Re: The Suitcase

Tuxie400 -

"At this point, I don't embrace the idea that Naomi/Carla is Katarina. But if she were, at least she wouldn't be Red."

LOL!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Suitcase

Carla knows something, we just do not know what.  She asked Red how much she knew.  He said very little.
She also told him he needed to tell her.
Then we had that scene with Tom telling Liz in a dream that Red and Naomi didn't want her to know something?  I think that was there for a reason.

"At least she wouldn't be Red"  I almost chocked on my apple pie!!! lol

Re: The Suitcase

Eastcoast - thanks, I forgot that what Tom said included Naomi.  interesting.  Well true actually.  I just forgot that he said it.  Which does feed in  a little to the Carla as bones theory.  But still ultimately I don't think it works unless there is huge piece of puzzle we have no clue about.

Re: The Suitcase

I forgot about that too.  I need to go back and rewatch that one.

Re: The Suitcase

It is Dr. James Covington episode.

Actually, Tom speaks of the fire.  'what they don't want you to know about the night of the fire'.

Actually guys, that's Dream Tom who says that, which means it's Liz's subconscious talking.

Re: The Suitcase

Right tuxie. My thoughts on this are that maybe seeing Naomi triggered a memory in Liz and she has a dream about it.

Re: The Suitcase

I have no idea whose skeleton was in that suitcase Tom unpacked. But I do think most of the major players were motivated by love. Kate Kaplan started all this because of her love for Liz and Agnes. She wanted Liz, Agnes and Tom to have a normal life, free from the violence surrounding Raymond Reddington. Tom wanted Liz to have the truth because he loved her, and he deeply desired that normal life. Likewise, Red couldn’t let his secret be known to Liz because of his love for her, and he believed she would be harmed in some way by its truth. Nik only helped Tom because of his own lingering love for Liz, and poor Lena became involved solely because of her love for Pete. So it’s fitting that Navarro was stewed in that heart-shaped tub, a symbol just a surely as the dead body. And I think when the truth does come out about those bones, love will surely be tied up somehow in that secret.

Re: The Suitcase

That’s very well put, Tuxie.  I agree that love is such a central theme to so many character motivations on this show and ultimately the deeper mythology.

Re: The Suitcase

Brittany - Thanks. I had intended to write about ghosts and suitcase, but when I started thinking about it, I saw that love was the thread running through that suitcase story.

and the heart imagery.

Re: The Suitcase

lara1 - Yes, all the heart imagery got me thinking about the suitcase. There was one more heart I found - not sure if I mentioned it wherever I posted the heart imagery. But in 5.01 Liz sees the photo of Smokey and his girlfriend in the Carnival office, and there is a heart drawn under the two them with Tammy Lynn's initials in it. That's how she and Red got the lead to find Smokey.

Re: The Suitcase

I just re-watched Kaplan, Conclusion for the first time since seeing it last spring. Maybe those are Katarina's bones. When Kate goes to Tansi Farms, she's so sincere when she says, "I'm sorry, Katerina".
No matter how I flip it around in my mind, that's the only thing that makes sense. I was convinced that it was the real Raymond Reddington and our Red is Faux Red. Then I thought maybe it was the real Masha, but it's not, Kate knew Masha as a baby and when Agnes was born, she remarked at how much she looked like Masha as a baby.... but then she said that weird line about "when you put her in my arms as a baby". And that supports the Rederina theory.

Re: The Suitcase

Tanis Farms
Ok, since I just watched the episode where we are introduced to the suitcase I wondered about the word Tanis. I played with the letters, anagrams, sounds, etc. Then I looked it up. I found a Tanis Lake in Tennessee. But nothing.

"Ni-tanis" is actually Cree. It means "my daughter" and
"Ki-tanis" in Cree means "your daughter"
so the 'tanis' part must describe a daughter.

Maybe that's a little far-fetched, but it made me sit up and take notice!!

If that supports the Rederina theory, why wouldn't Kaplan be apologizing to Katarina (Redarina) for digging up real Raymond's bones? Sorry, but it seems obvious to me.

Drat. You're right.
See, this is why this group is here. I am not sharp enough to figure this stuff out.
Yeah, Tansi is kind of cool, isn't it?
I do have a thought but I have to post it on the other board.

Re: The Suitcase

Well. if Rederina is true then the bones can't be Katerina.  Rederina or other imposter theory means the bones are the real Red, or someone else.  Not that it can't be Katerina.   But I don't think it is.  Kate could have been apologizing to KR for unearthing "the secret".  That maybe KR never wanted it to come to light either, or wouldn't, if she were alive.  something like that.....

Tansi - someone pointed out that someone had noted that Tansi is an anagram for Saint.  I think that may have been Tuxie.  Well we do have all of the Christmas stuff in the attic.....

Re: The Suitcase

Another anagram is stain.

So, since discovering the very unusual link for the word tansi, it makes me think the bones in the suitcase belongs to the daughter.
