One other thing I found odd was that Red called her Naomi. Wasn’t her real name Carla? I would think he would use her ‘real’ name when talking to Jennifer, who would surely know her mother’s name. I initially thought she was really alive, But Red did seem genuinely surprised at seeing her grave. Good grief, this show is driving me crazy!

Samar in peril just doesn't grab me. I'll be less affected by her death than Mieera's back in Season 1.
I’m the opposite. I didn’t care at all about Meera dying. I never felt chemistry with the team with her. Samar has been with the team a long time and had a strong history with them. Plus it would hurt Aram if she died and I feel like a mama bear when it comes to Aram. I want to protect him.

Brittany - I would feel bad for Aram, and the whole task force would be grieving.

It's also possible, as pointed out earlier, that Frank killed Naomi. But I'm really not sure what the whole
point of bringing in Jennifer and her mother has to do with advancing the bones storyline. Jennifer lasted about as long as Berlin's daughter, and Berlin is dead. Garvey is presumed dead. These pieces just aren't adding up for me.
Did Mr. Kaplan know Naomi? I'm not sure she would've done anything to her when she was taking
apart RR's organization. They would've been on the same side, I would think.

Coco - I was also surprised that Red called her Naomi instead of Carla. The show always gives us more questions than answers. Maddening!

Did we ever see him refer to Jennifer by the name Jennifer this episode (to her face, not just his interaction with Liz)? Perhaps it was out of respect that she wasn’t Carla anymore? She has probably spent nearly as much time as Naomi as she did as Carla. Maybe more. And Jennifer has lived the majority of her life not named Jennifer. Naomi said in that cabin in season 2 that Carla Reddington didn’t exist anymore. That’s probably how she and Jennifer tended to see their lives. Those people don’t exist anymore because they can’t.

Maybe Garvey killed her? But Frank is more likely.
I hope she is alive somewhere. I thought JB said she was coming back because of Red having contact with her?

I hope they don't kill off Samar. That would really throw off the chemistry in the show. Yes, get rid of Ressler if someone has to go, but I'd rather they keep the team together.

She had been Naomi since Jennifer was about 6 years old.

Maybe they changed their mind and decided to kill off her character entirely?
I'll quit here for now. I'm confused.

He said Red’s mind is on her and that her storyline was reignited. I don’t believe he ever actually said we would see her. Since we hadn’t heard about MLp filming I thought perhaps it would be a one sided phone call or something that didn’t require us seeing her.
Perhaps MLP wasn’t interested in returning and so they killed her (if the death is random and not related to Red’s secret). Because if they tried to use a different actress fandom would assume a conspiracy.
I’m interested to see how Jennifer is kept around. It looks like she definitely filmed for the finale. In a cemetery again. I wonder if she will be in the next episode. Two more weeks folks. Then we can spend all summer trying to figure out the next batch of questions they leave us with. Lol

Always fun to see Bob 'Warden Samuel Norton Juan Perón (etc)' Gunton.
I ooohed appreciatively when his name came up in the credits for this installment in the Blacklist/Columbia House Cult of the Week Club!

Redismycopilot, Nice to see you on here. He does play the part so well!

I was wondering about Samar and why she was taken. Do you suppose he had a contract from someone else to take Samar too? He had no reason to Take her. He could have left her.

But even more than all the Naomi questions, my biggest question is why did Judson just tell Red where Garvey sent the bag of bones. Maybe I just had missing time there, but did Red either threaten Judson or offer him a bribe? The guy just seemed to willingly tell Red what he wanted to know. Too easy.
Maybe it’s a trap for Red. Garvey's setup to kill Red in case he was killed first.

I thought Red seemed genuinely sad to see Naomi's headstone. I think he was telling the truth to Jennifer as far as what he told her. But it was only the tip of the iceberg and he didn’t tell her everything, nothing more than she needed to hear. As usual. I think we always figured the Cabal was involved. And probably the rest of the Map of Doom. But wow, we haven't heard the Cabal even mentioned for a long time.
Good Blacklister storyline, sort of L. Ron Hubbard meets Stephen King. Between that and the Red backstory stuff, I wouldn’t have expected anything less from A story by Bokenkamp and Reiter.
They’ve really left us up in the air re Samar's fate. Could go either way. I hope she makes it. That’s all we would need - yet another avenging angel FBI agent in the room.
I worry about Reds decision to fly off to Costa Rica, or anywhere for that matter, with his concussion and brain bleed. Good thing he’s taking the doctor with him - that might come in handy when he has a cerebral hemorrhage at 30,000 feet.

Hw, it could be. I'm sure Garvey had things in place.
Well, at least we got some background straight out of Reds mouth. It backs up what we heard in the pilot. It was interesting to think that he sits down with Jennifer to explain everything to her which is actually Liz wanted. But even though he took the time to explain it to her she's still not being forgiving towards him. I do get what he was saying but she didn't seam to grasp the meaning.
So red confirms that he basically had tried to destroy the cabal and then started the ball rolling against him having both the CIA and the Kgb against him.
And he said he abandoned them on Christmas Eve and talks about the car on the side of the road.
She said after he left they were put in Witness Protection. So what that tells me is that Christmas Eve and school vacation came and went. And sometime after she was back in school they moved.
I'm sure the Red picked up on the discrepancies of the story from Naomi about Jennifer.
I just think maybe Naomi knew the danger of her being his child and was afraid someone might take her in retaliation to him. Otherwise her being so afraid of him makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.

And of course, it could very well be that Naomi isn’t really dead. She wouldn’t be the first one to fake her death to escape from Red. And yes, wouldn’t she have been buried under her assumed name rather than Naomi Hyland?
