You get three gold stars for knowing what a Hawaladar is and a Grammy for knowing how to pronounce it correctly.
Tonight's episode should be harrowing as we last left knowing "Katarina" knocking on Frank Bloom's door and we're all know Frank is actually Ilya, Katarina's friend from way back.
What a tangled web we weave! So far NBC is coming in pretty well on our antenna, but it's fickle. So I'll see you all on the other side. I"m looking forward to all of your comments!

Tatiana, I hope your antenna hangs in there.
I'm really looking forward to this one. Hoping we get some answers. This looks like a good one. And we need a good one.
IW, I made pineapple crisp! I must say it's very Awesome!
What do you have cooking for tonight?

Aram to Park: "You've been here all of nine seconds and already you're more jaded than Agent Dressler!"
Classic TBL/Aram humor
Great opening sequences,

Never thought I'd see Red absolutely terrorize Glen (The Finder) like he did tonight - but then again perhaps we don't know Red after all?

Laura Sohn's finest work yet as Agent Park. Magnificent performance narrative near end of episode.

Just WHO IS 'Ilya' to Red? This seems to be the only other person besides Dembe (and , sniff, I *guess* Liz) whom he cares about all others.
A relative perhaps? Brother?
I did kind of feel for Jellybean a bit there tonight, and wonder if *he'll* ever get pushed to the brink and turn against Red. I do hope not!

Eastcoast, I love pineapple crisp! It was popcorn from the air popper tonight, with just a touch of sea salt and 1 teaspoon of melted butter. Gotta save all my calories for next Thursday!
Fairly good show tonight. Yes, Red was on the warpath. We haven't seen him take meds lately, but I also wonder if some of that was his illness talking. He may have limited time to do "whatever," and he can't have Ilya spilling the beans to Fake KR.
I had the feeling that the German doctor might have had something to do with wiping Liz's memories.

I'm not sure what to think when Park becomes the smartest character on the show now. Smarter than Cooper, Red, or Liz. She's proving herself to be smart and tough,
I was totally shocked by Ilya being willing to commit suicide rather than talk. But then he was always serious about pledging his life to Redarina - I mean Katarina. I was also shocked at Red's treatment of Jellybean - but he did get results. Red is acting as desperate as he was in Season 5 about getting the bones.
I thought this was the best episode since 7.2. I can't wait to see what the memory expert extracts next episode from Ilya.

I saw Michael Cerveris's name... is he Memory Expert?

I didn't recognize the memory guy as Michael Cerveris, but it it might be. He was supposed to be in the episode.

My takeaway too.
Very minor observations are names: Beth and Atticus.
Someday we may know why they do this but I"m not holding my breath.

This was a good episode. I like that we got some more to the Belgrade mythology. I think it's interesting that while "Katarina" still wants to kill Dom, even though she can see he was doing it to protect Masha (first time she's used the name and not in reference to Liz btw...I think that's important), and she sees no justification to what Ilya did, therefore even more deserving of being killed by her in her mind, she cried when she thought he almost killed himself. Who weeps over someone they're planning to kill? The woman is bats**t crazy. At this point I think it's definite that she's former KGB who worked with Ilya and Dom in the past. What I think she's looking for from Red, Dom and now Ilya is where the real Katarina is, because producing her will get the Townsend Directive off of her and onto the real person they're hunting.
I am not a fan of Agent Park. I think her presence has taken away from Aram (ironically just as he worried about when she showed up!). I think he was in one scene last night. I think she's supposed to be a counter to the cognitive dissonace and confirmation bias going on at the post office with regard to Red. The outsider with the voice of reason that they've all gone over the edge as far as Red is concerned and don't even realize it. But I don't want to hear that 'voice of reason' and it's insulting to me as a viewer to have them point it out. I like being on team Red !
I'm glad Liz saw through Maddy when she tried to turn the picture thing around on Liz trying to suggest it was because she is an FBI agent. She over explained and that pushed the wrong button with Liz, who after all is a profiler and is supposed to be good at reading people (although we never seem to see that aspect of her the way she's being written lately). And now Liz is going to start asking the questions she should've asked from day one.
Yes, the memory doctor is Michael Cerveris. He was great in Fringe, glad to see him again! (second Fringe character, we got Lance Reddick from Fringe too in Season 1)
A PREDICTION so somewhat of a SPOILER: I am a little worried that they are going to drag out the Ilya capture until the end of episode 10 (the spring break). And then they'll kill whoever could reveal to the audience Red's secret. So if it's Ilya remembering something that he didn't remember before or did remember but hasn't revealed yet, and it is key to the mystery, they'll kill him off and if it's "Katarina" who got secrets out of him, they'll kill her off before she can say them aloud. Maybe I'm being jaded but it would fit the pattern of the series.

I forgot to ask this.
That was one of Red's people who stole the money on the street, right? I have to rewatch a few scenes to be sure. I think they showed the hawalader's people rolling up the cash and Red's people unrolling cash. Does anyone know for sure?

Yes, I thought that was Red's guy who made off with the hawaladar's money. It made it that much more funny that Red was going to lend it back to him.

That's what it looked like to me, but I'll look at that scene again on the re-watch. I was so tired last night that I'm sure there were things that I missed.
You bring up some good points. Yes, KR/Fake KR is nutso.
If she is that crazy, how has she avoid detection for this long? Is she actually a recent construct? Who tortures a captive in their own apartment, with the FBI standing guard outside? If that isn't nuts . . .

immo this was Agent Park's best episode - certainly taking the lead over Ressler (who she had to rescue on at least one occasion) and now trumpeting thoughts about why an FBI sub-unit is working hand-in-hand with a "Most Wanted" criminal . . . . mostly questioning the conceit of the series - ON THE SHOW ITSELF..
Liz developing a blind eye (whats it, her 10th blind eye) to Fake Katarina is now an expected trope of the show. Liz & Ressler in serious competition for "DUMBEST FBI AGENT" award.

That's for sure! Ressler needs a love interest. He'd at least have an excuse for being half there at times.

I thought that was a bit over the top. I felt like I was watching a bully...
At least he apologized.

I agree about Park. I do not have anything against her, I just don't know why she's getting so much screen time being so new? I did a much needed rewatch today, and I just don't think she meshes with them. Not for me anyway.
Samar was a bit dry sometimes, but she fit the crew. They should have introduced her into the show differently in my humble little opinion.
I too was surprised he would try to kill himself before he would talk. When he started messing with those strings I got a bad feeling...
