Our Blacklist Boy is being played by Christopher Lambert, who played delicious villain Janvier on NCIS: Los Angeles, 6 episode arc . . . . he was NCIS's best villain - by far!

I knew it would end just that way on a cliffhanger!

I do not think anyone is surprised about this ending. But I am excited to see how much pardon he gets from the pres.

I know one thing, I did Not want to see those stupid bugs again.

ARGH!
This episode was already painful but then they cut it off at the crucial moment. Yes, I have wine. I'm about ready to heat up some nachos and have another glass.
I scared my cat when I started yelling, "No, no, no!" at the screen when the stupid bugs started flying out of the German Chancellor. Honestly, I was looking around for Mulder and Scully. For that matter, Scully could've injected Red with whatever drugs they used to make Liz look dead and save him that way.
Yeah, I know . . . but this whole arc is just really stretched out and annoying.
I do think the cabbage soup and dressed herring is a Russian dish. I'll research it more in the morning when I'm less annoyed.

Iowa Watcher. - Dressed Herring is a very traditional Russian festive dish known as Shuba or seledka pod shuboy, that means in translation herring under a fur coat. This salad is a must for every Russian holiday table. Most Russians have it on New Year's. It dates back to the time of the Russian Revolution.
It's made of finely sliced pickled herring, onion, potatoes, carrots and beetroots. Each layer of dressed herring salad is covered with tasty homemade mayonnaise.

So my guess for next week is.... Red will get ready to say his last words and as soon as he gets ready to tell her, they will get the call to stop.
IW, I feel your pain.

I expected the bugs would be back because of the General Shiro episode. Mulder and Scully should have been there. It was truly their kind of thing.

Red's story about his mother and his childhood were so touching. And hearing Liz tell Red she loved him got me all teared up. He looked so shocked when she said it, too.

All past indicators were that the show-runners would be sparse with reveals & new information. Actually, I thought I learned more on last week's episode.
This week was wonderful with Lambert in as the villain and the ethnic president and a crooked hi-ranking justice official. . . . . a clear dedication to Scump, I suppose?
Less reveals, but great acting, a well-directed affair with little to no humor from Reddington. As a stand alone it was brilliant - as a reveal it was useless!

Yes! To all . . . You nailed it! I'm going to post this, anyway.
Dressed Herring or Herring Under Fur Coat is a layered salad made with diced salted herring covered with layers of grated boiled vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beets), chopped onions and mayonnaise. This salad is also very often decorated with grated boiled eggs. Herring Under Fur Coat is very popular in Russia and other countries of the former USSR. It's a traditional dish for almost any event, and is very often served at New Year and Christmas celebrations.
My main take-away . . . At least Red's mom was probably Russian.

Any thoughts on what Red's last words will be?

So you think we won't even get to hear his last words! That may be just the way it plays out!

BBB - I wasn't expecting big reveals, but we got a few small ones. I think the cabbage and dressed herring that his mother made was a clue that Red has Russian heritage. And I think what he said about his childhood revealed a bit about him.
There were things in this episode that made me laugh (Aram and the keys in the toilet) and made me cry (Red and Liz having that last supper together and Liz squeezing Dembe's hand), so when a show gives me this many feels, it's a great one.

Maybe that he loves her and he is...….. and does not get to finish?
Or, that Dembe is going to tell her?

I can see that happening! Okay, well I'll consider myself warned and have a glass of wine before the show.
Re: last meal -- I like cabbage soup but I don't think I could eat the dressed herring. Maybe if I made it with cod . . .
