Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Tatiana - Red mentions the sloth to Liz when he first gives her the Dr. Koehler case, right after he does Tai Chi.
Red: Opportunity. Dr. Koehler’s been sighted, which is as rare as sighting the pygmy three-toed sloth. Only 79 of the dear creatures are left.
Then Liz throws the sloth reference back at him after she finds him with Koehler's body:

Red: He had information that’s important to me.
Liz: And I thought you just wanted us to catch the pygmy three-toed sloth.
Red: Our professional relationship is symbiotic. I help you, you help me.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

I am sharing some observations I made about the first two episodes of TBL under our Theories page. Since we are not as active as we once were I just wanted to let you all know in case you are interested in the discussion.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

By the beach, by the beach, by the beautiful beach ... I've been thinking about the opening episode again, perhaps because it's my favorite of the three that have aired so far. Isn't it interesting that Masha was taken from one oceanside summer house to another, and that Tom was also kidnapped from an oceanside summer house? Kaplan set Liz up in a Cuban oceanside summerhouse after she fake died. I know this writing team likes its parallels, but isn't this a bit much?

Well, it just so happens, this hacienda comes with its very own private beach. And this private beach just so happens to look particularly beautiful bathed in moonlight. And there just so happens to be a full moon out tonight.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

Yes Tuxie, a lot of beach stuff!

During my re-watch it really stood out to me that the Sheriff called him Red, not Raymond.  I take that as he knew him better than we may think.  He said that ,"One of you called Claiming to be Red Reddington's kid?"

His name is Donnelly, the same name Red used in Cape May.  I just find that a bit interesting.  So many names out there and he has the same one?

Oh that's interesting, I am so bad at remembering names.
Somewhere on this board we tried to figure out if there was a pattern to who called Red what: Raymond, Reddington, Red, Ray, etc. but we never quite found a pattern. Only person I know who called him Ray though was Fitch.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

I did speculate for a while that the people who called him Red knew him from before he went into hiding. If the Redarina theory is true, then it would be even more compelling because Katarina of course was a red-head and it's not uncommon to use the nickname 'Red'.

Re: Episode 6.01 - Dr. Hans Koehler

The list of names is under history.
I do remember that just Fitch called him Ray.

The name list looks like it covers the first 4 seasons or at least most of it.
There are 10 people listed up to that point who called him Red and most of them are the bad guys...

Making an edit because I got a phone call and lost my track of thought. lol

Not a pattern exactly.  But it does seam like mostly Blacklisters or bad guys have called him Red.
Season 5 isn't on the list of names.  Maybe as any of us do a re-watch we can make note of who calls him what if you want.
