Hi everyone. Things are a little calmer today so I'm happy to open our evening's discussion. Thank you so very much to Tuxie for carrying the water the last few weeks!
Let the discussions begin!

Unlike the previous episodes this season, I haven't watched any sneak peeks for this one. So I'm looking forward to being surprised as well as delighted this evening.
You're welcome, Tatiana! Anytime things are hectic, just let me know. I'm happy to start the thread. I just checked and was going to post if you hadn't already.

Thank You Tatiana for starting the thread!
No sneak peeks Tuxie? I am impressed! I looked at everything I could. Lol
I hope everyone has their rabbit ears in working order and IW has her wine stash ready!!

No spoilers for me too.
This Blacklister is pretty sharp. I have to say, I loved how Red manipulated the situation to put Anna McMann on alert. He's after her!

He may have started out as a background character (computer genius w/ a morbid personality) but tonite Amir Arison became a major TV star. WOW - did that guy ever shine in every scene he was provided . . .
Especially the final scene! Talking it out with his surveillance!

BBB - I agree Amir's performance was brilliant! The blacklister took a backseat to Aram's story this week.

So Red is taking pills and injections now. And we don't know anything more about his illness. I wonder if it was just coincidence that the Parkinson's Disease fundraiser was part of the Blacklist storyline.

Yep! Red wine and popcorn (air popped). Excellent show! My only complaint was the music as the end was too loud, so I couldn't hear clearly what Ressler was saying to that other agent about picking his/her brain about KR. Did anyone hear that? Otherwise, I'll look at the transcript when it comes out.
I thought it was so creepy (and a nice touch) when Aram was talking to the spy camera. That scene provided a nice bit of closure.
I like where the Blacklist is going right now. I hope Red is not too sick. This show is so much more interesting when he's out be-bopping around.

Read some Calvin and Hobbes!

Iowa Watcher - Ressler was talking to someone who had worked on Katarina Rostova's case when that person was at Langley. I thought Ressler called him O.J., but like you said, the loud music made it hard to hear.

That's not the first time Red has mentioned Calvin and Hobbes.

Thanks, Tuxie!
I so hope we get some sort of KR sighting.

I heard OJ, but my closed caption said MJ. I find the CC helps because I also think the music is too loud sometimes.
That was Really Creepy that there was a camera that he was talking to!!

I thought it was a great episode. Amir's performance was nuanced and brilliant! I loved Ressler telling Liz he wasn't going to drop the search for Red's identity and would be pursuing information on Katarina. This episode wrapped up Aram being at odds with Reddington, and set up future storylines with Red and the task force investigating Anna McMahon and Ressler investigation Katarina Rostova. It has me psyched about upcoming episodes.

The two new female characters (The Englishwoman & the gal involved in destroying America) are attractive entities but nowhere near the gravitas of Samar. Samar is missed - but the best thing about her being gone is that Aram is now allowed to grow in so many directions, rather than being a panting lap dog to the #2 female lead.
TBL show-runners gradually introducing Red's injections and pills is obviously leading to a more complicated arc involving possible cures - but before that I'm sure Ressler, Jen & Liz will find evidence of someone else who has identical symptomology

Excellent episode! Red and Aram still have that special relationship, as Aram said once. I figured he would go back to work in the end, but it really shows how much he has grown Since the old days where he was terrified of Red. The character of Aram has just become a gold mine over the years. I think it was Amir who tweeted that Liz needing help was like catnip to Aram. So she’s kryptonite to Red and catnip to Aram. Red knew how to reel him in. When Dembe handed Red the laptop you just knew Aram was going to have to rescue him from all that technology. Red really looked pretty clueless about how to work the computer. I have an anti-tech friend who Red reminds me of.
So what’s up with Red? Pills and needles? I’m inclined to think that it might be something triggered by or resulting from his being poisoned. Or maybe it’s from all of the accumulated damage he’s sustained over the years, if you can believe all of his stories. Whatever it is, it seems to be progressing. Maybe it’s something he’s had going on for a long time that has been either asymptomatic or under control, but is now necessitating a need for new, more radical, treatments. It could also be part of the reason he came into Liz’s life. And, last but not least, maybe it’s what leads up to the season finale.

hi California Honey West - I fully expect the season finale to throw us a minor bone (or two) but moreso set the stage for next season's TBL docket.
TBL s-runners are extremely stingy with big reveals. So after teasing Red's illness for only 2 eps - I don't suppose they're prepared to spoil the reveal in only the 3rd ep.
McMahon and her Englishwoman have become the latest recurring characters. The English lady is a very unique actress. Jenn Ferrin, who plays McMahon is fairly linear. I expect one, but not both to survive into next season - which now could appropriately be entitled "The Red Scare Saves America"

I think whatever disease Red has, it may be the reason he came into Liz's life. It's interesting to me that the Motor Cortex Degenerative Disease that Spalding Stark was working to cure in The Pharmacist and Parkinson's Disease, mentioned is this episode, are similar. Both start in the brain and affect motor function. Samar's disease is also a disease of the brain. I remember in the episode where Red got out of prison, some fans on another site were commenting that his gait seemed off, like Spader was having trouble walking. I think he was just portraying a symptom. Someone elsewhere mentioned Red's hand was shaking a bit when he was holding his glass on the plane. I'll have to look for that on my rewatch.
