Easily the best TBL in perhaps 3 or 4 years.
Welcome back, Blacklist . . . .

Don't you just love how Ressler is the hottest thing on network TV for a full 2 weeks - and then - PRESTO - Nada, maybe 5 to 8 seconds of actual air-time. Heck, agent park grabbed at least triple the time Ressler was serviced with. Aram did not fare well in the stopwatch dept. either.

Eastcoast -- one single serve piece of Oreo pie that I found when I cleaned out my freezer, looking for the last pound of hamburger. What was on your plate?
I thought the show was interesting. I'll have to go back and research what happened to Marvin. I thought he was released. I'm not sure how he ended up back in jail. I had a hard time following that part. The rest of it made sense. It was fun having Al in there!

Aren't the shows being shown out of order? Yes, we're losing flow. I'm not going to complain. I'm happy we get a season finale.

BBB, I thought this was a great episode too. A lot happened. I really need to process this.
I wonder why Dembe told Red he was going to tell her? He shouldn't have said anything.
And Liz looks like she knows she made a mistake.

Oreo pie!!! That sounds good!!! 😀
I have a bag of mini candies and coconut cake. It is a 4 lb bag. Lol. Do not worry, I am working on it every day.
I think Marvin went back to Jail because of Kaplan. She left him wrapped around a pole if you recall.

I meant to add earlier, that it looks like Red believed she was dead.
I wonder what her reaction will be when she hears Berdy died?

Now that was an intense episode. We haven’t had one quite like that for awhile.
I just love that Al Roker finally got to be on the show, even if he didn’t get to be a "murderous weatherman".
Red's had this issue with Dembe before? I just remember back on the Anslo Garrick episode that Red was prepared to let Dembe be killed. He wasn’t happy about it, but he was going to let him be executed. They certainly have a conflicted relationship. Dembe didn’t have to say "but I was going to." And what’s Red going to do with the Imam? People who know Red's secrets don’t have long lifespans as a general rule. Perhaps Red will honor the religious rule of confidentiality. But then again, the Imam could still be a weak link for Dembe.
I always figured that Liz was going to be Red's successor or heir at some point. So far she has chosen Katarina, but this is not going to turn out well for any of them in the long run.
We still don’t know what’s wrong with Red, but it seems that Dembe does. Ressler said he didn’t read the file. I’m inclined to think maybe he didn’t. Mostly because he and Liz have been pretty free with the information sharing lately. But I can’t really believe that he didn’t peek at least a little bit.
What was that line from Katarina? "I don’t think one of us can live while the other survives." Ooh, foreboding. And the main theme tonight? Choices.
I certainly wouldn’t have recognized Tom Wopat.
And of course Katarina’s answer to whether Red knows she is alive. "He does now."

This was certainly an interesting episode, though it's a shame we knew the exact whereabouts of the blacklister from the very beginning. It would have been better if they only revealed the warden's role later on.
I feel like this episode wasn't as fast-paced as Nyle Hatcher or Twamie Ullulaq, but it was interesting all the way through. Finally things are coming near a closure, but I'm sad there's not gonna be the usual 22 episodes this season. Hopefully this won't affect the story too much and perhaps they'll still shoot those episodes as the first three of the next season.
It's interesting how KR says she doesn't think it's possible for her and Red to both survive... Just like Kaplan did in season 4. I think Dembe and the Imam will be safe from Red. Dembe has proven loyal time after time and Red seemed to understand that he was gonna save the Imam's life, who, on his turn, has never revealed anything about Red to anybody. Additionally, he is important to Dembe, which means that Red would not hurt him.

I agree with all that this was one of the best episodes iwith the full cast n awhile.
Eastcoast - You are right that Marvin went back to prison because of Kaplan. I loved that he was working in a toy store. He's always reminded me of an elf.
Honey West - It was great to see Al Roker finally made it on the show! I thought he did an exceptionally good acting job. What role did Tom Wopat play? The warden? Choices was indeed the theme of the show.
Yeti - I'm not so sure Dembe and the imam are safe from Red. This is the third time he's believed Dembe betrayed him. And, although in the end, he probably wouldn't harm Dembe, the writers want us to at least worry about it.

If it hadn't been for his voice... and the fact that I've been binge-rewatching the sitcom CYBILL (midway into Season 3) on PlutoTv.

Agree with all that. Yes, Marvin in a toy store. That was great! Not sure about his customer service skills, though. LOL!
I thought Al Roker did a great job. He seemed very comfortable. And they even got in his "your neck of the woods" saying. Although I think Red said it? Tom Wopat was the Blacklister - Roy Cain.
I think they had Dembe say that he would have talked because otherwise we might think he had said he'd talk to buy some time to try to thwart Katarina, without actually planning to say anything. They needed us, and Red, to clearly know that. I think Red is in a tough place with Dembe. Dembe talking would have betrayed him totally, and as the Imam said, a life built on lies will fall to pieces when the lies are revealed (or something like that). And if Red did in the Imam, that would probably be something that would tear Dembe apart. Like when Red shot Kaplan, and got himself a terrible enemy who knew all of his secrets. Red would have to get rid of both of them, IMHO.
And just what is up with Red? It might not be important as to what is wrong. From what Dembe said, it sounds like he could seek treatment for whatever it is. So it might be treatable. If that's the case then why not do it? Especially during that short happy time when he thought the world was safe without Katarina in it? If the treatment is dangerous, well, he's faced death many times before, so that shouldn't be the biggest issue. So I was thinking that maybe, in getting his "estate" together, it could be that he will seek a dangerous treatment and it could be that he isn't just worried about his illness doing him in, but maybe worried the treatment will. And now he has Katarina to worry about - again! Of course, it is mainly a plot device to push forward the resolution of his relationship with Liz. And - choices that they all will finally need to make.

Thanks for the reminders about Marvin! Yes, I remember now. There's a lot to keep track of in this show!

HW, I kept asking myself, who is that? I didn't recognize him either.
At the end, when KR was talking to Liz, I thought it had a threatening undertone to it.
I'm bringing it up because I try to watch this show with all the theories in mind.
One of the reasons I lean towards her being her mother, is she hasn't used Liz to get Red. If she wanted to get Red, she didn't need Ilya, Imam or Dembe. Red will trade himself in a minute for Liz.
I'm not saying there are not mothers out there who wouldn't use their kids to save their own life. KR does has a strong self survival mode about her. She said she had faith in herself. And she was willing to let the boy die to save herself.
So, did anyone else feel like she had a threatening undertone when she was talking to Liz?

That's a very good point about Katarina being Katarina. Red would do anything if Liz was threatened, yet Katarina hasn't used her for that. I wonder if she knows Liz will be in charge of the empire someday? I thought it was also telling that Red told Liz that she would be the logical choice since she was the daughter of Katarina Rostova. And I didn't get the idea that was a shoutout to Redarina.
I agree, I kind of got a threatening undertone to her conversation with Liz. But I felt the threat was more towards Reddington. I also get the idea that she is afraid to get too close to Liz. She's lived all these years having to bear the burden of abandoning Liz for her safety, plus she's probably not entirely sure how Liz really feels about her and about that. I know a lot of times we feel that Liz is too gullible and trusting, but at the same time, I think that is an act. She does really want to believe, but I think she knows better, down deep inside.

My guess after watching 8 yrs of TBL is that Katarina & Red (or Fake Red) kill each other in the series finale. I simply can't see Red putting down Katarina. That's too simple. Nor can I see Kat putting out Red's flame and living on. So the duel; Gunfight at the OK Corral is the logical outcome.
V.2 - similar to above theory; only Liz becomes 3rd party at OK Corral Gunfight and takes out her parents.

I think it will come down to Liz having to shoot Red or "Katarina." And I think it won't come until the beginning of Season 8 now.

I agree with Honey West. I think Fakerina's threatening tone is toward Red. And I did take Liz being the logical successor as Redarina clue.

I just can't see Katarina "offing" Red at the beginning of the final season. That means Spader would be no more as Reddington - however, that would certainly become the blockbuster outcome that no one, absolutely no one expects.
However, I could see Katarina offing Reddington in the first episode - then have the clock (episodes) move backward to show the genesis of the incident. (and leaves Spader alive to work his Red Magic for the balance of a final season)
