James Spader on the Today show
James Spader will be on the Today show on February 15. Looks like he is scheduled to appear sometime in the 9-10Am hour. Aly Blacklist posted this time as well.

The only thing I worry about is whether or not he will be making any announcement about whether there will be season 5 or not. It seems odd that he will be on a whole week before the pre-break episode of TBL and the first episode of Redemption. But maybe that's just a schedule thing. And I really expect to see Ryan Eggold on TODAY before Redemption starts. He hasn't been on there in a while.

I think it would be great if they got Al Roker on the Blacklist. He's always been a huge fan of the show. I have to say, JS is probably the best secret keeper on the planet. Good for doing these talk show appearances, he gives nothing away. Amusing comment though about not knowing which episode was coming up on air because he's got three bouncing around in his head right now and none of them are it. And talking about playing Red. He's got a sort of love/hate relationship with his job. Just like most everybody. I think a lot of that goes back to comments he's made about doing series TV in the past, with hellacious schedules and we know he's not a morning person. 
I am not a morning person, so I can totally relate to that! My ideal day begins at 10 AM and ends at 2 AM. Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't follow my schedule either.

Al Roker said he could be a killer weatherman who is angry after a blown forecast.Then after the weather and local weather JS joined him in front of the weather map and Al said this was a dream come true. LOL!
And they were saying that during the commercial break Jamie and James were talking about what they were doing after the show and Jamie was off to do a fight and James was off to a prison. So that's the only thing that came out - they're probably shooting at a prison on Staten Island today.

HW - thanks for that report on the Today show! I missed it. James is spectacular when it comes to keeping his lips zipped. There's a clever interview of him from 4 months ago (I think) with a group of actors and writers? and James talks about waking up at 12 noon! He really is an unusual individual, but so compelling in any role he plays, as well as just being himself.
BTW, I did see something about the producers/directors for the post break episode (#15?) tweeting about how they're working on that right now. So I'm comforted in knowing they plan to continue all the way to the end of this season.

Tatiana, you can watch the main interview online. Just google "James Spader on Today's Take." It's about five minutes. They cut before Al Roker talks about playing a killer weatherman, though. LOL! JS was telling Jimmy Fallon the other day about not being a morning person, and by that he means not before noon. I think that's the part he hates about doing TV, if he has to be up and about before noon. He told Jimmy that he thought when he became an actor that he'd be working at night a lot and he would look at scripts to see if there were a lot of night shoots. Theater at night, but a lot of film and TV is day work. Oh well!

Honey West - thanks so much for the recap! I was not able to watch it live, and the video clip of the interview doesn't have the part about the weather map etc., so that was fun to hear about! I think it would be great if Al Roker had a part - I think its always fun when "real" TV personalities show up on another TV show, even as themselves in a cameo. Fun!
It seems that you and I are kindred spirits about not being morning people! Although with me its more like 11AM! And need coffee right away! I've been that way as long as I can remember, even as a child my parents had to turf me out of bed on the weekends as I'd be sleeping til 11! LOL. Then of course I am a night person (an "owl"), I get all of my ideas late at night and then of course can't sleep so I can be an imsomniac as well! LOL

Tatiana - yes, thankfully! they are proceeding and believe they are now filming episode 17, which will air after the hiatus. I'm not sure we will hear much about 16 + with the run up to the winter hiatus and Redemption, but we'll see!
