"Dembe doing needlepoint" - not.
Dembe was doing embroidery. Rosey Grier does needlepoint.

Good catch!
I know some former special ops guys (retired) who knit. They learned in the service. I remember that Rosey Grier did needlepoint, but I don't know any guys personally who do, and it's fallen out of favor with the women I know who are into crafts: crocheting sleeping mats for the homeless and tote bags (and rugs) from plastic bags is a big thing for them.
I did some embroidery in high school when embroidered jeans were popular. I had an artist friend draw roses on my back pockets, and I filled those in with satin and chain stitches. It was fun, but it took me a long time. I sew a lot better with a machine.

LOL! Needlepoint is a type of embroidery, but clearly, Dembe was doing embroidery.
I did a lot of embroidery in the 70's. Denim shirts, jeans. All by hand. Had a boyfriend who loved embroidered shirts.
Yes, Tuxie, I thought Ilya's reaction to Liz was sort of surprising. I just figured he had maybe only known her as a very small child and certainly only before Liz's memory wipe. He was there on Fire Night, wasn't he? Maybe Red told him that she had begun to remember things from that night and that's what he was worried about. Who knows. But I am sure looking forward to the mid-season finale and wondering if we will learn anything more about that.

Tuxie, I could have just screamed out loud when Liz looked at her and said she would share a secret with her!
KathyN,
I am hoping that if it happens that Aram sees the Bloom name, something will kick in and tell him that this woman is bad news! She is just a weirdo!
I guess Agnes is going to draw a picture for her mommy... Lol
I think lara1 is the one who brought it up a long time ago that we see a lot of brown corduroy coats. Frank was wearing one at the camp-site.
I do not claim to know who anyone is, but I did take note that Dembe called the woman Katarina.
I added Ilya Koslov's birthday to the timeline. I think I saw 6.3.59. If I am wrong or you think you saw something different please let me know.
Did anyone get any other information on the pages that KR was looking at? I could see 1991.
HW, I found the reaction by Ilya odd at first, but then I was thinking that same thing.

The show-runners could prolly get another 3 or 4 years of service out of this show if they morphed it into what its apparently becoming - a TV spy drama that's turning into a veritable "Seinfeld" semi-dark sitcom.
Call it "SPADER" or even "SPADER WORLD"

I hereby dub this episode the tribute to CHINATOWN:
I'm his father AND his mother!

How similar to what Redarina theorists think Red will be to Liz.

Eastcoast - I noticed the brown corduroy jacket too. Tom, Kaplan, Dom, and now Ilya have worn a brown corduroy jacket. I remember the old days when we used to consider symbolism more seriously.

I believe symbolism was used, quite effectively, in the show, but it "feels" like they've either dropped it altogether or they've just become sloppy about it.
Makes me kind of sad.

In BLACKLIST: Seinfeld Edition wonder who plays Kramer? Ressler or Aram?

I also notice the look on Ilya's face when Liz came by! He definitely had a reaction. I think I'll go back and rewatch that scene a few times.
Just a head's up. I notice on the schedule for that week that there's no episode on Nov 29th, which of course is to be expected as it's Thanksgiving weekend. So we'll have one this coming Friday and then skip a week.

KathyN - That's right: no episode on Nov. 29, and then two in Dec.

Yes, with 7.10 being the mid-season finale.

So noted. I'll stock up on movies on DVDs from the library. We're supposed to get a huge
storm in the Midwest over Thanksgiving if Accuweather is correct. It'll be a good time to watch things.

On the rewatch I really don’t see any specific reaction by Frank when Liz shows up at the campsite. He’s amused by her joke about Red's food choice, but mostly just seems to be observing her.

Honey West - I don't rewatch any more - at least I haven't been compelled enough to this season. I'm amazed that you didn't see any reaction. For me, I saw the reaction when "Frank" first heard Red's words to Liz, and he gave her sort of the dirty look as she walked by.. I would agree there was no reaction when Red introduced Liz.

Frank's back is to the audience when Liz walks up so we don't see his initial reaction but he definitely has a 'look' when she passes him. Then he laughs at her joke and excuses himself. It's that initial look that they showed him having that is interesting to me. To me it looks like he someone who has heard about someone for a long time, and it's the first time they seem them in person? Or possibly he's thinking how much she looks like her mother? Or maybe it's apprehension because now she's going to meet him and know who he is instead of being in the shadows?
I rewatched it (at the official NBC site online) and then thought to search youtube to see if it was posted. It was. So now we can all rewatch those 30 seconds more easily. I have multiple times <g>. (I edited the link so it starts right when Liz walks up. If you hit the settings button in the lower right corner you can change the speed of the clip. I slowed it down by half and was able to perseverate on it even more.)

Thanks, KathyN. I think you are correct in your description of Frank's reaction. Someone he’s heard about for a long time and finally meets. He likely met her as a child but hasn’t seen her as an adult. His reaction was interest, not shock or surprise. As they said in the previews, KR now has someone who has all of the answers. So I think it’s safe to say that Ilya probably knows "everything".

Yes, interest.I didn't see it as shock or suprise either. He's known about her for years, heard about her, everything they're doing now is about her. And then she walks up and right past him, looking a lot like Lotte Verbeek btw, and he had that expression of 'interest'. He's a great actor, he played it really well.

KathyN - I would agree with your assessment of the "the look." Cullen is a terrific actor. I believe Ilya knows everything too. That's why I don't think he'll survive.
