is airing Thursday night football for a few weeks.
lara1 - The geographical implications are growin. I can't remember any other references to California in the BL. I do find it curious they made the Kirk/Katarina memory house a case study house. That has to be some kind of clue, or it is setting the stage for something to come. I also found it curious that Kate was befriended by a bail bondsman from Texas. Was she living in Texas when her head was split open? The only location we have for Red growing up is Lake Charlevoix, Michigan. So many questions, and so few ideas how this is all linked together.
It's not a reference to Red growing up, per say--and it's not a direct lift from the show--but according to the Elizabeth Keen dossier that was released, we're given an official government documentation of Reddington living at 437 Barton Hollow Road, Blacksburg, VA 24061 on March 25, 1989.

Yeah, withdrawal alright!
But there has been a good PBS series this week called Soundbreaking about music recording industry that has been totally cool. And it's been on at 10PM. I did watch the Red/Kirk scenes again as recommended by Mr. Cerone. So there was Blacklist on my TV tonight.
I just watched Cape May and Artax Network again--along with the last two episodes from this season, earlier in the week. Just because Blacklist is kind of like Halloween--a state of mind. ^-^ (Otherwise, I'm filling in the break with Space Ghost Coast to Coast.) :D

Deadskie - The Blacksburg, VA address is pretty interesting. (My inlaws used to live there.) Most watchers of the show would believe the Tacoma Park House was where Raymond Reddington lived during that time period. It seems strange that Blacksburg would be his address. It's land locked. All the Naval installations are on the other side of the state.

I think TBL moved to 10PM probably because of the somewhat violent content. Maybe too much for 9PM? But they could air Redemption at 9PM. How has Chicago: Whatever been doing as a lead-in?
I'm wondering if they are shooting yet, because Ryan Eggold usually tweets a lot more than he has been lately. I was thinking maybe because he is too busy to tweet.
