Re: Episode 6.10 The Cryptobanker

Yes, I thought it very strange they brought Matt into the post office.

To be honest, they've been bringing a lot of people into the po lately who would have never gained access in the early seasons.

I didn't think anything about Matt bursting into the Post Office. But he certainly shouldn't have. In my mind, Aram probably let him in the back door. LOL

Re: Episode 6.10 The Cryptobanker

I'm glad to see the more reasonable fans post here. A majority on other forums are blaming Liz for Red not escaping. There's a lot of hatred coming at her for that and her impact statement.

Re: Episode 6.10 The Cryptobanker

I enjoyed Red's escape plan, and I especially liked what he said about his disguise.

"It’ll work. Most people aren’t particularly observant. They tend to see what they want to see. With the hat and the glasses, it’ll work."

I took those statements as having a two-fold message:  One:Red was able to fool so many people who knew the real RR that same way. With the hat and the glasses, plus his ability to mimic voices, it worked.  Two: fans tend to see what they want to see in this show.

Re: Episode 6.10 The Cryptobanker

I saw some of the hate comments out there about Liz.  That was not planned.

Re: Episode 6.10 The Cryptobanker

I speculate a lot of the Liz hate is fueled by fans wanting the prison storyline to wrap-up and/or Liz's search to have brought forth more information. I don't mind the prison stuff, and actually quite enjoyed the court room.  I can understand moving the story forward and I agree that meant Red getting out or Liz having a lot more realizations of her past, who this RR is, and why he's here.  Now Red's stuck on deathrow and we have to wait longer. We have to wait for yet another mission to carryout when we could have seen him fly away with Dembe. To where? Who knows. I mentioned earlier, we don't even know where any of this story is going now. Liz seems regretful for putting her 'not dad' in this situation, but is she really? Is she playing everyone? I like to think she IS regretful and that's why she brought Ressler and Dembe in on it. She needed a fixer too.
I have high hopes Katarina is with us the last few episodes of  S6, even if that Katarina is Red. < not my first choice, but I'd take it.

This is a passionate fan base and for long time devoted fans we've waited and waited and have been pulled in every direction and for the most part have no real truths.

Re: Episode 6.10 The Cryptobanker

Patter - I've liked the prison/court storyline much more than I thought I would.  With the news that Blacklist was renewed last May pending cast negotiations, this storyline makes sense. It's a way to do something new while dragging out answers longer.  I think a good percentage of fans have always disliked Liz, and this storyline just enflames their hatred.

From the spoilers, it looks like we'll be seeing Katarina in 6.19.  Whether that's a flashback of an older Katarina or Red remains to be seen.  With the announcement of a seventh season today, I doubt that we'll get very many answers this season.

Iowa Watcher, do you have your wine and popcorn ready?
😉

It was popcorn and a half glass of Pepsi tonight. I've got to go wine shopping. Friends and I drank my last bottle during the last snowstorm.

I liked parts of tonight's episode. The faraday cage was pretty cool, and seeing Dembe fly a chopper was great!
I agree with BBB: nothing was really resolved.

I was looking forward to Red escaping. I'm a bit weary of the prison stuff.

Honey West, I hope you had a good trip to NYC! You visited at a cold and snowy time, but no matter how cold it was, I can promise you that it was colder in Iowa, if that's any comfort. Today it was in the 30s and sunny, first really good melting day in a long time. I have 11" of snow in my front yard, unusual for this last in March.

Finally watched the show tonight. Agree it’s setting up the next episodes. Well, they have to do that once in awhile. But Red did have a fairly clever escape plan , the timing just didn’t work out.

Oh, IW, I shouldn’t tell you that we could hit 70 by the end of the week! I think Thurs night in NYC was in the teens, but I’m not sure how cold it actually got. We went up to 86th floor of Empite State Building on Saturday night and that wind up there just cut right through us! But the city lights were bright and clear. Pretty!

Honey West - I agree that Red's escape plan was clever, and I enjoyed seeing it put together. Your Empire State Building visit sounds both chilling and awesome.
