This looks to be an episode with an interesting, albeit scary, blacklister(s). Les Fleurs de Mal has to do with decadence and vice, something Red is quite fond of. I wonder thought if he'll be up for it in his current condition

Tatiana, thanks! It looks a bit scary/creepy to me. Creepy to me that anyone can even think that stuff up!
Hope everyone has their goodies ready!

Yep! Just got home. I've got sesame chicken, spring rolls, a pot of Chinese restaurant tea, and almond cookies. Bring it on! Not too gory, please.

Barbie doll with a mic . . . the stage is set for all manner of mischief.
An aside: this is how I feel about Alexa and why I don't want that sort of technology in my house. Granted, anyone listening is going to hear me swearing at my sewing machine and having nonsense conversations with my cat, but it's just the idea that someone might be listening.

All I could think of when I saw that IW, was that Liz has cameras in her apartment, right?

LOL! I feel the same way, IW. I put stickers over the cameras on my computers.

I do the same thing HW and IW. Alexa is Not Allowed in Our House!
( short story )
A few years back, A friend of mine was chatting with someone online and they said they happened to like something in their livingroom. After a few minutes it struck them they could see in their house. They shut the computer off asap!
They also called me the next day to apologize for calling me paranoid because I cover the camera. 😏

Y'all know I love food!!! That sounds really good. Especially the spring rolls. Haven't had them in a while. I have some peanut sauce that is now calling me to make some.
I did have my sweets ready! Coconut cake and some nature valley bars.

I was wondering if Liz's security cameras might catch K's spy antics. Only time will tell.

I was very surprised to see Jodi Walker of EW ranked this week's episode above last week's. She actually gave it an A. Since I have nothing so positive to say, I'll say nothing at all. Suffice it to say my grade would have been much lower.

It has its moments, like when the nurse jumped into the pool, but I agree: overall, last week's was better.
May mean nothing! But did anyone else notice that the K on the note matched the type of K on the tree? (where the suitcase bones were buried?)
Eastcoast: I love coconut cake! I was eating Chinese food because I've been getting off work at six and with TBL on Fridays, it's faster (and a treat) to stop at HyVee's China Express (HyVee is an employee-owned grocery chain in IA and MN). They have pizza, too. I hope to be back on an earlier schedule, soon. I don't like having my evenings impinged on, although I'm grateful to have a job!

Tuxie,
I'm going to read a few reviews in a bit. Not my favorite episode.
Although I think Amir did a great job with his character, I am not really thrilled with this episode. Maybe a rewatch will make a difference???
Not happy seeing Aram in a house with a married woman and her husband in there! I don't care what Condition he is in. It just felt disappointed. No rewatch will change that for me.
All I could think of when KR went in her apartment, were her cameras. Which should be On since she has her daughter home and Red was kidnapped.
In the back of my mind however, are the pics of the upcoming episodes which told me she did Not. People outside the building to keep an eye out does not take place of cameras since they have no idea what she looks like.
This will be poor writing or making Liz look stupid again if that doesn't come up.

IW, I did notice that. And jumping in the pool was about the most exciting thing I saw...
I will check on my rewatch, but I though I saw 2 boxes of Chinese on the table as if someone else was there, nor maybe they just wanted us to think that.
I did want to mention that I had seen some comments about KR not using the name Masha and using Elizabeth.
I wouldn't think she would even though Kirk did.
RL is calling....

I'd rate this week and last week's episode about equal. The diabolical death games were gruesome television but handled well by solid direction. Aram's new girlfriend also played G's girlfriend JOELLE on NCIS: LA. She carries amazing screen presence with just enough vulnerability to be believable.
Of course, the last 2 episodes belonged to Natalie Paul, cast as The Nurse, aka Franchesca Campbell. She's growing on Red, he even spoke to the camera when he rated her performance as top notch.
Lots of stories running, intersecting, bisecting & udder-secting. But Nurse Franky has gone from a nondescript extra in the season opener to one of the most intriguing characters on TBL.

I mentioned in a post on another one of our topics that I had a thought about the K on the tree. We just assumed it stood for Katarina, but what if it stands for Koslov? I suppose it could stand for Kaplan or Kate, but I somehow don't think so. Koslov might make for some interesting speculation.

EC and Tuxie, same thoughts here about Liz's security cameras. I would think that with Agnes home she would be even more careful to keep some security systems up and running. And I am not buying the storyline of her so readily accepting that new lady next door as a friend and letting her cozy up to Agnes so quickly. Maybe she hasn't had time to review her security recordings to see KR sneaking into her apartment and switching the Barbie doll. Or maybe she has and is just playing along to see what that "Maddy" woman is up to. KR's spy cam already got Steinhil killed. Her taunting note to Red you're good but I'm better, letting him know that she is the one currently in control of their relationship. I'm also back to thinking she was the one who sent him that painting. He's known she was still alive all along, but maybe didn't quite know where she was. And as long as her name remained unspoken and no one was overtly searching for her, they maintained that status quo and didn't bother each other. Sort of like Fitch and Red's agreement. Then along comes Liz who begins digging up the past. And why does Liz start doing this? Because Red popped into her life and she began questioning things.

This episode strained credulity 3 times.
1. As already mentioned, that Liz wouldn't have security cameras working in her apt. And that she wouldn't do a background check on her new neighbor who is obviously trying to insinuate herself into her and Agnes' lives considering the extensive background checks she's been running on potential nannies with Aram.
2. That Red doesn't have his own security team watching the building that would not report back to him, with pictures, that Liz has a new next door neighbor. I can forgive the plot of the FBI being sloppy or not suspicious, but it doesn't follow the established story line of how careful Red is around Liz's security. Red's team would be taking pictures of anyone new entering the building, especially a new neighbor and show them to Red even if they don't know who she is, they'd let Red see them to see if he did.
3. That when they got the Illusionists info, that Cooper didn't send the team in to pick him up, or send the FBI in to pick him up - considering how he was able to fool Ressler and the FBI the last time - but instead Liz had time to go home and call Red with the info she got from an interrogation that took place in the post office and call Red from home, and he got to the address (and "katerina" got there) before the FBI or Cooper's team got there, even though her cellphone works in the post office and works in the car on the way home. And why didn't Cooper immediately send a team to pick him up? Especially when they all accuse Red of giving them numbers he wants so he can get to those people first for his own benefit, something they actively try to prevent, and especially because Liz has been accusing Red of keeping secrets from her and would want to get to the illusionist before him so she could get some of the answers she so desperately wants. But this week, she gets vital info and holds on to it, has Ressler not tell Cooper, and waits an hour or so until she checks out of work, drives home and then calls Red with it from her apt. In what universe is that even slightly believable?!

MORE:
I love the nurse character, I hope she becomes a regular. I didn't love Aram starting an affair with a married woman whose husband was in the house. I found the background story disturbing to watch, it was darker than usual.
I saw Liz looking at "katarina" with some wistfulness and I thought the producers were trying to hint that she had some recognition, even if subconscious, of her 'mother' while watching her read to Agnes. Worth mentioning is that she had zero recognition of Alexander Kirk who raised Masha as her father (also considering my new back-burner theory that Liz isn't really Masha; if so, Kirk wasn't her father or the man who raised her so of course she didn't recognize him, but what would that say to her recognizing this woman? Could she be this woman's daughter who Red kidnapped to replace Masha at Sam's house? Was Elizabeth actually the name of that daughter? I know that's NOT where this is going, but I think it's more interesting than the story we're getting right now). EDITING TO ADD: she had no recognition of Kaplan either, and of the three of them (Katarina, Alexander and Kaplan) she spent the most time with her nanny who despite being told not to, did form a loving bond with the baby. Of course a mother's bond would be the strongest so if she'd recognize any of them, it would be her mother, but if she didn't recognize Red, Kirk or Kaplan, or Dom!, I don't think she'd recognize Katarina either).
