As I said last week - see you on the other side! (hope I spelled it right!)

OK, so I'm actually some kind of bleeding heart. I loved "THE JUNKIE" - he served to humanize Agent Park. The number was pretty good, too - in the end he didn't put up much of a fight.

Nice ending - Arambo should never book the wife of the executive producer, should he?
And then, the prospect of the evidence being tainted and Elodie being framed . . .
. . . . to be continued . . . .!!!

How do you finally reveal at least part of went down in Alaska?
You put her in PARK.

That whole thing with Aram was a very different Aram. Not so wishy washy. It would be a shame if she were really innocent. Either she is innocent or really good at her game. I just can't help to think she is up to something. Getting Frank Bloom's name tag I'd just too weird.
Redismycopilot, lol.
BBB,
Yes, they did humanize her, and gave her something in common with Liz.

Interesting Daniel Cerone-penned episode. I liked how they tied the story into the Cold War. We haven’t really gone there lately. Harold had to explain it to the kids.
So Park and Liz have both killed a parent. Unintentionally. Red knew all about it. Of course he would. He tested her by giving her the opportunity for revenge. I guess she passed.
I recall they said we’d get a Ressler story this season. Must be about his brother.
Red really knows how to hurt a guy. Dropping that very expensive bottle of fragrance on the floor and getting another one "to go", and gift wrapped.
I agree with Eastcoast. That wedding crash and getting the Frank Bloom name tag is too much of a coincidence. But I am thinking that she really did kill hubby. She’s a thrill seeker. Would be a thrill to get away with murder. Maybe she will try to leverage something she knows to get away with it. Only time will tell.
Meanwhile next week looks fun. Ilya sees Katarina. Will Red believe him? Maybe he thinks Ilya has lost his marbles after all the torture? Who will get to him first, Liz or Katarina? The plot thickens.
So, I wonder just how much of season seven they got finished before the shutdown? Since they have a season eight, I suspect they could just begin it with the unfinished episodes.
Hope everyone is doing okay. These are strange and uncertain times. I look forward to the Friday night Blacklist escape, and I’ve been watching a lot of Smithsonian Channel. I’m catching up on a zillion backlogged yard projects. I forgot I had a small pond in the backyard. I hadn’t really seen it for several years. LOL! Well, we’ve been shutdown for 28 days now out here. I guess it’s helping. even though we’re all getting a little stir crazy.
Stay well and be safe!

Huge task for writers & producers to "humanize" Park = its not so much the character. Its the actress.
Laura Sohn (Agent Park) shares a characteristic made pubic by repugnant ABC talk-show co-host (The View) Meghan McCain. McCain even admitted she's so disliked by so many, not because of her interruptive and irrelevant views but more for what she calls "RESTING BITCH FACE". Laura Sohn shares the same characteristic - even though McCain is a plump whitey and Sohn a super-fit Asian.

I really enjoyed this episode, definitely my favourite one since the break. I think the blacklist case had a lot of things you'd expect from this show: some mystery, a well-acted character, a personal connection, a cold war background and a shootout in the end.
It also played a lot with the show's theme: family. We learn about Park's history with her mom, Aram deals with the truth about Elodie's husband and we are prepared to learn more about Ressler's brother.
I think there were some great moments in this episode. I liked how agent Park saved her own enemy for survival, and in the end he saved her by killing one of Ullulaq's men.

Yeti - I agree with all points in your post. This was my favorite episode in a long time. I liked not having to think about Red and Fakerina. But that will be short lived according to the promo for next week.
RedIsMyCopilot - Put her in Park. LOL
I liked the parallels between Park and Liz in killing a parent accidentally when each was trying to help her mother. The episode did make me warm to Park some.
Honey West - I agree The Blacklist is a great escape during this uncertain times.

Yep! Decent episode!
My snack was popcorn with powdered cheese and a little real butter. Yum!

My remark about Laura Sohn have "resting bitch face" was first promulgated by Meghan McCain on her ABC show, The View.
Just to be specific - Meghan McCain said it about herself, trying to explain why so many viewers are unhappy with her. btw - I'm unhappy with her - and its not just her look.
Laura Sohn is afflicted by same type of condition.
However, not all actors of Asian descent have this characteristic.
Ming-Na Wen (agent Mellissa May on Agents of SHIELD) is very Asian looking but her expression is that of welled up hate and mistrust of all around her - ready to do battle in a heartbeat, she's a warrior, and that's why she's one of the most beloved characters in TV fiction.
Other character is Grace Park of Hawaii Five o fame - Park almost has a girl next door look, totally different than Laura Sohn, Meghan McCain, etc.
Ming Na Wen - is more the face of ferocity. She would have been incredible on The Blacklist, I do believe!

Just a quick (and very sad) note:
The great character actor Brian Dennehy who played Liz Keen's grand-father on The Blacklist, died today, aged 81.
Dennehy had a long and storied career in film, television and on-stage. A real professional with a grizzled edge who specialized in certain types of grizzled & gnarled characters.
RIP, Mr. Dennehy - and sincere condolences to your family and your extended Blacklist family & viewers/fans.

Ditto to what you said BBB.

I just read this... and was about to post it.
I guess they'll need to rewrite things if he was expected to return.
Offline
My condolences to his family! That's tragic.
I suppose that they could also find another actor who looks like him, keep him wrapped up in bandages or write some plastic surgery into the script.

I can't imagine any actor playing the Dennehy part on Blacklist. Way out thought - Drew Carey, with a bit of makeup could get reasonably close to him - but Dennehy had a commanding voice - Carey is basically a squeaky comic.
Kevin Chapman, who's only in his mid 50s could also play Grandpa - Chapman is burly and squat, he's only 5'8" where Dennehy was well over 6', perhaps 6'2", but Dennehy's height never really displayed on TBL. Chapman could prolly pull off the accent - and he's not squeaky like Drew Carey.

Alfred Molina maybe?

Good call - also John Goodman, one of my favorite actors of all-time could be a very charismatic substitute.

I was very sorry to hear that today. Very sad. What a great actor! I like the way he brought Doms character to life.
Redismycopilot,
I didn't get the impression they are going to get anyone el.
I read that he will be in an upcoming episode. So we will get to enjoy him again in this show.
